Speaking of hobbyist animating, shows that I think have good animation exhibit expressive character movement. If you took out the sound for a certain cut and you can still tell what the moving objects/characters are specifically doing, there you have it. So whether or not a show "pretty art" has no bearing on my opinion. You wouldn't say a slideshow of pretty paintings is an animation, now would you?

My Super-Detailed Rating Scale
10 - A+ - Redefined my media consumption experience and how I generally look at things. I reserve this ranking for shows that generally just leave me feeling hollow to the point where I can't really watch anything else for a bit.
9 - A - Pinnacle of a genre, or shows that pull off things so excellently that future shows would be compared against these ones. The bar-setter, if you will.
8 - A- to B+. Here is where I start making blind recommendations to people. Shows with this rating I tend to think their flaws are minimal and are executed really well in general. They tend to have a more lasting appeal emotionally.
7 - B - Worth my time, or at the very least enjoyable (my good guilty pleasure shows). Solid watch, but would likely forget about by the time the next season rolls over likely due to being too 'safe'.
6 - B- to C+ -- Where I recognize that the show/movie is quality enough to have some merits, but is either not for me or enjoyable enough while having some serious flaws. Very niche recommendation.
5 - C to C- - Absolute meh. might be a few good moments but the "bad" really stands out. I tend to drop them starting at this ranking.
4 - D - Wasn't enjoyable but didn't offend my existence
3-2 - Absolute shit
1 - Physically hurts to watch and can be used as an inhumane torture method. Benchmark for what garbage can possibly be achieved by humanity.


These ratings are based a lot on personal enjoyment/impact, so don't expect any objectivity here (like how do you even). Average score is the way it is since I tend to avoid or drop shows I don't like.
