The love charade between Luou, Junpei and Miyako, it's just like their Swan Lake performance at the mid-way mark, only now that Luou is still vying for acceptance as Rothbart and dancing his own style of ballet that's fully backed by emotions, just like Junpei's. TRULY MAJESTIC by the beachside for Luou, finally earning his grandmother and Miyako's acceptance for completing Mazuru's dance and being his life-long support respectively that's a family affair, a toxic cousin codependence relationship.

Ayako Oikawa's final day of the Boys' Summer Class: perform Swan Lake's Siegfried variation. and Misaki's elegant dance catches the many pairs on eyes on display, not dancing based on emotions. And with that, the summer school session is over, awaiting the selected candidate...that Junpei is not willing to let Ayako off the hook, and drag her back to the dance studio to at least watch his performance. being wet from the rain, and with one leap, he changed the atmosphere around with his un-princely aura that's both like and unlike the Siegfried depiction.

Even when he looks down and out, the imagery of Rothbart (Luou) stealing Odette (Miyako) away existing in his mind, yet the feeling never wavers for once for a musical story of a depiction so raw, so emotional you can't help but gasp in awe and wonder. The boy whom lacks experience but has the talent to back it all up, it's intense, and something like that truly deserves an ovation. Even Granny pianist Tsumamura followed Junpei's rhythm and lead the pace, but even in the end, this to Ayako Oikawa, isn't true ballet, and he would cut all ties with Chizuru's Godai Ballet Studio to be fully trained by her to earn the scholarship while Misaki lost his spot.

5 adapted volumes of Dance Dance Danseur, not rushed at all, and a wonderful finale. Definitely enjoyable.

Ahh... it ended already. 11 episodes weren't enough for this show from the very beginning. And, yes I'm gonna miss this show quite a lot. Flawed and childish characters, amazing animation from the beautiful staff over at MAPPA, surprisingly a very engaging story. Gotta check out the other Askaura-sensei works.

I didn't expect that this will be my Anime of the Season but here it is. I loved this anime a lot. The pace was a bit fast but I think for a show like this, it fits perfectly. As for the final episode, I think they ended it perfectly. Also, it was a Munehisa Sakai and Hajime Ootani episode, so it was bound to be really beautiful and amazing which it was. Holy shit... that animation, that storyboarding... AHHH...

That dance at the beach was so beautiful, Seeing Junpei watching all that from afar was painful but Junpei went back to perform on the last day of Summer Camp, and he finally wants to learn ballet professionally and for that, he's devoted. I'm happy that he found his way and he also got that scholarship. Good for you, Junpei. I'm rooting for you. A great final episode. Hopefully, a second season, someday.

A beautiful episode, for a beautiful series.

Who had the best look in this episode: Chizuru with her somber looks.

I really liked that Jumpei stayed with the Oikawa Company, a company that just want to be the best.
Meanwhile being with Godai Studio would mostly bring toxic drama.

Jumpei chose Oikawa as expected. Nice conclusion to this great cour, even tho it felt merely like the prequel. MAPPA is a busy studio, so the wait for S2 will be a struggle...

Jumpei danced way better with Natsuki, other than the crashing part, than he ever did with Miyako so I think it's for the best that he went with Oikawa.

Gotta give props to every animator involved. One of the most beautifully animated anime I’ve ever watched. 11 episodes of sakuga.

Now, I still feel quite in disagreement with many of the choices made by the protagonists. Jumpei staying at Oikawa, Luou not being given the scolariship and going back to the grandma etc… the only thing I’m glad it happened, is Jumpei pairing with Natsumi. They have amazing chemistry so at the end of the day I’m very much conflicted about Jumpei taking the scholarship. I’m happy he gets to stay with Natsumi, but not in the toxic environment that is Oikawa.

Other than that, story needed at least 2 cours. It feels very much uncompleted. But despite that, a project masterfully put together. I hope it gets a second season cause I want to see more of it. 9/10.

A solid ending, although I am left with many unresolved questions. I may start the manga in hopes of these questions getting answered.

For example, Jumpei and Miyako seemed so in love for like half an episode, then suddenly in the finale Miyako seemed to pick Luou over Jumpei. Is this the end of their temporary love story or is there more coming? I know romance is not the center of this anime but it just feels like the anime left off in a weird place despite the main plot point being resolved. Either way it's a solid 8/10 for me, definitely one of my favorites this season.

