Some good mecha action as well as bonding between Yuuya and Yui this episode. Also, love the new weapon there and the new commander is that damn good.

Yuuya and Yui's little moment in the hangar was nice. Not much happened this episode but we did learn that the rest of the Soviet Union are very unhappy with the Russians. It makes sense if you think about how they were absorbed by the USSR, and then in this story the Russians were the ones who escaped to Alaska and left the rest of them to fight the BETA.

Fuck that, I'd be carrying a piece on the side or something. Let them mofos try to come at me like that, they'll get a bullet to the ass.

Anyway, decent episode, but what is it with this show and jerkasses. Its like we lose one, and get another one. Yui and Cryska are absolutely refreshing to the show now, but NAW, they just had to have some jerkass in it, so they add these two new chicks....ugh.

Oh man the end pissed me off! F THOSE SHIT HEADS! I knew from the start in the spoiler
they were trouble. Their faces told me Bitch-Bitch-Bastard-Cool Bastard. Either way they were all shit for doing the following,

INIA! How I wanted to be Superman and go in there to take her away from this shit head. And what’s this? He fondles her breasts and privates in the spoiler
through her uniform? HOW DARES HE!
We need Pedobear to shred him to pieces right now! Too bad that bear did not do that. That being said on to the episode.

About Cryska/Inia being hated, now I understand right away in the spoiler
the bear being like that Bridges finding out means trouble with the Russians. Now I hoped not for this but it happens. Certainly the surrounding of the 2 girls in spoiler
made things really bad from the start. Them being ESP are prone more easily to negative thinking and the yelling along with threats and forced submitting certainly made things worse. That is obvious in the spoiler
but that BASTARD HITS HER! AAAAAAHH! GRRRRRRRR! So raging! He kicked Cryska! Damn the shit! Why can’t them all be cool with each other cause the aliens are eating their others? Makes no sense for this like this.

However at the end when Bridges came in the spoiler
OH WOW! I wanted to be in it too! I wanted to help him! I would so smash the guy! Killing him would be pointless since we need people for TFS. So I am damn glad for Bridges getting nice points for saving Inia! GOOD JOB! Cryska also will be quite thankful to him if only she could slap around the shit that kicked her. Also the new girls that are commanders were hot and cool to intervene.

About the beginning, I was really impressed with the following,

That is some kick ass Russian Mecha dual firing. Certainly it shows nicely the fight in the spoiler
which kind of made me >_< FUCK! TANKS NO WORK! Family’s in the tank division with the Army. So yeah guess tanks are useless and that plain sucks cause their armor are supposed to be the best in the world. Oh well too bad. Should take note the fight is flashback that happens about 1 month ago in date comparing. I also knew it was not actual real time. It was in a flashback form.

About the boat sailing, I was mostly amused during it from Valerio’s reactions in the spoiler
quite the hilarious fellow there.

Of course nice mechas in the spoiler
F-15? They look nice and so was Vincent showing up out of nowhere. However the weather looks gloomy no matter how you look at it. Certainly fits with the shit Inia and Cryska went through.

About the conference and Yui/Bridges talk. It was nice to see in the spoiler
the new gun finally being shown but Bridges seems to get pissed off again suddenly.

It was very nice of the guys in the spoiler
to spy on Bridges/Yui meeting. Stella and Vincent looked the most thrilled. Certainly the gun depiction and showing in live version impresses. I am hoping it’s ammo can pass through the armor of the tanks types from the BETA. Then it could no longer be effective to use as a shield itself. BETA would lose more. However it seems the commander in the spoiler
sees it not that great or has problems with it. Well I heard there were some developmental issues.

Certainly it was quite gruesome to see those flashbacks in the spoiler
with like I though the obvious censors. That girl going splat in the Mecha after one laser firing is sure pitiful however there is always hope and certainly Bridges conveys that with his sweet talk in the spoiler
considering how happy Yui looks after.

About Tarisa/Stella, I have to say that Tarisa blushing in the spoiler
pleased me a lot and her story certainly was hilarious and the most ROFL of this episode. Getting lost ain’t good in foreign countries sometimes.

