Mt. Lady is still very much a badass and this episode shows why. I'm just glad to see the adults and staff members fight back against the villains and AFO. They really need all the help together to survive this.

Feels like with war can only be fought on when everyone works together. Despite this, it still looked hopeless for Hawk and the others. Crazy how powerful the villains are now.

This was a fine episode, but judging by the preview next episode will be absolute fire. Two of the best moments in the arc adapted back-to-back with seemingly great direction and production values.

I'm praying for a Yutaka Nakamura cut in the next three episodes.

This is a textbook example of how to handle a large cast. Other anime are suffering from having too many characters, but not My Hero Academia.

I was waiting for this hawks moment I didn't know it was gonna be this episode
If that's true then I know next episode is him. And other than that I am looking forward to next episode for my favs to have a tiny spotlight
Pinky became a little pale. Kirishima didn't get enough screentime. Even this much backup wasn't enough. You know this show is a big fake out at this point. Atleast next episode is a big animation episode

As All For One gets younger his rage increases. Maybe its the influence of Shigaraki seeping through as All For One gets closer to his age, that feeling of wrath allowing All For One to unleash his quirks with greater strength. These attacks by the heroes causing rewind to work faster, so they're doing good at brining him down to this next stage. Machia suddenly showing up attacking All For One is a huge surprise for the heroes. Flashing back to right after Dabi was seemingly defeated we get look at the battlefield where Machia was being held. Kirishima, Mina and Mt Lady all there trying to stop these villains from breaking him out. The secret escort mission that they hinted at the start of the battle is revealed to be bringing Shinso here to manipulate Machia with his quirk. The liberation villains using sound waves to wake Machia up. Getting to see the sludge villain from all the way back in the beginning of this whole story return to mess things up by grabbing Shinso. Mina gets her big moment taking him down with her acid, mixing it into his sludge and rendering the villain to goop. Allowing the others to grab Machia and use Shinso quirk to send him after All For One. Having three big hitters in Tokoyami, Mt Lady and Machia all pummel All For One is huge, they can really force him to stay put and use up some rewind. However its just as All For One said, as he gets younger he gets angrier. His youth is shining through now. Unleashing attacks that cripples both Mt Lady and Machia. Then lighting up Dark Shadow and Tokoyami. Hawks trying one last time but his quirk gets stolen. All For One left with no opposition now as he zooms to Shigaraki.

It's time for another bunch of heroes to get taken out of the fight. First Pinky (Ashido) with her Acidman quirk saved Mt. Lady (and lost a bit of color in the process) as well as Red Riot (Kirishima) and Shinso, taken out. Then Gigantomachia marched to All for One and while brainwashed started pinning him but not before complaining of being left alone. He fired back with another bs effect of the rejuvinating process and took out Tokoyami, Mt. Lady and Hawks, stealing his quirk. Mineta was also there but didn't do much so I guess he's still in the fight.

3 episodes to go.

Anime onlies don't know that this is only a half-way point of the final war arc, nobody tell them, shhh.
Imagine normies saying: "Peaky Blinders is mid and overhyped. Just another typical crime drama show. Breaking Bad is much better lol.".

Toga clearly going through her own dilemma, and Uraraka noticing it within a split second, that's saying something.

With All For One clearly at an advantage, the suddenness of Gigantomachia's reveal can only mean the worst of situations for the heroes, as much as Mt. Lady, Shinso and the others do their best to stop his awakening. And even at their worst, they aren't going to give up now, with Mina giving it her best and Kirishima responding in kind (that is where the canon pairing of the two comes from), with Shinso being able to use his Brainwashing Quirk to rally the big giant to their side.

Even when it seems that Shinso's Quirk is failing them, Machia having to reconsider his loyalty with All For One leaving him behind, angering him of the betrayal he felt when his master left him for Shigaraki. It's a change of tide as the heroes are able to withhold him further, but not for long when All For One manages to regain control and unleash his Quirks and lay on the desperation of the heroes, with all the people watching the crevices of what remains to be Japan, including those from the movies.