The entire opening scene was a massive flex from MAPPA (although they've been flexing hard throughout the entire show), but the thing that really gets me is the design on this fabric, which is actually matching its movements accordingly rather than remaining stationary as is usually seen.

This anime was beautiful. If not for the visuals, I probably wouldn't have picked this one up as I'm not really that into dramas like these. But I ended up liking the characters, and liking the story. And of course it just looks stunning. MAPPA really went to town on this one, and I am genuinely surprised how it hasn't gotten more recognition that it already has. 7/10

It ends on a mostly satisfactory note for me, but will still be definitely be keeping an eye out for a S2 announcement.

He did it.
Ruo got to break free, the scene was awesome. And Junpei went to the audition and showed what he learned, very good scene. Junpei got the scholarship, he left behind everything Chizuru taught him to learn new things from Oikawa.
Very good chapter. I liked this anime, the animation was very good. We'll have to see if they confirm a second season. But well, very good anime.

Luou's dance was just pure brilliance from MAPPA. Jumpei's was also good but Luou's was just on another level. My prediction of Miyako and Jumpei ending up together missed but that's fine since she chose him in the end herself instead of being motivated by guilt which I feared might have been the case.

So glad Jumpei was selected. I really like Oikawa's motivations so I'm glad we will get to see her and Jumpei take steps to bring that to fruition.

Oh man, I really need a second season, really feel attached to this anime and the character, a perfect end.

Luou dancing in the beach was so amazing and beautiful, my favorite character in DDD as far.

Junptei part was really good too, and he choose Oikawa, a challenge to a person like him.

Really the hidden gem in this season, hope people started to have interest watch this later.

Oh wow, I almost cried when Junpei started dancing before Oikawa and it became that he's using classical ballet as a literal protection shield against all the misery that happened hours before. That dramatic entrance when he slammed the door frame, though, lol.

Congrats to Luou,I guess. Successfully guilt-tripped Miyako into becoming his girlfriend. Not toxic at all /s. She'll be miserable her whole life, he won't ever learn to be a normal, functioning human being. Honestly feels gross how that played out. Highlight moment: When Godai told Junpei: "This is a family matter now.". I literally screamed at the screen: "WE KNOW", rofl.

Also, when Junpei told Oikawa to beat him into shape and she accepted, that felt like Anakin Skywalker becoming Darth Vader, LOL. Literally joining the evil side :D But I love it, because it's so surprising, really nice.

Now pls, PLS give us season 2, and sooner rather than later. Easily my favorite anime of the season.
If you haven't watched "Fantastic Children", don't talk about "best anime". Thank you.

That scene with Miyako, Junpei and Luou dancing confused me. If this were a more abstract anime, it wouldn't have confused me as much since I wouldn't be looking for the logic behind some of the things as I did here.

When the grandmother got up from her wheelchair, I was like she must have hated the performance so much that she got up to leave.

When Junpei pulled Oikawa by the wrist, it was funny. lol

Yamato is frickin' tall! His face and his head-to-body ratio makes him look like he'd be on the shorter side of average height, but he's not! lol

I just learnt keigo, so listening to Oikawa speaking in keigo was interesting.

I take a look on manga, and honestly, I don't think rushed anything, the manga just have few painels in the chapters.

Just the beach part in the begin of this episode, is literally 2 chapters.

I’m happy the love triangle is over with and now Junpei can learn the right way to dance ballet. It’s not that he couldn’t before but with Oikawa he’ll be on a very short leash. Godai was stern but I think she had too much of a soft spot for Junpei, he won’t get that with Oikawa. Also Natsuki has more talent than Miyako, so as a dance partner he’s better off with her. Let’s hope we get to see another season.

The Junpei story as a ballet dancer really made get attached to the series . Romance aside it was a very well concluded relationship between junpei , luo and miyako.

Great episode. I would have preferred if Junpei and Natsuki had joined Godai. And more explanation with the grandmother. But with this being the last episode - they managed to time it very well ... giving each parts just barely enough time to make it feel good.

Godai arriving at the beach and basically giving Junpei her okay to change to Oikawa - made this work out pretty well even though I had preferred a different outcome.

