That Masayuki protrays himself as a hero...and seems to attract the attention of others. He even has a party too.

Rimuru recogonized his role this episode but I'm not sold on Masayuki's motivations. His personality especially is one to watch out for. Nonetheless, I kinda like the mind games going on this episode. Masayuki is somewhat of a deceptively complex character.

Back to the meeting table we go.

Rimuru successfully recruited the skilled merchant Mjollmile as the chief financial manager. After Mjollmile informed Rimuru about elves being sold as slaves, Rimuru tasked Soei with investigating the matter. Soei reported back that the Orthrus running the slave market had already been defeated by the Lightspeed Hero Masayuki. Additionally, Masayuki is now apparently heading to Tempest with the intent of slaying Demon Lord Rimuru.

The meetings are back again, but honestly, I don't care much anymore since this time they only took up half the episode instead of the whole thing. The second half was interesting with the new guy introduced. He might seem weak, but if he has a luck skill, he could be really powerful. Luck could be one of the strongest skills in the story thus far. I'd even say that if Rimuru weren't the MC, this guy could be the standout character. He doesn’t seem to be an AO, but he's definitely making the most of his situation, though not in a bad way. If people knew how he’s using his luck, they might be disappointed. Yuuki also made an appearance, for better or worse... smh.

I'm really interested now to see Rimuru and Masayuki meeting each other.

The first half was a snoozefest and not worth talking about much but there is something at least potentially interesting in the second half with Masayuki, the Lightspeed Hero and what will entail when he ends up in Jura and meets Rimuru at some point. Got quite the support around him too. Hopefully he's not nerfed into being as forgettable of a character as a lot of others in this series after a couple, initial appearances.

Mjollmile leads Tempest's Opening Festival in all of the planning and details, though it's yet another meeting before the grand opening. But more than just needing more dungeon bosses, it's the Lightspeed Hero Masayuki Honjo, who like Rimuru, is suddenly thrust into the fantasy world with his Chosen One unique skill and the Heroic skills that lesser beings cannot contend with. At least for his part gaining companions along the way like Jinrai the Mad Wolf, Bernie the Wizard and Jiwu the Elementalist, it's all the work of Yuuki helping him to integrate within the world.

The slave criminal organization of Orthrus is also Team Lightspeed's priority, though this puts him on the hairpins of the nobles...and a ccoincidence of finding the toilet within the Kingdom of Ballachia to find a secret slave contract being signed, he's got to be either lucky from Chosen One or just being in the wrong place at the right time to initiate war against the slave traders, correcting the world one mission and reputation at a time. And now, the king needs him to send the elves back to the Great Forest of Jura, to Rimuru's territory, because he is a wimp...and Masayuki's reputation only increases by that same misunderstanding of not killing a Demon Lord, but just a peace treaty of sending people back to whence they came from.

Either way, Masayuki's on his way to Tempest, and everyone is excited to take action, though Rimuru must come in peace and handle him himself.
Might as well not screw up the Opening Festival while at it.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

really thought this would be some kind of joke but we spend the entire episode setting this new guy up huh.
Can this series still do ANYTHING, but have "political meetings" that build up to an event that gets interrupted by building up something else that gets interrupted by something else again?
How the hell was slime diaries written as competently as it was with no core plot, while the main series trips over itself again and again like this

Ngl, I was afraid half of this episode was about to be dedicated to that damn table again lol, I really have PTSD over it now, but thankfully that wasn’t the case thanks to the introduction of Masayuki the Lightspeed Hero. I will say tho, I think the whole festival plan part was kinda pointless, aren’t we gonna see all of this stuff anyway? I’m sure there will be some surprises beyond the initial plans but eh, could have done without this part of the episode.

However, I did really like Masayuki’s part of the episode, this man is living his own Isekai anime with a whole party and stopping slave trade operations, all while not even intending for any of it lol, this probably is an anime that already exists but it’s fun to see another “main character” within the show. The way he got isekai’d was sus tho, that blue haired babe definitely had something to do with it, I’m looking forward to seeing him interact with Rimuru tho, the OP hints that he will probably be part of the tournament so I’m interested in seeing that as well. And of course Rimuru’s subordinates are ready to pounce on anyone who dares come near Rimuru, thankfully he shut them up lol, would hate if they ruined the chance of something fun happening.

Rimuru just can't get away from speeches huh. Kumara is a nice addition to the cast. Thats a unique way of crossing the realms for sure. Still it was interesting seeing how he met his future team members. Curious to see how Rimuru would deal with the lightspeed hero though.

I overall enjoy the show, but it doesn't have a lot of substance. A lot of it is setting up for a fight that will probably not even be a fight and will take a quarter episode.

Bruh. It felt like I switched to a completely different generic isekai anime halfway through. Wait, is Tensura even a unique isekai anymore?

