Of course we knew that UE was human and this was the end of the first generation.

2nd generation start next week as Asuno Asem as next main character, I dunno but I saw a brown hair girl that were blushing maybe she is heroine in next one.

UE is not defeated and Grodek finally got his revenge.

Pretty decent ending for the first season. Instead of going for a typical happy ending that would satisfy the feeling of younger audience, it opted for more serious one showing tragic sides of the war and some dark sides of Grodek getting his revenge done. On the other hand, this makes me wonder if Sunrise is trying to appeal both older and younger audience with Gundam AGE..

Anyway, I would have liked Gundam AGE a lot more, if the studio slimmed down the battle between Zalam and Euba and took out some unnecessary fillers (thus making the first season 12 episodes long instead of 15) and replaced Gundam Titus with something else...

Well, Gundam Maxter IS the most American Gundam, and Titus just looks like it, so its become second in order, I guess.
And yeah, im german, not american >:Y
Regardless, Ill miss Titus, it was just too awsome. Sadly, Flit had to break it in Episode 14 <.<

Stupid, just stupid.

I doubt I'll like the new generation. But why for the fucking love of God is Flit NOT going to pilot his OWN fucking Gundam?
Especially after what he said at the end of this episode. It feels like they just want to do something else instead of letting Flit pilot his Gundam. Oh and of course Woolf will be in a sleep again and wake up years later, like wtf? Seriously? Fuck that shit.

I thought this was pretty good episode. It gave me a familiar of the original Mobile Suit Gundam, the chasing, gunfights and even the jet packs. I was actually hoping for more characters to die though, especially Largan. Oh well i guess i was wrong.

It was cool seeing Flit with a gun and actually shooting it. Kinda feel bad for the UE now though...

Next wee we get a new Gen, arc, characters and a new OP/ED.can't wait.

Good ending. Flaws and stuff of course, but it's pretty decent and at least, things are just getting better IMO. Of course bad guys are defeated, but it's still somehow dark for an ending, or at least bittersweet. I would like to give it a 3,5 on the pool, but MAL is a bitch (joke joke) So I will give it a 4.

What i would fix for this arc in my opinion would be-

1) Cut short the whole Euba and Zalam conflict. They didn't help really get that much screen time in the ending, they could have used one episode.

2) Had more character development on Yurin's part. To me, her death wasn't as impactful. I mean i felt bad for Stella, Four, and Lala's death because they had screen time and we got to know more about them.

3) I think the Sparrow, could have been enough. The Titus wasn't really that necessary only when he opened the gate but it could have easilly been blown up.

4) Had more development for the rest of the crew, We don't know anything about the other Bridge crew and Largan.

5) Deaths. Add a little more tragedy to it. That one is just me though.

These are my opinions.

Darn that was so good but Grodek got the worst outcome. A hero branded as a traitor?! Screw the Earth Federation. Flit was a really good protagonist and got a bit emotional when he was face to face with the antagonist

Cant wait to see the new antagonist and how much everyone has changed in the next episode.

Don't forget the random blonde UE guy who gave Woolf that necklace I seriously was depressed at that part more cause he was hot and its sad for me to see hot guys die. T_T

I felt sorry for the kid who lost his Dad and everyone was shocked.

Grodek got revenge in exchange for his freedom he got a bittersweet ending

I agree with everyone else the first season would have been perfect if they didn't spend too much time on Euba and Zalam conflict and spent more time developing the characters.

well can't wait for the next generation thats if streaming sites don't get screwed over with this whole BS going around about fileshare places shutting down by next week or before the series ends.

Still 5/5 for this episode and 8/10 overall.

What? His right. There is no reason why Flit shouldn't be the pilot when he even swore his gonna bring down the UE and become the protector. What the hell did we went through all that amateur piloting and silliness from Flit anyway?
I was kind of hoping that we where gonna go through that so we can have a better mature Flit later on and now we get a replacement?
Oh yeah ! I forgot. This is Gundam. The pilot must be an annoying fucking brat no older than 15 or else the Gundam cockpit explodes. And of course we much change pilots every time skip for no good reason what so ever.

