This felt fitting for a mid-season episode, almost like a mid-season finale. Saito and the adventurers faced off against perhaps their strongest enemy to date yet.

On the other hand, I'm glad to see Morlock get some spotlight outside of his comic relief moments. Really, he is a valuable member on the party.

That was a tragic past from the old man. Able to be the grand sorcerer, but at what cost? In the end, he lost everything even his own memories and that certificate was just a piece of paper.

Man poor Morlock man. I kinda of have an issue with the Wizard erasing all his memories and not just the memories of his daughter. He didn't reward Morlock at all for giving him his best fight. Kinda lame imo.

But man I wonder if the mind erasure has the lingering affects which makes Morlock forgetful overtime or if thats just him being an old man.

Morlock risked it all for fame and fortune and lost literally everything. Sad.

Saitou was goated in this episode as well.

Very nice episode.

Morlock's backstory was tragic, he lost everything even his memories.

He managed to stop time but what now? He can't even remember his spells so how's he gonna defeat that thing.

Wiping morlock’s memories of his daughter is crueler than any punishment. Idk who that other mage was but that was some evil shit. And it wasn’t even just the memories of his daughter that was wiped but literally everything and he’s got permanent memory issues as a result

Before this ep, I was kinda thinking that Raelza would end up being the daughter that he was able to bring back or rewind time for

I guess all that modern earth stuff in the cave came from that other mage who was trying to make contact with earth. Probably couldn’t pull a person so it kept pulling other stuff until we got to saitou.

genuinely thought Morlock forgetfulness was just solely for comedic purposes, to think it had such a serious background to the reasoning....

That has an unexpectedly dark origin story for Morlock, or should I say Chrome. We also got a half answer regarding the Saitou tunnel and how did all those things end up there as well as himself.

The plot thickens.

That was a sad backstory for Morlock, and one needed to balance out his comedic moments. Makes him bit more of an important character in this show, and we'll see how he makes use of the time stoppage. Yet another rough cliffhanger.

Sad backstory for Morlock. I was thinking that his daughter that was unconscious was Raelza but I'm not completely sure, I hope that its explained how Morlock adopted Raelza if its a different girl or how they got reunited if it is the same girl.

This episode felt a bit like a finale minus the cliffhanger. Hopefully Morlock remembers what he needs to do and disables that eye-wall monster thing.

have to admit it scared me to see the show shifting away from the fast paced witty sketch comedy which made it so fun, but it's handling this heavy drama too

Morlock really has a rough past, what a cruel twist to not only fail your family but then as you go to try to save them have everything else you are stolen from you by the whims of some random god like being.

Morlock has such a sad backstory. The things you do for the people you care about may differ from the things they want from you. He was cursed with Amnesia in an attempt to cure him of his sadness. Not the worst thing you could do to resolve that situation, but not very good either. Excited to see how Morlock handles his 100 seconds of time stop, hopefully it isn't wasted all on forgetfulness!

Damn, I really thought Raelza was his daughter, given that she looks like his daughter and they share a last name. But then I remembered the dwarf saying that Morlock wasn't his real name, so that wouldn't have been Raelza's surname

nah fuck that random entity
Morlock deserved to turn back time for his daughter bruh
Also i think morlock meant to summon the entity and brought over Saitou and thought he messed up. But the entity might have reincarnated and became Saitou since it was over 20 years ago

As I see it, erasing only the memories of his daughter would still leave him with some bad feelings, like the greed of wanting to be a grand sorcerer that could make him make mistakes again, or the guilt of what happened even if he doesn't remember it. Wizard wanted him to have a clean new start.

For the love of god Morlock don't choke.

Didn't Raelza during the duel with the elf introduce herself as Raelza Morlock? made me think they could be related and that daughter did look like Raelza, makes me wonder if the mother found a way to revive her?

I think Raelza is his wife's daughter from another father. The mother likely remarried and had a child before she died and could've entrusted Raelza to him since he's the only person left that could raise her.

The dungeon calamity continues, and not even Handyman Saitou is prepared for such a case like this. It's only up to Morlock to defeat the tower using magic, but it's magic of the most powerful kind, like time-stopping magic, because that's how he used it to summon Saitou.

Before that, Morlock isn't the same spell-forgetting old geezer that he was, being called Chrome and having a daughter that was health-ridden, and despite his wife's requests for him to stay at home, Morlock chooses to forgo his child for the sake of being the greatest mage. This outcome, resulted in the death of their daughter, not enough money to pay for their daily expenses, and his wife eventually leaving him. That is, until the moment of when he encountered time-stopping magic in the Great Labyrinth, and desperately needed magic to turn back time to save his daughter, fighting to the death with the sorcerer who wrote it. However, instead of time-stopping magic, he had actually lost his memories entirely, paid for his sins in full, and now named as Morlock.

Back to reality, and even with one spell, it's good enough to try, for Saitou can only remember 1 incantation, and that's more than enough for him who got summoned into the world. Thus, the plan has to go like clockwork, and as much as time must be given for Morlock to complete the spell incantation, to protect him with all that they've got.

Time has stopped for all but Morlock, but beng the all-forgetful geezer, within the count to 100, he has to do something. Yet another brutal cliffhanger...

This is not the show I was expecting from the first couple of episodes. Morlocks backstory was tragic and really well done. The teams work so well together to fight one of the ugliest cg pillars that is not as interesting of a boss monster. I look forward to Morlocks redemption if he can down the big bad next week.

Ah look another dark and deep backstory which comes from the old senile great sorcerer Morlock aka Chrome-san whose losing his sick daughter alone then somehow manage to stay alive after fighting those otherworldy entity but sadly receive a curse, suffered a memory lost, thanks to the fight against that being. After a lot of consideration ahead, and Saitou patience leading those old man, he manage to cast a time stopping spell only to then forget why he stopped the time! As ridiculuous as its sounds, this first long run actually manage to make me feel nice and looking forward to see what's next...

wow that was so sad but unfortunately he had no one to blame but himself he neglected his family. I understand he wanted to be the greatest sorcerer but that coasted him big. and for what just some silly piece of paper , I didn't think his short term memory was anything serious but turns out it had a bigger backstop then we thought

Didn't expect this old man has such deep backstory.
Guess the series change some direction from being a 4 penal slice of life manga into a fully flash out manga with overarching story.
Interesting development, glad I didnt drop at ep1 when I see how they cut so many small story into one episode.

So that's the reason he forgets everything. That mage of time wiped his memories and now he just seems like an old senile man to everyone. I can't believe he forgot what he was supposed to do in that crucial moment. It's pretty bad that time stopped for literally everyone except him. How is he going to cast spells without Saitou.

All that other discussion aside, the demon seems to be essentially a stationary turret.

Why didn't they just go back around the corner to regroup?  Pretty standard in dungeon crawling when you come up against a powerful opponent who can't move.  Abuse line of sight.