In regards to Stella I find the magazine in the spoiler
she reads mentions the Mecha seen earlier but it was also her interactions and Valerio in the middle of it that got some comedy in this segment.

About thee end, seems like live tests in the spoiler
and official briefing of the new gun? Well I hope it pierces the armor of the BETAs or it’s got super long range to kill the lasers for air superiority.

BTW A few extras for loads. First of all the height comparing in the spoiler
of the BETAs left me with fear. I had no idea they were this insanely tall. It certainly leaves loads to be scarred off.

Apparently there arts from a official book from the spoiler
and certainly that’s nice to catch wind of this as of this episode. Tarisa looks nice in them and I would get that book if I could find it.

Official commercials are WOW NICE! In the spoiler
they certainly show them very appealing. It also says the official dates for the Bds for those who want to know.

Nice Episode (5/5)

I was expecting to see some Mecha fight in this one but it was a good episode nevertheless. Well Yui seems to be more friendly towards Yuuya. Yuuya saving Cryska and Inia not to mention a teddy bear was also good. By the way what the heck is wrong with Cryska? Always collapsing in the wrong time and place. I hope she doesn't collapse during the combat in the next episode.

So Yui stopped being a bitch finally.

Yuuya also scored some points with the Russian girls after stopping some attempted rape. That was kinda messed up.

Oh and the head of the Soviet forces they are joining with gets her own music. Of course there is something up with these asses they have to team with.

Besides that it was rather uneventful.

Well that was a much better episode, looks like the Russians finally come into play~ Although not sure why MAL doesn't have any info on the two new Russian Commanders. So incase if people are curious here ya go:

Soviet Lieutenant Colonel: Fikatsia Latrova

Russian Pilot Captain: Nastassja Ivanova (aka Tasha)

Though it's likely this info maybe/maybe not explained fully in later episodes~

The story is starting to look good~ though really dislike that Russian cohort, to think they actually did it to others before they sexually harassed and tryed to set up the twins for rape just because they think the others have it easy -_-

And now I have a bad feeling they'll be the cause of some problems on the battlefield for the main team, guess death might be inevitable again Dx

Wow, they finally remembered there's a war going on.
It was a good episode, much better than the past ones.
Sure, the bullying and attempted rape was a bit extreme and the kicking scene was hilarious due to QUALITY , but whatever.
Oh, and imho Yui is cuter when she's not an average tsundere.

That's some nice infos there. I like Tasha's name. Very refined and nice.

I completely understand Latrova and most likely her family is dead due to the BETA. If anything else does she have a love thing for Bridges too or just treating him more like family? Seems it applies to Tasha and Bridges from the looks of her mentality and outlook.

Decent episode overall. Looks like Yui x Yuuya will be canon soon. Imo this anime is really underrated, granted it's by no means something great like Kokoro Connect or SAO, it still shouldn't be ranked lower than something like Dakara H or Hagure Yuusha.

I'm gonna give the rating straight on the spot, even before my analysis.

5/5. Character development continues (and greatly, since the last two episodes' worth of character development were pretty much slowed by fanservice) and more importantly, the plot moves.

We start off with the Su-37 M2 Terminators in action against the Beta swarm just one month before our Alaska folks arrive (and judging from that, it probably happened during the bitching episodes of 4 & 5, to contrast the difference between our bitching main characters and the USSR front lines).

Then arrive the Alaska folks. VG being the pervert he is (and he's starting to sound annoying now). Vincent gets a cameo, but otherwise he's getting more and more diminished in the series (not that he was THAT important anyway).

We get Railgun Meeting and Lovers' Talk (or at least, how every other Alaska member sees it.) Finally, they probably wrap up episodes 4,5,6 & 7 with a proper talk without bitching from both sides and overly-tsundere Yui. Yui, knowing Yuuya's past now, becomes more understanding and apologises for her bitchy behavior and wants Yuuya safe. Yuuya also understands the front lines better and experienced the shitty atmosphere of episode 1 (and probably 2 next episode), and stops his bitchy whining (hell, if it was episode 4, we get a whole episode of Yuuya complaining how the railgun slows Shiranui down.) Finally, we can get to relationship developing between the two.