"I Got Reincarnated And Became a Hero With An Extremely Broken Special Ability Called Plot-Armor That Automatically Fixes All My Problems." Ngl, it sounds convenient at first but it seems like a very frustrating ability. Knowing that all the friends you make and the achievements you have are all fake is probably not good for your mental health.

Haaaah... I hate every single trope associated with the new hero. Manipulated? By that unmitigated b***ard Yuki, absolutely. Lucky? Probably ends up with endless lucky perv moments and everyone involved just squeals and swoons because of the absolute worst... Chosen One? FFS! The sight of people ridiculously wrenching the situation around to elevate him to be the second coming of the god or devil of your choice was just... meh.

He does, praise Rimuru, have a saving grace in that he knows it's a farce and isn't drawn into it to become an arrogant jerk. He seems like a decent enough guy caught up in a shionstorm of nonsense.

Well I can’t lie first half of the episode was kinda boring. It’s nice to see the festival arc coming along well, but think we almost fell back into the table meeting trap. The Masayuki backstory had typical OP isekai protagonist all over it which is funny considering Rimuru is the actual MC here. Masayuki recruiting people basically through pure aura from his chosen one skill was hilarious though.

Yuki playing puppet master and manipulating him is the only issue. Can’t wait to see Rimuru and Masayuki’s meeting next week.

Overall not a lot happening in this episode.

I can only imagine the cries from those who suffer nightmares after seeing Tempest's meeting room appearing once again! XD

Joking aside, the first half was fine in itself, although I'm saddened that Milim had to go back, but it was for understandable reasons. The preparations for the festival itself does sound promising.

The second half was more focused on Masayuki, whose power literally screams to me the funny meme of Luigi winning a Super Smash Bros battle by doing (almost) absolutely nothing. He more or less showcased that most of the time when it came to him winning and recruiting his teammates as well as sorting out the slave trade operations in a small nation in a half serious, half amusing fashion.

Now all that remains is for him to meet with Rimuru in person. I can only imagine now that will turn out!

Haha, man, I was this πŸ‘Œ close to finally dropping this, but fate decided it would be exactly at this episode that Hero Masayuki would show up, and boy, his entire segment was absolutely hilarious, and much better than so many "parody" Isekai/fantasy shows we get every season.
Will this be the big comeback for this season of Slime?

A full season of talking about a festival that will likely take up 1 episode. Even with the new things introduced probably could of gotten by with half as many episodes without missing anything important. Some of the worst storytelling I've probably seen. As for "show don't tell" this is some of the worst "tell" I've experienced. Would of made more sense to have this b-plot as slime diaries and not a core season.

All I can say is as a novel reader (still haven’t caught up yet tho) is that this was a setup episode, which many hate because they don’t like plot developments for some reason. But buckle up cuz its gonna get hilarious. Also everyone talking about lightspeed’s character being questionable but you can tell from the episode that he is more exhausted by his ability. He obviously isn’t a fan of it lmao

This hero Masayuki has basically gotten an insanely high luck skill. From the time he first got transported to this world he's been constantly stumbling upwards. With no intention of his own he's gotten success after success thanks to his skill chosen one. Making everything super easy and lucky for Masayuki. All of these increasingly advantageous heroic attributes have been bestowed upon him by the skill. Making things more or less a cake walk for Masayuki. He's barely had to do anything himself, aside from a few easy fights he's been able to sit back and let events unfold in front of him while still being successful in everything he's done. Through that luck he's become a hero super fast, hence his nickname of light speed, not because he's physically fast but because he's become such a renowned hero so quickly. Mistakenly stumbling into that slave trade agreement that resulted in Masayuki thwarting it all. Escorting the escaped slave elves back to their forest being turned into a story that Masayuki will fight Rimuru is wild but that's the game of telephone for you. Rimuru meanwhile is just preparing for his festival going over the final touches and schedule with everyone. Being informed that Masayuki is on how way. Luckily neither want to fight the other so maybe no unecessary will arise

Well, this is a first for me. Masayuki sounds so freaking boring, that he makes me want to gag and vomit. It's cliche overload...and honestly, it pisses me off how people just fawn over him solely because of his cheat skill. Having shit handed to you with no effort is no fun to watch. I had to speed up his scenes at 2x speed. The populace cheering him on mistakenly thinking he's going to Tempest to slay Demon Lord Rimuru, also pisses me off. It's all cheesy as hell.

@Dukino Nah I actually like Tensura overall, and I’ve actually been enjoying this 2nd cour of Season 3 more than the first by a good margin, I definitely wouldn’t still be here if I hated it, really I just want it to be better. And yeah the PTSD thing is definitely exaggerated, I just thought it was a funny way to describe my displeasure with seeing the table again, sorry if it rubbed you the wrong way.
