Nah I got into the hobby right around my birthday back in May, I just happened to get loads of money specifically for Gunpla for Christmas and bought a ton of new ones haha. HG Barbatos is a solid kit aside from the fact that the pinkish symbols on its shoulders and knees are stickers that are quite hard to line up correctly; I've heard some details on the Lupus and Lupus Rex are also stickers, plus the Lupus Rex's claws aren't even yellow so you'd have to paint them. Dunno about the Hyaku Shiki, though I do want it myself.

As you can tell by my scores, I've also generally preferred everything after 0079 to it.

...But yeah I wanted to branch away from UC Gunpla because I already have 7 done with 4 of them (MG F91, MG Banshee, HG Sinanju, HG Zeta) being UC compared to 3 AU (MG Wing TV verson, HG Barbatos, and RG Gold Frame Amatsu Mina). Once everything comes in and get built I guess I'll actually have a majority AU kits, haha. It's okay though there are a ton of specifically Unicorn kits I want so I know I'll just wind up getting a UC majority again...


Yeah G Gundam has been so much fun for me, it's hitting this nigh-perfect mix of over-the-top action and serious story for me that it could quite possibly become my second favorite of the AUs (barring it somehow making me vomit, there's no way it'll pass IBO) as long as the last stretch of episodes nails the ending.


About 0079, honestly you're not missing much by skipping the TV series since you already watched the movies. You'll see some cool fights that didn't make it into the movies and a couple filler-y kind of plots (like the cook on the White Base making them take a detour because he needs salt, for example) if you DO check it out though, but it's not necessary unless you feel like rewatching all of UC Gundam at some point. Also the third movie in particular was way better than the last part of the show, just saying.