Anyway the bad guy and his supposed super machine where defeated quite easily. The red hair brat was more of a challenge.
Another thing is if those UE guys hate the federation why the hell to they attack unrelated civilian colonies killing innocent people instead of attacking places with Federation troops?

Btw
Bad Guy- Lol, Grotek you want revenge? What a silly little man you are!
Grotek - Then what the hell are your great reasons?
Bad guy - Get back at the Federation for betraying us.
Grotek - Emmm .... That sounds like revenge to me.
bad guy - No it's not.
Grotek - -_- Yes it is.
Bad guy - No! it's not!
Grotek - Oh yes it is.
Bad guy - AAAAGRRRRRR IT's NOOOOT. YOU JUST DON"T GET IT!

Flit - Duude, you shot him!

It started off being absolutely terrible but they really changed it around in the last ~5 episodes and it had a pretty decent finish. I am still definitely disappointed with the show overall, but they really changed it up in the last bit of the first arc. I am definitely looking forward to the second one and the apparent drastic changes that will occur.

I gotta say though, the UE being from Mars reminded me of Crossbone that is incredibly deserving of an adaptation. They might have been from Jupiter in Crossbone but they still were a wacky bunch of people further out in space that wanted to kill off the earth and the people living around it. I did like that aspect of them and I'm glad they revealed them to be real people, not aliens or robots.

I long ago gave up trying to take this show seriously, and nothing has changed now that we're at episode 15. You just cant try and make a war story kid friendly for what I would hope are obvious reasons. It always ends up being a very fake experience, and it always feels like a mockery.

I absolutely love that not even once has Flit ever bothered to realized he's killed dozens of people. And poor Emily. You can't even say she's a silver medal after all this. She worried herself silly for the past however many episodes and he hasn't even acknowledged she still exists, Terrible.

I like the idea of multiple generations of characters, but it's going to ruin any chance at good characterization.

I'm trying really hard to think of something good to say about this show, but after the abysmal way they treated the UE/Human reveal... all I can do is facepalm.

You could basically also shorten it to:

Grodek: Why are you doing all this?
bad guy: We want to return to earth and live there peacefully.
Grodek: By starting war of extermination without ever publicly stating your intentions?
bad guy: YES!
everyone: wtf?
bad guy: You could not possibly understand the greatness and justice of our actions!!!!!

In any case: Talking with "bad guy" was incredibly pointless, which is somewhat sad because an entire faction with superior mobile suits compared to mostly everyone else apart from the Diva now looks like it doesn't have anyone whose IQ even gets close to leaving the two-digit area.

EDIT: but what would you expect from a faction following a guy whose name sounds almost like a newly created German word ... "Eselkant" ... could be translated as "donkey-edge". :p

Yes, the dialogue wasn't very clear! lol

I guess the point was "we want to return to the earth cuz living in Mars is kinda deadly dangerous but the Federation won't allow it to happen cuz they want to cover up their mistake in any way possible. So we'll murder our way back." or something.

I guess they wouldn't be able to publicly announce their wish too because, as they did when they arrested Grodek, it seems the Federation control the media news and information as well.

So yeah, it's not fully revenge becase they kinda feel cornered and with no other way to come back, but indeed they need high levels in "revenge wish" to want to pull that sort of plan. Like "screw the earthlings they're all jerks anyway". That's what I think anyway, the dialogue really wasn't very clear! lol

Well I'm really liking it more now, I guess it's getting better. In the last episodes I've rated this show from 6/10 to 7/10. I'm very worried about the quality/momentum going down in the next gen and more fillers coming up or things just not going right... But who knows, we might be getting another changing for the best now. Let's see....

Too bad Lagran didn't die, but oh well, it was a good last battle. I liked the part when Grodek shot down Dork Yozle or whatever his name was. It showed how revenge breed further revenge, as now that guy's son will hate the Earth just like Grodek hated the UE. Thus, the next saga's enemies will probably be grown up Desil and that kid. I also liked the fact that Grodek still got arrested, even tho I really liked a male captain for a change. Thank god that Alloy was my favorite character in this saga, as she'll rock in the next saga. Asem looks cool too. I have a feeling that he'll be a bit of a Kamille character. We'll see.