But plot-wise, more importantly, is that international negotiations sent the Alaska folks to the front lines, and possibly, their deaths (remember episode 2?), Yui obviously wants to protect the Alaska folks, but neither she or Ibrahim can do anything about it.

I'm not gonna comment too much about the Cryska-Inia scene (sorta convenient to let Yuuya play hero, if you ask me, and threatens my Yuuya-Yui ship, as a result.) But seriously, these teens are screwed in the mind, but not screwed without reason though. 5 billion of 6 have died since the BETA invaded, to these guys, episode 2 is probably a daily event. Said guys aren't really old (they're probably younger than Cryska, and slightly older than Inia) and they have to be on the front lines. They're pretty much like Yui and co. in the pilot episodes, except they managed to survive.

We outright bash them because we live in safe conditions (well, very safe compared to MLA:TE universe) and we condemn those actions. I'm not defending them, I agree they're screwed up, but I'm pointing out its the circumstances that screwed all of them up. They might die anytime (hell, probably episode 9), so its "sorta" understandable why they are so anti-Alaksa Folks.

And USSR doesn't place any importance on Alternative III anymore. Cryska and Inia get "pampered" treatment (for USSR, being in Alaska is probably haven) being Russian and in ALT III, but if Alt III was still active, those guys who have been executed by their superiors for disturbing ALT III subjects.

We didn't get any action, but all the gears of the story have started moving in the plot, may it be political or practical plots.

Sadly, we'll see less of Yui now, considering that she was jostling with Yuuya for screentime, and now we introduce Latrova for more jostling, which means Yui gets the cut (since Yuuya is MC#1). What a pity, considering more people like her now.

Oh, and VG annoys me for some reason this episode, it makes Tarisa looks so much more mature this episode. Its like the side-scenes add up to show that Tarisa truly understands the front lines (since they were all once there), but VG "laughs it off" despite having being there. Tarisa +1, VG -1.

This episode was much better than the last few, although I still want them to get back to fighting the BETA. Yui and Yuuya didn't annoy me this episode. They acted like normal people and had somewhat realistic conversations. Cryska on the other hand I don't like...she is absolutely pathetic. I'm pretty sure Nunnally could take her in a fight. How is she any use as a pilot when she's collapsing left, right and centre?

Much better episode than the last 2. Yuuya and Yui seem to be civil to each other finally and they'll finally see some combat.

Those Soviet child soldiers are pretty messed up though. Good that Yuuya showed up in the nick of time. I'd really like to know why Cyska is so frail though? Must have been some of that experimentation they've been hinting at in previous episodes.

Indeed but I know most of these will be corrected in the BD. Symphogear had the same shitty problem and got PRAISES and big ones at that with the mass changes of the BDs. So stuff like that can be corrected however the director got too revealing and thus got fired. Too much to point out but it's not the first time around.

Hmm.... I expected I battle to be going on. Yui and Yuuya seem like a good match though, but Yuuya with Cryska would be cool too! ^_^

As far as my thoughts on episode 8, I say the Russian or Soviet beatdown scene was a bit too harsh on Cryska and Inia since they are risking their lives for the world's safety. And the Commander at the end was a bit surprising though, I somehow expected that, and somehow I found it a bit off that such a strong commander was leader of some mean brats! But then again, those kids are fighting BETA everyday or week while our main protagonists are training in Alaska and yet have not encountered any REAL BETA and not simulated ones.

Oh well, I would have given this episode a 3.5 but I feel that this episode is going to spark the energy in due time for the next episodes, so for now I present 4.5 stars for episode 8 of Muv-Luv: Total Eclipse Alternative. =D

Okay so for the person who posted all those screen shots in the beginning.

You are imagining thins that are not happening, though it's good to rage because at those faggots for what they did you are making things up....

1)That guy did not fondle her through her clothes, as you can see his arm didn't move.

2)He did not harass her private areas.

3)What he did do that was fucked up was that he started talking about striping, rapping, tieing them up, unbuckling his belt, and he licked her...hair?(Good thing her ears don't show and the animation did a good job of making it seem like he licked air instead.)