Hawks's Quirk has been stolen and stored for external use, is there really no hope for the heroes this time?

So I guess there was a reason we didn’t see much of the Gigantomachia containment front until now, not much happened lol, gas mask man released the big boy but thanks to the combined efforts of Mina, Shinso and Mt. Lady (also my girl Yui Kodai, happy she played a role in this massive arc) they managed to turn things around and take control of Machia. Kinda unfortunate that masked villain didn’t get to do much because he had a cool design, but Mina had a really great moment that lead to his defeat, pretty cool to see her lose her pink color a bit there, it still wows me twitter got mad about this but it is twitter after lol. Also, nice to see Shinso playing a big role here too, he’s come such a long way since his debut in the sports festival.

It was also cool seeing a bit of the news reporters, even if all they do is report on the action they still have a lot of importance, I just fear for them because of just how powerful the villains have become, mad respect tho, and it was here we got some of the movie characters in a montage, I only recognize Melissa tho because even after all this time I have still only seen the first movie lol, I’ll fix that eventually.

And damn, just when things were looking great in the fight against All For One, the man gets even younger and somehow more powerful and literally blasted away all of the opposition, they were cool scenes but it hurt to see after how much things culminated to make that happen. And now he has Hawks’ quirk, insult to injury for sure since I don’t think it’s gonna do much for AFO, he didn’t even kill Hawks, just left him quirkless, I mean he wasn’t doing much with it at this point but still upsetting to see. And I’ll give Mineta points there for his small effort, Tokoyomi still has his quick now after all, but man it’s sad to see all those heroes down for the count, even the Shiketsu students who just returned in the previous episode. But man, if what someone else said is true in this thread, this is really only the half way point of this arc? Wild man, it really doesn’t feel that way but I don’t doubt it, excited for the final three episodes of this season tho!

The tide of this war has been going pretty crazy. With Gigantomachia being awake again, I thought it would be a huge disadvantage for the heroes, but Shinso using his skills to get Machia on their side was a smart move. Not only that, but Machia has been harbouring feelings of anger towards All For One for being betrayed, so that also played into the hero's hands.

However, All for One only seemingly got stronger the younger he has become, where it did take me a while to adjust to hearing him with a different voice. Still, seeing him tearing everything apart did change the tide of the battle with a blink of an eye. Taking Hawk's quirk for himself was a bitter sight to see, I must admit.

A pretty good episode overall, where I'm glad that Mina and Kirishima got more involvement with how well they played their part. The preview for the next episode has me rather hyped up. =)

- Damn what another crazy episode man. So much going on all at once. Ashido and Kirishima, that slime monster from episode 1, Mt. Lady, Gigantomachia, Hawks, it’s all over man.

- The young version of All For One is now voiced by Hitoshi Kamiya! He is also voicing Sensei from Isekai Shikkaku this season too 🤣🤣🤣 that is LITERALLY his voice as soon as he spoke! Also Levi from Attack on Titan too 😂

Some emotional moments but even just a small resolution would be nice, then again it is a shoenen so probably nothing until the final episode so while disappointing it's no surprise. After this episode we are left with a trillion unanswered questions, and I prefer full episodes/chapters rather than cliffhanger bait. Cool that they got those news choppers going, they should be safe as long as they don't get too close, since AF1 loves the attention. I swear I would love to see all might coming in screamin hot with his batmobile and transform one last time to beat the crap out of the baddies, or even better, Toka to instead use Midoriya's OFA quirk to stomp him. She has to like them, but maybe a change of heart/redemption arc is in play here, plus she's "liked" him since the beginning. It's alluded to pretty heavily here so I'm expecting to see it soon.

All For One with a younger face and voice seems... wrong. I knew I recognized that voice from somewhere. It's Hiroshi Kamiya with his cool Levi Ackerman voice. Didn't hear that in a long time.

I saw that frame with Mina around Twitter and I didn't really get why people were having a meltdown. I just now noticed why... People are surprised to see that a Japanese character that's also a Japanese national has light skin? Wow.

Looks like AFO stole Hawks' quirk. Poor guy.

