THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It was a pretty awesome movie... too bad since 2003 they haven't made a second movie for a final a fight with Miyata. That was something I was actually looking forward to in the series. |

Fucking awesome. Being serious, Hajime no Ippo is the anime that got me that bad since Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann. Damn it, it feels bad watching it in 2 weeks... but I wasn't that fond in anime when Ippo aired... This movie this movie this movie I can only say that Ippo s2 is going to be ballin' |

Im not sure if you mean a final between Miyata and Ippo and if you do I heard from my cousin who reads the manga that in all this time that the manga has been going on Ippo and Miyata have yet to fight it out in a professional ring But yea great movie second time Ive watched it. I wanted some more Ippo x Kumi in it though. I am hoping for a good amount of it in season 2. Im looking forward to World Title Belt matches. Until Then ~Skullking123~ |

I keep wondering why they introduced the improved feints if he's never going to use them intentionally :/ looks like they don't intend to allow any real progress on the love front any time soon, I'll be shocked if he manages to confess before the end of the next series, even though they're basically going out already. |

I sorta didn't like this movie. There was too much bitching that went on with Ippo. It was at a whole new level. Overall, I liked it. |

Yeah I agree with ArtRodriguez, I mean Ippo is the new champion so I expected him to act as one but instead we got to see the old insecure Ippo-kun struggling through a fight. But still good movie. Kumi is getting tired of waiting so she is making the moves now! lol v.v |

I didn't realize that this was 1hour plus episode! I was so hooked onto the anime that time flew haha Another great fight and title defense for Ippo.. The part i liked was when he was forced to admit his love to Kumi haha.. it was so mushy mushy :-D Well Ippo can fight it out in the ring but when it comes to love, especially Kumi.. he's a softie! wahaha The fight overall was great.. the finishing move at the end was very similar with Sendos'.. His opponent was unique.. An interesting combination of a doctor and boxer.. Ippo should really muster up some confidence.. I mean Kumi is giving so many signs and hints that she likes him and at the end of the episode was a killer! Wahaha |

Oomyung said: I can't believe no one has brought up his finishing punches' name. I know it's probably not as bad in Japanese, but "the swallow" just sounds incredibly gay to me. I laughed my ass off when the trainer was like, "There will be two swallows in the ring. Watch out for the 2nd swallow!" homophobe? Anyways, loved this movie, 10/10 |

What an intense start! The first half bought me back to the first few episodes of Ippo. Dat arm wrestling contest~ Ippo you baka. Why didn't you confess under the snow?! *face palm* The fight was pretty damn intense. Great job on Ippo's defense match, way to go! 8/10 |

Pretty good fight although I liked the Date vs Ippo and Sendo vs Ippo (second match) fights better than this one. The comedy is great, as usual. I especially loved the arm wrestling contest. Anyway, pretty decent special, onwards to Mashiba vs Kimura. |

It was a great movie. The comedy was hilarious, as always. The romance was cute and well done, even if it was really predictable xD Sanade was really a good challenger. Having as an adversary a doctor who knows perfectly the human body, that's one hell of a challenge :P The fight was pretty good, though Ippo was really out of the action for a good moment... |

so this is not a movie?? I believe in gender equality.. no matter what you are, male or female if you like someone you can confess.. why do girls have this mentality that guys have to do the first move anyway? great action with a little bit of romance and drama also a great dose of comedy.. this special or movie or whatever it is.. it is perfect easily 10/10 |

Amazing match and a very awesome victory! Good going Ippo! But well in the beginning he was a bit of a baka not properly confessing his love but that ending sure made up for it! I really hope they'll advance in the next coming seasons! And lol those 3 peeping :p All in all one hell of a great special! 9/10 |

Disappointing lack of a confession by Ippo. Two perfect opportunities, why drag it out so long. |

Movie was solid. Felt like a chain of a few episodes. The new animation is really nice. The Ippo and Kumi shit is really getting annoying. They were cute at first with the Mashiba humor, but now it's just ridiculous. Acting like 10 year olds with this "Oooohhh, do I tell her" bullshit. Ippo should just go be gay with Miyata and end this nonsense. The fight was good. It's a shame cause it was a really good fight, but after Sendo it felt kind of like a let down. I guess nothing can top that fight for a while. Either way, looking forward to the next movie |

I thought they should have ended it differently than just using the exact combo that beat Sendo. Was a really good movie, but could have been a better fight. The visuals were sick though, and I'm glad the Ippo/Kumi ship is confirmed, although I'm pissed at Ippo for being such a wuss lol. 8/10 |

Was good movie for 4 eps long. It feels unreal Sanada beat all other boxers and gained the right to challenge Ippo. Only just if it had more better build-up, I would've seen Sanada as a tough opponent. |

Worst fight since the begining of the series, an absolute nonsense. And the typical anime love story with characters that look like autistic 10 years old kids... |

This was a pretty cool movie or special. Honestly I just consider it 4 episode of Hajime no Ippo put into a marathon for me I hope to make a review of this one day. For now I'll just say, it was nice. I didn't really find myself relating with Sanada as much as the other opponents. Everything also become a little predictable It also didn't help with how Ippo was acting. Overall an 8/10 |

First of all, why his mother didnt go to a SINGLE mach of his son. I understand that she dont want to see him beaten up, but it still anyis me so much. And for the movie, is very good. I especialy liked the part whit the hand fight (i dont know how is called in english xD ) and i dont think it was fair that Takamura won, but after all he didnt confes Kumi so it ok xD i am realy looking forward to more of that romance story. |

Tbh he should just confess! I know it's hard to confess your feeling It's more painful if you love her but you stay as "friends" Why Ippo? Why you didn't confess? :( Aww the doctor is really good But two jobs are too much for him Boxer and doctor the two things I never expected for someone to be Aww the ending was sweet Only if those 3 bakas weren't there.. Who knows what will happen? xD |

Great movie with great intensity, Sanada fought really well but Ippo has much more spirit than him. But his spirit wasn't enough, since I guess he thought Kumi was cheering for Sanada. It would've been great if Kumi was shown cheering for him, this would've made the movie more intense, heartwarming and really romantic, especially if she cheered at the last moment and Ippo hears her voice. It was only the coach's voice that fuelled his desire to win but it was hanging by the thread. If Kumi said she cheered for Ippo then how can we believe her if she wasn't shown, I mean she could be lying since he won and wants to be on the winning side. 9/10. |
