Not bad for the first episode. It's another one of those where a female protagonist (Leticia) had to go training to become an ideal princess. This first episode has more storytelling about her childhood. Works fine here since she's learning to grow up each day. Leticia herself seems like a likable person with her friendly personality. |

Novelist Izumi Sawano's series may not have the best reception (by manga's low numbers and bad reception on MAL), but give the anime a shot before prodding further. Jun Fukuyama's OP and DIALOGUE+'s ED are OK, just really kinda forgettable. The red-haired daughter of the duke of Leticia Dorman, and the boy that stood alongside her, it all started with a letter of summons from the Kingdom of Arstal, mentioning of the former's arranged marriage to move away alone from her family and into the royal palace to receive princess lessons, though seemingly forced to do so and forget all about her rambunctious and free-spirited life. Conceited by her "brother" Nadir and close servant Lily Staehr, along with the harsh teachings of the old hag instructor Laila Mayer making sure that she is fit for the role while growing up to become a fine woman (though devoid of her feelings by the time she had fully matured). And then comes the day of the ball, where she would be known as the fiancée of Prince Clarke, but him bringing another woman of Brianna Lariquel, thus calling off their engagement, she's...rather happy about it, because if it were the past where Nadir would reject her claims to call off the engagement, he would heavily refuse it, and now she can finally turn the karma back to him with the exact agreement. Leticia, even thanking Brianna that she's finally off the hook of all things nobility, she has never been this excited to leave royalty behind since she held the grudge to persist until now and finally live the life she had wanted to in the countryside in the Dormans' Aberta Village. Yep, it's precisely the plot for someone who didn't want the position in the first place, but forced to out of her will. Will being free, finally set her free? |

This is the reijou anime we always needed. After watching the first episode I have high expectations for this. The author clearly knows what she is doing and I love to see someone who understands how historical clothes work. And it is interesting how she mixes different styles of the dresses. |

A so-so premiere, but let’s see if it gets better. You can’t really blame the protagonist for wanting to ditch the castle and bail since she didn’t willingly agree to this arranged marriage. Her happiness was hilarious, and from the trailer, it seems like this will be the opposite of the usual: the protagonist will be the pursuer, and the princess will retreat. In most stories, it’s the other way around, with the women chasing and the male leads being indecisive, so this one stands out as different. |

In the first half I was like "this is such an oppressive anime" and after that break-off scene happened I'm like "Yes! go girl! for freedom! for a better life! leave a boring noble society behind!" |

Another show I nearly didn’t pick this season, but when I found out DIALOGUE+ was doing the ED I knew I had to slap it on the list lol, and the ED itself was nice, didn’t think we’d get it and the OP this episode but I’ll take it, and comparing it to their song for “Possibly the Greatest Alchemist”, I think I like them both around the same atm, gotta give them time to grow on me, but I also kinda wish DIALOGUE+ would return to doing some more chill songs like they have in the past, they probably have but just not for anime. And Jun Fukuyama’s OP was also pretty nice, I’ve only ever heard him on the OPs for “The Vampire Dies in No Time” and they always slapped, love to hear him again here, visuals were fun too. As for the show itself, I really liked this start, they did a good job showing how mundane and hard it is for such a small girl to learn how to be a proper lady, I’m honestly surprised Leticia didn’t try to escape sooner, but the moment she realized she could when Prince Clarke arrived with Briana she took the mask off and was out of there lol, I really liked that moment. But I also can’t help but feel there’s more than meets the eye with Clarke, it really seemed like he was ending the engagement there but it also looked like he had more to say but Leticia kept cutting him off, it’s a rough start for Clarke but I’m interested in seeing how he redeems himself and becomes the main love interest. |

SPOILER ALERT! English: Is this a bad series? While the manga didn't get very good reviews on the website, I consider this adaptation better and maybe recommendable. The biggest problem I have with this series is the very poor work with the audio, maybe it's a very serious mistake on Crunchyroll's part, that affected my experience a bit but I'll let it go for now. As for the story, it didn't feel very fast or forced except for the beginning, with the fact that the parents send our protagonist to the palace without saying goodbye, maybe something was omitted from the manga but I feel that it fits well with the context of the scene. Leticia doesn't receive a warm welcome at the palace, just her first daily dose of lessons, she's a scared girl who is then deprived of a normal life so I understand how bad she went through all those years. Then there is the time jump, the scene with the prince happens, which I found funny and I have no complaints, there was also a flashback that showed the brother's intention to access royalty through our protagonist, maybe that last thing sounds bad but I don't think he's a bad protagonist, since they left their parents' house, destiny brought them together, this is something I want to highlight, no character hates the protagonist, they all just do their job, the brother also worked hard all these years and needs Leticia to work in the nobility, the teacher only does the job of teaching everything she needs, and finally there's the prince, who I'm not going to lie, I think he'll be a bad character, a jerk. That's all for now, I think the series has potential, I just want to remind you that our current values and principles don't have to matter in animation, Leticia was born noble, in a very different time and therefore she wasn't born free, you have to see this with a more open mind. PS: Sorry for my poor English, I had to use a translator for help but I appreciate you reading this :3 Greetings from Spain! |