Next episode seems like All Might might do something. Wonder how he'll fight.

I’ve enjoyed the series since S1E1 but this is nowhere near as entertaining as S6 and getting a little tedious. TBH I’m happy there’s only 3 more episodes. I’m getting a little tired of the same old in-episode and episode-to-episode formulas.

Hey another pretty good episode, MHA is on a roll with the good episodes, the animation is lacking but everything else is making up for it so again, I'm not complaining, this arc is weak but I'm enjoying this arc way more in the anime than I did in the manga.

And with so many characters this anime has, they are getting their time to shine which is nice.

I don’t remember exactly how short many of these chapters were but the pacing here feels insanely fast. Like we get Machia’s reintroduction, brainwashing, turning on AFO, AND death all in one episode.

Also I never did like how we see Shinso and Kirishima on Machia’s back before we the flashback of how it ended up like that. Really I think that fight should have been placed earlier in the arc.

Wait, are you telling me there was a hidden side-plot with Mina training with Bakugou and Todoroki? Man, I would have loved to see that! I always thought her quirk had great potential.

Not gonna lie, first half felt a bit too corny (yay for the rare Mina x Kirishima moment tho) but second half with young-adult AFO going all out was fantastic.

And that next episode's title tho... please bring buff All Might back. Please bring buff All Might back!

seeing hawks lose his quirk was very sad, and i didn't expect mineta to show up to try to defend tokoyami, he was cool.
also seeing the movie characters in this episode was cool, i guess they are like canon now.
i think this is the right way to manage a very large cast of characters in an anime, good job horikoshi.

The 18th episode of My Hero Academia Season 7 is nothing short of breathtaking, delivering a masterclass in storytelling, animation, and emotional depth that will leave fans on the edge of their seats. This episode expertly balances intense action with moments of heart-wrenching vulnerability, keeping the stakes sky-high as our heroes face new challenges.

The episode kicks off with a high-octane battle that pushes the limits of both the heroes and villains. The animation is nothing short of spectacular, with fluid motion, intricate detail, and a vibrant color palette that brings every scene to life. Every punch, quirk, and explosive moment feels impactful, thanks to the impressive animation quality that continues to be a hallmark of the series.

However, what truly sets Episode 18 apart is the emotional depth woven into the action. Characters like Deku and Bakugo shine as they confront not just external threats but also their own inner struggles. The dynamic between the two is explored in a way that feels fresh and meaningful, adding new layers to their complex relationship. Deku's growth as a leader and hero takes center stage, and the episode does a fantastic job of showcasing his evolving confidence and mastery over his abilities.

One of the standout moments of the episode comes in a surprising twist during the climax. Just when it seems like the heroes have gained the upper hand, a new villain emerges with a quirk so terrifying and unique that it completely shifts the direction of the battle. The tension is palpable as the stakes escalate, leaving fans desperate to see how the heroes will respond in the next episode.

In terms of pacing, Episode 18 strikes a perfect balance between fast-paced action sequences and quieter moments of reflection. The use of flashbacks and inner monologues is sparing but effective, adding emotional weight to key moments without feeling overly sentimental or dragging down the momentum.

The soundtrack also deserves special mention. The music heightens the tension during critical scenes and adds emotional resonance to quieter, character-driven moments. It's clear that the production team has paid careful attention to every detail, making this episode a standout in terms of both narrative and technical execution.

Overall, Episode 18 of My Hero Academia Season 7 is a tour de force, combining jaw-dropping action, intricate character development, and unexpected twists that will leave fans eagerly awaiting the next installment. It’s a must-watch for both longtime fans of the series and newcomers alike.

Welp... looks like we're going to have a power of love moment come save the day. It's super obvious that the reason Toga can't use the abilities of Shigaraki and Dabi, but she can of Jin and Ochako, wasn't because Toga loves them, but that they genuinely cared about her, that's the difference, and that's going to be the key. It's going to be the thing that turns her character around and ultimately saves the day (at least in that part of the fight). Whether she just gives up and stops fighting, or she goes to help Deku is still up in the air.