Can't compare AGE with Zeta Gundam, but I like it more than SEED and Wing. Still, not as good as Turn A, After War X and G Gundam. But that's just my opinion.

you might enjoying this guys it seems that you really don't know the true essence of GUNDAM.

All been rushed. The story, script, character development etc.. etc..

I watched it because I thought I could see an improvement in the story.

Then I saw outro of this episode, It was devastating It just a repetition of crappy story.

It was trying to imitate the first MSG and MSG Zeta series but it failed to do so.

So my conclusion is it was made just to make money out of Gundam franchise series with a A in gundam's chest (note this is the only gundam that has letter on the chest e.g. Combatler Voltes Five). This was just made for kids.

Well I guess you really don't get the philosophy behind it. You just like the stories that is comprehensible for you. You don't try to understand the deepest meaning that the author wanted to deliver. That's why you really don't know the essence of it.

Well maybe if you try to study human philosophy and its history you might understand what I mean about it or maybe its just too soon for you to understand.

You heard the word "Gunpla"? Little Gundam-Action Figures, one of the reason, why Endless Waltz got useless new Gundam Updates. And those are for KIDS, and KIDS like the new AGE, because its a easy-going-Story (well, I easily can follow the story, 00 had way too much story I didnt want dive into), and the characters look more like "child-art". (I doubt an six year old boy will watch 00, or their parents would allow it).

Of course gundam has a deep story (I doubt G Gundam has that, though. Didnt watch it, but what I heard, its more Lovestory and Fun). What we learned from AGE: Revenge is an endless circle, you cant escape it. (Grodek killed UE-Boss, CHild will kill Grodek now, ro someone else, at least it will hate earth people). and so on.

We have those meaningless wars, the conflicts, and what we learn: Every side has its own view on "justice", no side is "pure evil". Dont think white-black, thats the most important lesson I learned from watching Gundam.

The hate and revenge plot has been used for most of the gundam titles though the difference in Age is that it didn't really give an impact it isn't deep enough. Sending them to Mars and then EFF didn't help them is that really enough reason to get revenge? Well reality speaking its not. If you compare it to SEED, the douchebag naturals started the war because of jealousy they can't accept that their too superior in everything. Well maybe in 70-100 years we might have already a genetically enhance human and this might really happen because their too many narrow minded people in the world.

As for Gundam 00 instead of repeating the same plot they created something that might be a possible solution for humankind. Comparing the art of 00 and Age I find the Age is targeted for kids and 00 are for teens, I just can't believe that you find 00 art is for kids.

Well I suggest that you to rewatch SEED if you really don't like well I guess you don't like stories that are too complex.

I'm pretty certain being isolated and left with a crippling disease would drive a isolated bit of the human race to revenge.

Heck in real history, we have had wars cos economy was in ruins.

I think Gundam had too much lolz angst but the action keeps it watchable. Its digestible chunks.

I found the other Gundams had too much talking about war and its purpose.

AGE is like why so serious?

While some of the more cliche things did make me roll my eyes a bit, this was good solid Gundam material right here. Also, the reveal as to who the UE are, what they want, and where they come from is an interesting game changer for the series and Gundam as a whole. They came up with a new and interesting twist on the Zeon (I almost said
ZAFT, someone slap me) formula. I'm very interested about where this series is going.

The Flit we knew and loved is dead now, along with Yurin. after Yark Dole made a shocking revelation that the UE -- now VE (Veigan Empire) -- are humans all along and are seeking revenge against the Earth Federation who double-crossed them when they needed their help, Flit still continues to deny them a chance for respect as fellow humans. After all, humans are flawed, and denying the VE a chance for redemption and still fighting for the evil EF will only downgrade Flit into a "hero" in name only at best... :(

Nevertheless, I look forward seeing the personality Asem would have, given his father's dark turn.
