Damn, this episode is tough, especially from Guel's point of view.

The odds he had to face agianst he battle and also seeing how desperate the battle had become. Like seriously, battles like this is where real stakes are on the line. Being a mech pilot is tough as it can get. I have to admit, they captured his moments really well in this episode, especially with his emotions.

It was a good episode for Bob's character development.
Damnnn..... a lot of casualties in this episode. RIP little girl, you deserved a better life.

Quiet Zero is based on the concept of plant survival. Hmmm..... Tomato!??!?!

Quite a good Guel episode. Idk if it's just me or what but Earthians are quite annoying. They really be acting like they are constantly being discriminated which they are but they keep making it look like they deserve it. They keep preying on the weak and have a tough time facing normal spacian soldiers. Talking smack but perform worst than a normal soldier. The afro guy is the most annoying character I've ever seen. Man really be talking smack and acting tough while looking like a clown that just got fired. These Earthian characters dosent rub me the right way at all. Every second they appear on screen i just keep hoping somehow they get wiped out smtg. Besides building Guel character I can't see how they are beneficial to the story besides being annoying. The winter soldier looking guy is the only one worth listening and watching. The others not only look annoying, their voice is also annoying as hell. Like goddamn these people are praying to get wiped and taken out. Also the scene of the people evacuating feels like something from Afghanistan. Anyways 7/10 episode. Good story building and simple fights but goddamn the Earthians sure look punchable. If everyone could look like Miorine it would be better.

At last, terrestrial combat.
Dawn of Fold is going to get attacked by the Benerit Group because Nika ratted them out.

Seems Half-Earthian Shaddiq's goal isn't as noble as we thought (or is it?), he also desires profits like Sarius but has thought ahead about what happens after the group drains the Earth dry of resources, both natural and human.

Olcott seems to be an Ex-Dominicus member using his expertise.

Things are still getting worse for Bob.

Guel maturing the same way similarly to Uso from Victory Gundam.

Guel adapted to Earth's gravity quite easily as compared to most other UC Gundam protagonist. Tobia struggled with Earth's gravity in Crossbone Gundam Volume 6, which means Space colonies in Witch From Mercury has similar gravity to the one on Earth.

The situation in Earth is similar to the one in After War Gundam X, ravaged by war. They are rationing water, food and power.

The Spacenoids mobile suits fire purple beams while Earthnoid mobile suits use physical weapons. I am still using UC terminologies due to laziness. :P

Looks like Quiet Zero might be similar to Angel Halo from Victory Gundam. Will Miorine be Shakti that will attempt to stop the conflicts? Well, Miorine and Shakti have completely different personalities.

And why do I keep thinking about Shiba Amou from Kyoukai Senki in this episode? >_<

Overall an interesting ep that really did well to showcase a different POV for the narrative in the form of the earth based rebels and the civilians that they protect. This contrasted well with the corpo stuff that we seen so far and made them just as relatable as the students in my eyes. The scene where the kid confronted Guel about her father's death was a powerful one that showed this the best. It's nice to see Guel get back on his feet by seeing first hand what the corpo's were doing to the earthians though. Question is what he would do next to achieve his goal. The same for Miorine as well.

Wow. What an episode!
The best one in the series (taking the previous half into account as well) so far. I have always liked Guel.

Thought the father/child thing (episode name) would refer to Miorine or Shaddiq. With Guel maybe returning to rescue some people in the school. Did not expect him to actually get that much screentime - and almost a full episode. The father/child thing also referred to the girl that died (and her father) ... and Olcott. And they also fit in Shaddiq and after the credits Miorine talking about her mother + father with that other guy.

Great episode. And it did not feel too over the top in trying to give Guel a char development. That the girl died ... felt pretty sad. But more realistic and fitting the situation.
I only did not understand the whole political thing. There is not not enough focus on this for me to remember everything. I guess they blame Nika for finding out about their base on earth + the Beneritt group now having attacked there. But Shaddiq seems to try to end the war as well? (With some other means though.)