Natsuki got a little bit screentime. I just can't understand how he will fit in at Oikawa's. With the different style that actually is his unique strenght. Which they want to change there - and he begs Oikawa to train and change him. But maybe this can be incoroprated - getting better at the basic classic stuff while still doing a bit of his own things? I guess manga readers will know. Might start to read the manga.

Amazing, it was an amazing episode to end the season and omg, mappa went HARD for this episode. The anime had one of the most exciting cast of characters I have seen in a while and the story and interactions felt new. The only thing that makes me sad is how underrated it is and this will definitely reduce its chances of getting a 2nd season. Though I want to be optimistic and hopefully they will adopt all of it. If that didn't happen I will read the manga, but I feel like it won't be the same without the great music and animation.

Some strong composition, but I still don't know if it balanced out with how much many of the characters annoyed me at times. It's fine for the characters to be flawed and young and stupid. They can make the wrong choices and bully or return to traumas or lock themselves to another's well being. If you want to have that realism, though, the writing has to bear it out. Too often I felt it dancing away from conclusion or consequence supported by the odd behavior of the adult characters and an incongruous everything will work out attitude. Undecided if I'd watch another season.

Jumpei surprising wasn't too annoying for my taste. I'm not always a fan of brash characters but in his case it makes more sense on why he is his the ways he is. Really good animation throughout the show, glad I got to enjoy it every week.

Good for Jumpei getting that scholarship at the end, he failed in one way but excelled in charisma by entrancing the audience by his dance. I'd argue he's got one of the hardest things to capture just by being himself.

A true hidden gem of a show.

Great ending if it's a prequel, but mildly painful if it's a real finale. It was wrapped up too cleanly. But at the very least, it's apparent that even if Jumpei isn't the most superior ballet performer, he needs this scholarship the most to hone his skills. And almost everyone recognizes that. Still I'm guessing Luou will remeet after crafting his own path (which we now know isn't meant to be in Russia but whereever Miyako leads him). Additionally even though Jumpei's learned and improved a lot, they most importantly show he hasn't lost his unique edge that makes his shows good -- the charisma.

The performance at the Beach was spectacular! I must admit I felt sad for Jumpei to leave Miyako behind with the rest of her family, but it was for a good cause :) and I wish she could see him again in the future.

I mean, let's be realistic a bit... I think it's unfair giving the circumstances and how the scholarship would have led to Misaki if Jumpei hadn't show up. It was a big risk for him to appear at that precise moment and ask for a chance because in a way, Jumpei would have lost the opportunity, and it was nice of Miss Oikawa to open up the horizon and watch closely the progress during the program. Would she regret the decision for giving the scholarship to Jumpei instead of Misaki? No, maybe not. That's why this needs a second season, cuz so far Jumpei showed he have potential and since he loves ballet, it's a go for the future. 7/10

Not sure how I feel about this. It was emotional and powerful but the implications of the first half of the episode were concerning. I got that Miyako chose Luou over Junpei but...like, in a romantic way? Uh... Even if they weren't cousins, they don't have a very healthy relationship. Luou in particular needs therapy more than anything lol. Hopefully the Godai family is developed more and they aren't just sidelined when Junpei joins Oikawa. I need to read the manga lol.

It was nice to see Misaki get humbled after all that bs he pulled but it would have been even funnier if Oikawa just refused to watch Junpei lmao. Though I kinda felt bad when she led Misaki on when he was really just her backup choice

6/10 but my opinion heavily depends on where it goes from here. dance dance danseur manga here I come

I thought the granny would utter Luou's name for a second there, but I guess he wasn't on her mind at all in her dementia dilemma. I felt for him a lot, keep ya head up boy. As for Jumpei, amazing everyone with his reinvention, I'm totally impressed. He deserves that scholarship, after all he did boldly man-handled Ayako sensei into the audition, what a stud. I wonder if things between him and Miyako are done.

Meh, the series was a little shaky. But managed to recover a little at the end. Pace was good though.

BRAVA BRAVA BRAVA!!

Good show, thanks MAPPA for delivering a gem of a show for us.

It certainly helps, if you have some kind of interest in ballet, but the anime provides a good entry for newcomers to this perfoming art.

The drama is probably above average for anime standards and is a nice touch for the story, certainly something you don't see often.. MC getting the main girl, but oh wait, it's not really the main girl. She is just a vehicle for his personal development and is let go at the end of the arc so he can progress further. You could see that coming a couple of eps back and wasn't coming out of nowhere, so I'm not complaining.
