I would have given this an 8 instead of a 7 if it wasn't for that episode I've seen before that felt rushed to me, cause I really liked this one and this franchise really interests me. It absolutely sucks that a second season seems unlikely, as I am not a manga reader, nor do I have any interest in being one...

Overall, I liked this ending. A shame that Loser died, though. That was pretty sad. :(

The ending felt rushed, even though it wasn't. The whole anime felt like it was just hurrying up to end. Still, when I thought about it, the plot and connections were a lot more complex then I thought they were. Dimension W is definitely one of the better anime of the season, and in itself was enjoyable. What I liked most was the atmosphere, which not a lot of anime manage to incorporate correctly. The two MC's were also highly enjoyable, they were a cute duo.

Final episode: 3.5/5
Series overall: 7/10

I'm actually hoping for a second season.

Happy end without it being too much over the top. Glad this didn't go full happy end because that would have just been weird.

All in all I really enjoyed the anime. Wish we'd get more but I don't expect that to happen.

I loved this episode. Incredible end. Almost cry when Mira coil began to glow red, I thought seriously that it was destroyed.
On the other hand that such destruction did not serve him for nothing Seamayer I seemed a good way to punish the villain; Loser's death cry, but hey, some of the good must die.
I liked both follow as collectors and especially that Kyouma never told Mira.
The opening and closing was very good. I give the series a 8/10 got better than it started and I wish it was longer.

I like an anime at least with a proper ending and this anime have one. It is not like an open ending or nothing really end...

And for the this anime i like the cars the most.... Toyota 2000GT and Lexus LFA - they represent old and new, past and present.

It had a strong start but the ending was kind of underwhelming for all that potential this series had built up, not exactly bad though. It had conclusion and at least didn't get as silly as Darker Than Black S1 so bonus points for that. I felt Loser's plot had more impact than the whole Kyoma x Mira thing so maybe why I'm giving this series more leeway.

Enjoyable but I wouldn't miss this series if nothing else comes from it.

Great soundtrack, probably the only thing besides the animation that was good. As for what was bad...Mira stopping Kyouma from killing that assassin like the dumb piece of junk that she is, and Kyouma listening for her after he turned his buddy's corpse into his plaything to try and kill Kyouma and everyone else. Also, Kyouma sending Seamayer off with some nice words, when he is the one man, the one main mastermind villain behind basically everything, responsible for countless brutal murders that Kyouma himself witnessed firsthand, the reason Julian is the way he is (and his eventual death), and that killed his wife on top of turning her into a grotesque giant tentacle monster after cutting off her hands and heart, like the sick fuck that he is, which Kyouma knew full well when he was nonchalantly swinging on his wires on said grotesque former-human tentacle monster...shit I can go on all day.

I get that Kyouma is satisfied with his and his fiance's decision to not use genesis for themselves due to the accident, but that shitbag didn't deserve kind words of encouragement telling him where he went wrong as if Kyouma was some kind of holy saint--Seamayer should have been told before he was disintegrate "You're a little bitch, and a piece of shit. Stay dead this time." But instead, the show tried to be a little too "feel good" in the end.

This finale was OK. There are a lot of really great looking action shots, but most of the time is spent putting back together memories and attempting to clear up some of the blurrier plot points. Mira and Kyouma's relationship, or whatever it is, also didn't really progress to much other than not calling her a piece of junk. Just wished for a little more.

I really enjoy futuristic series that deal with power generation, the economics of it, society dealing with the issue, as well as robotics and artificial intelligence. This series had a lot going for it during its run in terms of things I find interesting. It also featured some rather solid characters and performances, despite being pushed through a somewhat lackluster overall plot. Really enjoyed the episodes on their own rights!

I finally went back to finish up the series starting with island episode. It was really a nice story, and generally this anime is pretty good and in this season in particular it stands out a lot.

In the era where animes rarely have an ending a story that concludes it's main plots is really good and the main plot was Kyouma's story, his missing memories and everything connected to the island, as well as whole Mira situation which also got concluded nicely. There was no forced happy ending in which Mira would turn into Miyabi or anything like that. The Loser storyline was pretty good as well and what's more it was concluded yet again with his death. I am pretty sad about it.

The only let down for me was probably the main antagonist as well I would prefer someone else, than young crazy genius going crazy. It's not that he was bad but he didn't feel like a main let down.

Now that I see people making comments that this could be better with the build-up at the beginning though I do have to agree. Although it's not that the storyline was bad but rather... first half of the show focus on building up characters and building up the whole world, which has quite interesting setting.

Now this great world was build and we have this badass main character and many good secondary characters as well. Then we move to the second part of the season that takes place on the island and the island story was extremely well done and ties up nearly all plot lines... not sure I missed something but at least the main plot lines were concluded.