Great episode, first season was really a prologue, from ep 12 onwards we're getting traction to the big story trainwreck that we love in Gundam

It looks like Miorine's Tomatoes are connected with Quiet Zero, we now have several plot points on the table to move the story forward, I'm starting to believe we're going to get a third season looking at the amount of plot we have in this episode. Guel is starting to become the star of the show, his character development is incredible.

(The spectrum change to Eri in the opening made me tear up a little)

Best episode by far. Please let us ditch Suletta and never go back to that stupid school again. Make Guel the protagonist from now on.

Also is it just me or does Shaddiq’s great plan seems to be just as short-sighted as McGillis‘ from IBO?

Finally, this show is shaping up to be what I've been waiting for so long, this right here, this is Gundam! Individual struggles in the midst of grand political ambitions and the gut wrenching morality of war.

I'm so glad to see ma boi Guel back, honestly after this episode he has officially become my favourite, the character development he went through after being bitch slapped by the maiden that is reality was extremely satisfying, why isn't this guy the mc again? I'm really hoping that Suletta also goes through the same level of development because holy fuck, has she not even progressed an inch (compared to Guel). I hope they keep up this level and seriousness in the upcoming episodes.

Guel got kidnapped by Earthians, wow. The Earthians are prepared for an battle against the Spacians. Nika got beaten up hard, goddamn.

That was some heavy battle scenes, which i liked. RIP to all who died in the process. Guel got set free. RIP to the girl who got crushed, she deserved better imho. Miorine wanting to know more about Quiet Zero so she goes and asks someone. This was an episode without Suletta but it was still intense to watch.

With how things are going, I suspect there's going to be another round of suffering in the form of Guel and his little brother ending up with different viewpoints about their family's direction, thus leading to another conflict where Guel is forced to fight his bro.

It's honestly impressive how far has Guel Jeturk fallen from that first duel with Suletta. Not only did he lost Miorine's hand, he lost contact with his family, his company, his father died and now he was being the prisioner of the Earthians for a negotiation. And just when he was starting to act up to save this one kid who treated him dirty for his own reasons, he was injured and Guel couldn't save him. I'm interested in seeing just how he'll overcome this situation as much as the political conflict sparred by Shaddiq.

Guel keeps being the most interesting character of G-Witch, I'm eager to see his eventual reunion with Lauda. I guess we'll see why Sabina insisted on keeping Nika alive, is not like the school is out of trouble with the aftermath of the terrorist attack.

Shaddiq's plan is extremely dumb, does he think other Spacians won't retaliate against his actions? Is there even any executive staff in Grassley besides his adoptive father to allow his actions? Guess I'm putting too much thought on it.

Hope we can finally know whatever Quiet Zero is in the next episode. Also poor Suletta and the other Earth kids didn't even get mentioned on this episode lol.

Guel is going through it man. That dude is getting out through the ringer, emotionally, physically, and psychologically. Guel murdered his own father while he was trying to look for him on that battlefield. It was really tough seeing Guel be force fed food at the beginning of the episode. His mind shattered fixated on apologising to his dad. Focusing on this rebel group now makes sense, we just had multiple huge revelations at the school so we will focus this episode somewhere else really quick. The rebel group that's responsible for the attack on the school at the end of last cour. Guel being stuck with them sucks, like I said I feel so badly for him. Even those little kids hate him since some of their parents died in the attack. We're really spotlighting the grueling war aspect of this show. There had only been small mention of the earth and space conflict.

Shaddiq talking to his father this episode revealed there's constant wars on earth that's why it's so destitute. Shaddiq wanting to stop the wars by making one group so powerful the others wouldn't dare to fight. Its a dangerous and risky plan but the people of earth have become twisted by the horrible conditions there that Shaddiq thinks this is a good idea for earth citizens. Great battles this episode between the rebel group and the garrison forces. I always love seeing mobile suit action, much more intense this time and usual for this show since we're not in a safe school environment. Guel carrying that little girl out broke my heart. Her dying in his arms just as he escaped in that mobile suit. This episode did a great job making sure we see how terrible war makes things.

