| This is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. This episode made me relax. Even now when I finished watching it a few minutes ago, I am still very relaxed. It was like some kind of meditation. The art and the story is absolutely stunning. While I was watching the episode I decided to check how much time is left (I thought only 10 minutes passed or so), but to my surprise, there were only 2 minutes remaining. The time flew very fast while I was watching this. And the OST is simply amazing. During the ending song I was sitting on my couch staring at the Japanese characters (from which I didn't understand one) and I couldn't move. I just sat there and watched the screen listening to that beautiful song. Normally I skip the endings, but now I couldn't even turn it off. I was frozen on the couch. This anime is simply amazing. P.S: This comment comes from a boy who loves action and shounen series. |

I know Mushishi is episodic though, so I'm leaning more towards drawing it out and enjoying each episode over time. We'll see though, I might end up powering through it more after a few more episodes. ^^ |

| Mmh.. I really don't know what to say, other than it was so soothing and calm.. The story of the episode was pretty, but the execution elevated it a bit. I am also going to watch this one or two episode per day, this has to be methabolized very well. Ginko seems a nice character. I'll give this 3/5. |

| Whoa... just... wow. This is the most atmospheric thing I've ever watched. It seriously felt like a meditation. If this was a single episode OVA with no series, I would've given it a 10 with no regrets. Amazing. I was in tears as the credits played. |

| Just re-watched the first episode after finishing the series and it still had a similar effect on me. The atmosphere of this episode is just phenomenal - ESPECIALLY the ending. This would've actually been a better finale than the actual finale was with its final line: "From that day on, the rumors of the boy with the god-like left hand were heard less and less... until finally they simply faded away." It feels so bittersweet. There's such a touching sense of progression in these words. It captivates the essence of "life goes on," which would've been a perfect conclusion yet still leaving room for the following seasons. Without a doubt one of the most beautiful episodes of Mushishi. |

| Wow, I would say that this was the anime that most left me satisfied watching the first episode. Makes you want to watch in full just by watching the first episode. And I felt the same feeling like when watched Naoki Urasawa-sensei's works. Don't know why. Great start! ^-^ |

| Wow! I remember trying to watch this about 2 years ago, and giving up about 10 minutes in. But this is great! It reminded me of Jigoku Shoujo, except without the negativity of the society. So peaceful... Might as well marathon this along with the OVAs and the second season. |

| Somebody recc'ed this to me and said to watch as slow of a pace as you want, watch an episode before you go to bed. That's what I'm doing, and I think it was wonderful, a really relaxing show tbqh. I don't usually like laid back shows like this but it seems like this is going to be really good if it keeps going like it's going. |

| This might be one of my favorite first episodes, cause it REALLY drew me in. The calm atmosphere especially blew me away, even though I was ready for it. I can't believe I waited so long to start this show, but I'm glad I've finally started. :) |

| I suffer anxiety and this whole episode just calmed me down. I loved how muted the colours were, and the soft music. I'm watching the dub, so the main character's deep, slow voice was lovely to listen to. I'm looking forward to more! |