I am on the floor. Loved the end of the episode, though it does seem kind of silly to assume your engagement is over so you can just take the king's staff with you looool Poor Clarke having to realize your betrothed truly does HATE THIS SO MUCH that she escapes immediately. I can see why she's getting away with this everyone probably figures she needs some fresh air because hysteria or something. So far this seems like it's going to be funny and fun so it'll be interesting to see how it expands from here to become more than that (though it wouldn't necessarily have to) |

Does seem a bit abrupt to assume that a ten-year betrothal is over just because the prince is escorting another woman to a single ball... but then he did appear to agree that it was the case. Quite a contrast from her dead-inside eyes at the start of the ball to how she left, though. |

The first episode is extremely funny and I can't handle my laughing here at 2:30am lol. Expecting much more from DIALOGUE+ though, the song doesn't sound as good as Higehiro and Mamahaha. |

Let’s go! An anime showing how oppressive the nobility was for women. Leticia grew up her whole life being groomed to be a princess and marry into the royal family, no one ever stopped to consider what she wanted though. Love that she refused to bow to social pressure and stayed true to who she is. Solid first episode, love Leticia as a lead already and the author clear has done research into historical accuracy. I’m hooked The fact Leticia couldn’t eat, talk OR move the way she wanted to for damn near her whole life is ridiculous. Everyone thinks being a princess and marrying a prince is this fairytale ending and it’s actually hell on earth. Even in modern times look at Meghan and Harry. The social responsibility, pressure and expectation to conform to established traditions is horrible. ESPECIALLY if you were a woman in this day and time. Challenge in this show is just going to be how they’ll keep it interesting. Never heard of the manga so no idea how it’s been received, but I liked the first ep. |

I feel like some of the character art looked a bit off at times but the backgrounds and general lighting was pretty. I thought the setup for the main character’s life was well done and I’m interested to see how this develops into a romantic comedy. |

First episode seemed interesting to me. Protagonist is forced to be a princess due to an "arranged" marriage, so she studies, learns everything about princesses, manners, etc....but because of this, she ends up understanding herself, although she was learning everything quickly (but something to affected) this beginning seemed to me a lot like a film, animation, etc... But then, she discovers that the prince had another "girlfriend" and intends to end the marriage, which makes her "wake up" again, finally achieving her goal, which was to leave royalty and stop being a princess. My theory is that she had a wrong understanding, it didn't seem to me that the prince was really "in love" or "dating" that character, but maybe I'm wrong, it was just the impression I had, we'll see as the story progresses if I'm right or no. |

So much of this was just a source of pride and for appearance sake, but it didn’t make them good people. Many times it made them look down on others, but those others were living life. |

Didn't really understand what this anime is about, since this episode was kinda weird. Like, heroine was forced into an engagement she wasn't into, then it broke off, without us knowing the reason. Like, i get he got another girl, but why did he? We don't know. They've been engaged for years, and all we get are time skips, without any actual activity between them? And after the engagement broke off, heroine doesn't even know what she wants to do until her older brother suggests something then she decides on that as her goal? Don't know. Heroine looks plain to me, at least so far. I'm hoping the upcoming episodes might change my perspective of her. |

@bossunhimeswitch Well the prince certainly has not tried beating the allegations Like, if the engagement wasn't broken, why not saying so instead of having your fiancee make a fool of herself in front of everyone, lol |

so... obviously Leticia doesn't actually get out of being a princess somehow based off of the title, and the engagement is still on. my few theories are that she was just dreaming when Clarke called off the engagement, she misunderstood something, or the engagement did actually get called off but Clarke ends up stalking her and persisting them to marry again (heard this one from someone else and, as distasteful as it sounds, it's possible). not sure if I really like how this anime is going at the moment and it's only the first episode... also, respectfully, the animation is not good |

I died laughing when Leticia finally ended her engagement to that prince. It was really hilarious. However, the art style is not the best & the animation seems to be on a really low budget & the viewer shall feel it. |

the first half had me really upset and she seemed really depressed but then it turned around completely :D though the title is weird. she just went through 10 years of princess lessons but the title says that she "wants to escape" them :P? art is a bit iffy at times but my main gripe is with the really weird black borders at the top and bottom. i think they were supposed to imply that this scene is from the past but it was so annoying to look at and the "transition" from black bars to no bars was confusing my brain |

this was a pretty good episode, but i really hope she does not have too much trauma from those years of torture so far i am giving it an 8/10 and i plan to continue watching depending on how the rest of the season goes i could realistically lower it to a 7, or raise it to a 9 its rare for me to finish an anime that i give a score lower than an 8 its hard for me to have the motivation to finish shows, so its common for me to lose interest in shows i give a 7 or lower |

lol Leticia is so real but man, if Clarke actually had an interest for her since the start hence why she was gonna be queen in the first place, could have been because he really liked her very bubbly personality but after finding someone else he likes reverting her back to her free self, realizes how much he adored her for that free spirit and is gonna chase her again lololol I think this one is gonna be one of my top favourites this season |

@LaczPro19 bruh it actually is, I had a job in Japan Centre in central London before and although it was nice being able to speak Cantonese and Japanese there to customers, it was still vexing travelling in and out of London, plus the fact it was a retail job at the end of the day my last day before I quit felt so good it was unreal |