Still at the very end the badass MC remains badass till the end and we still has this whole interesting world to explore and yet the series end already.

So my main problem is that there isn't any more and the series ended. The island arc was definitely great to watch through in one go.

Sadly, the series even though good will not attain the legendary status of anime that people would return to or would recommend to others, while the series definitely had potential for it. Still legendary anime appear rarely. At least in this season there are none.

Lots of lost potential. This could have been much much better.

There was a thread in AD recently, called why don't they just shut up or something like that. Fits DW well. They just never shut up, trying to explain all the flashbacks or the premise or the science in the show, but even then they failed to make me understand and catch on.

A fiver.

Agreed. It's one of my favourites this season.

Edit: I'm laughing, that some people call this anime forgettable. It's nothing special and maybe not exactly memorable, but it's at least not forgettable like other shows this season.

This show had some potential at the beginning, but it hit a low point with the mansion/island arc, which was mostly incoherent. As the series went on it never really recovered. There was the Kyouma flashback episode, as it did explain some things, and even made Kyouma likable; that was a decent episode. But after that, the main story wasn't very engaging, not to mention how convoluted it was. In the end, I watched the show for Mira.

They wanted to target the western audience with this show, going after the Cowboy Bebop or Darker Than Black fans. It was action-oriented and the main character appeals to the western crowd, but they failed by making the story so incoherent and nonsensical. Overall, very disappointing.

Seameyer was way too cheesey and cliche jeez. Might as well thrown a twirly mustache on him, he didn't feel threatening as a villain at all, just the kind of guy you want to tell to stfu.

Overall the show was technically decent but none of the characters really captured me and made me feel attached. The story was pretty mediocre. The answer to the mysteries of the show were pretty disappointing and it devolved into mumbo jumbo at the end with cliche magical stuff happening in dimension W just cause of feelings and what not, any logical rules went out the window.

O well. I give it a 6/10, I didn't dislike it, it kept my attention alright but was just kinda disappointing and forgettable.

Eh I enjoyed it quite a bit despite its pacing issues
Really the only issue that really threw me off was the pacing, because this also led to the episodes seeming more episodic and not really related apart from the randomly found 'Numbers' coils but hey you take what you get I guess

Decent ending, would have preferred something a little more substantial and solid but it was still good to me, enjoyed it very much~
Mira is a qt btw (for those that didn't notice xD)

This ending does not satisfy me although there's death Loser and acceptance by Kyouma of Miyabi death. History has been abused and storytelling has not been able to make the best of it, like, a lemon squeezer but not entirely inconceivable. On balance, there is to save are the opening, one of the best of this winter season 2016, the story and the characters, albeit poorly characterized. Well, even Add to this the good taste of the director for the cars seen in the series.

RIP Loser :(

A nice enough ending for this show. I kind of have to agree that the characters' resolutions -- Kyouma with Miyabi, Mira with her humanity, Loser with his wife -- somehow felt empty. Maybe it's just the mood I watched it in...?

Regardless, this wraps the series up nicely and wasn't as open-ended as I anticipated 4 or 5 episodes ago. There are a few loose ends, but that is to be expected. It was a really good show and I feel it did the best it could with what it had, but unfortunately suffers by being too short (just like most single cour anime do). A few more episodes to develop characters, help us grow attached to the characters, and expand the world would've been nice.

Still love Kyouma and Mira. They were the perfect leads for this show.

I liked it enough I'll probably read the manga eventually.

The ending wasn't the best and there are some unanswered questions. I presumed the light from the Professor in episode 1 was the legendary coil he created and he ended up giving it to Mira in the finale but some confirmation would be nice :D Saiba seem to realise what was going on but decided against revealing it.

Loser's death is a tragic one though with his daughter left alone. All things points to using Genesis to revert everything back to normal (breaking the world is a good enough reason not to use Genesis though) such as team Grendel, Julian and his wife etc :) Overall this is an 8/10 for me.

The ending was better than I expected it would be, although it has been one hell of a confusing trip for me watching this anime. I enjoyed the first few episodes and somewhat lost interest towards half of the season mainly due to my personal preferences and interests. I do feel that it has gotten the ending it deserved. This series started out great, had a crazy finish but just, I can't put my finger on it exactly but the ending was kind of annoying to me.

I feel like a lot of things in this show we're very poorly explained. Maybe it was the subs, or maybe the writing, or not enough time to explain things in a 12 episode format.

All the concepts of Possibilities and Realities are pretty neat, but sometimes things were just jumping around timelines so goddamn fast that it was really hard to keep track of it all.

It really felt like I just needed to read the manga or something to get a better explanation.

Overall, it was fine, I really want to like it because the setting is damn sweet, just feels poorly executed to me.