An episode with zero screentime for Suletta, Prospera and Aerial, who are my favorite characters. Yet I still loved it!

Poor Guel. If only he never messed with Miorine's tomatos. Life could be so much easier for him... I guess he wants to save Lauda and the company now, but how?

And Shaddiq is the "prince" of the earthians. That's no suprise, but it seems his intents aren't as mad as his soldiers.
The war on earth was interesting to see. More development on Olcott's forces and Domenicus was nice. I wonder if the next arc will be about dealing with the Earth situation. Because as of now, Suletta and Miorine aren't involved in this subplot at all.

Finally, I wonder if Chuchu is connected to all this. I recall she has friends on an Earth Resistance Organisation, so she might get dragged in next.

This episode further solidifies how much I don't care for the main characters, and Guel being one of the better characters of this show, and probably the most interesting. From being a high-status person at the academy, to virtually losing it all. The guilt he has, to the reveal that his company has gone bankrupt, it's rough for him.

How about we just make Guel the main character? How long must we go without Suletta and Miorine seeing each other again? If this cour is going to end off the series like some have said, the remaining episode pacing will go at warp-speed, if it hasn't already.

Guel is the only good character in the entire series, they should get rid of both Suletta, Miorine and their stupid plot armor and make Guel the MC. Miorine and Guel exchanging places would have been great too, I hate how Miorine always manages to avoid the worst of it.

Bob still recovering from major trauma, but he just can't catch a break. The little girl dying in his arms scene broke me...

Honestly, Guel's come such a long way. From seemingly a bully who belittled women, to deciding to be brave for Suletta, to losing everything and then his father amidst the chaos, now this... His role is almost more significant than the Suletta/Miorine yuri element by now.

it was nice to see some action worthy of the name Gundam, if only this show didn't just randomly puts the viewer into a random place with characters that are barely introduced.

This show has little respect for it's characters. Sophie's death barely had any impact, we didn't even get to see Suletta on this episode or she reminiscing over what just happened, we just saw Nika getting shoe sandwiched by this blue haired girl which name I already forgot. ( And this show keeps not addressing the end of episode 12, nor does it even continue from the "reveal" of Eri being in a Gundam as a sentient being)

After that, we're randomly thrown at earth, to a random base with characters we barely know, surprise, Guel is in here, This show, after 4 episodes (Counting last episode of first cour) decides to remember that Guel existed, and not only that, it gives him a random 5 minutes redemption arc in which he stands up after being depressed and decides to continue the legacy of his family, after being the god damn black sheep that ruined it all. So damn believable. This episode was the equivalent of being spit to the face, there was no emotional investment here, we don't know who these characters are or what is at stake, they're just there battling for the sake of who knows what, and Guel is there for some reason, but since this anime seems to not know what the fuck it's even doing, we have no prior knowledge as to why things are happening, they just happen, and we're left perplexed wondering how such a show can be so damn inept at doing anything.

Weird that a centric episode actually ends up as probably the best episode of the show until now.
Aside from the unavoidable issues created by Okouchi itself -By never really showing us the Earth until now, it's downright impossible for me to care about the new characters nor fully understand the conflict going on- but as usual, everything involving Guel since his loss is good, if not actually pretty great, kickstarting an actually interesting character development.

That kind of episode really should have been WAY earlier so that it would be easier to actually care about both sides of the conflict, because until now, the earthian antagonists have been sociopathic bastards and not the secrectly-kind-with-kids figures they tried to paint here. (Sophie, from socioapthic cyber-newtype to big sister figure ? I wasn't expecting it)

Since Okouchi was too busy playing Hogwarts in space until now, he kinda forgot to really explain what is going on on Earth, resulting this : nobody actually cares, and the conflict isn't really explained in the slightest.

That outcome isn't really surprising, it was to be expected.
