Some people are so cruel in this show. Poor Pawoo. You can see the anger on Milo's face when he confronts her abductor.

Not going to lie, that may be one of the most dangerous enemy Bisco faced this episode, especially with his Rust arrows. I like the psychological impact of this episode though, especially for Milo. Kurokawa seems like the type of sociopath who enjoys inflicting pain on others.

Milo's courage is very admirable this episode imo.

But anyway, the next episode title is "I love you"

Kenjiro Tsuda is having fun voicing the kind of character he specialized the most.

But even his intimidating voice doesn't take away the fact that this episode is such a love story, Kurokawa mention that Bisco is "Tuxedo Mask", a reference to character in Sailor Moon, and in case you don't know, Tuxedo Mask is Sailor Moon's love interest.

So who's Sailor Moon in this story? The next episode "I Love You" might reveal that. Though I think we can all agree that this person's family name is "Nekoyanagi".

The battle to defeat Kurokawa coming at a terrible cost. Everyone might be alive but our two boys aren't looking good by the end of the episode. It's funny the random types of mushrooms this show comes up with that have super specific effects. Like the puppet mushroom this episode, that's some crazy shit to have. Kurokawa pulling out all his trap cards, the dude even has a metal arm with that tiny arrow launcher. Milo had some valiant effort trying to save Jabi and Pawoo even having some tricks up his own sleeves but Kurokawa just outsmarted him. Milo couldn't have known Kurokawa would have that puppet mushroom, once he was hit with that it was over for him.

I was waiting for Bisco to show up and he finally did. Nearly saving Milo but again Kurokawa just won't die and keep firing those puppet mushroom arrows at the boys. Very sad seeing Milo nearly have to kill Bisco, those kinds of scenes are always the worst. Jabi swooping in like a guardian angel to rescue them. Pawoo already freed and now guarding the boys at they make a break for it. Kurokawa knows the secrets of the rust eater mushrooms, the boys have each been hit with rust infecting arrows, things look their absolute bleakest right now.

Man this episode was intense. That fucking ending, why would they not show us if Milo is safe or not AAAAAAAAAAAA

Me after seeing next episode title: hmmmmmmmmmmm

They showed us the full TV announcement, no wonder Milo went crazy after seeing that announcement.

Damn Kurokawa was a mushroom keeper as well, fucking uragimono, sold off his own people for personal gain.

The whole fight scene and Kurokawa controlling Milo to shoot Bisco and stuff was really intense. Glad Jabi managed to escape, he pulled some crap and melted the lock lmao. He even ended up saving Pawoo, Bisco and Milo.

I don't understand why they didn't kill Kurokawa, I mean the man's coming to kill you why won't you kill him? Did they really think they could escape from there just like that?

That last scene with multiple arrows piercing Milo was hard to watch.

This was a pretty great episode overall. Solid 5/5. Can't wait for next week, I hope Milo is safe and also we need more Jabi and Pawoo as well, wouldn't mind some Jellyfish either.

Upgraded my rating from 7->8 after watching this episode.

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like all of this could've been avoided so easily that seeing them make one stupid decision after another just kinda took me out of what was happening. Have been liking the show so far so I hope it doesn't keep falling into plot-convenient stupidity again. (Praying for my boy Milo)

Well damn, Milo DID abandon Bisco to find Governor Kurokawa to get Jabi and Pawoo back after seeing the TV telecast which was just pure torture and a full-scale threat.

There's no choice for Milo but to trade info...but not without a trick of the trade learnt from Bisco to catch them. And thus, Kurokawa finally showed his hand that he's also a Mushroom Keeper, but his effect is the usual villainous fiendish way of using people as pawns. But still, Milo standing his ground is commendable enough to give enough time for Bisco to arrive.

Bisco is Milo's "Tuxedo Mask" (which is a nice Sailor Moon reference), but it does not take away the effect that Kurokawa's Mushroom knowledge depth is even deeper than Milo himself, always at the space to use people for his gain until they're dead. Not gonna lie, it's intense to see the face-off between Kurokawa, Bisco and Milo, only that I didn't expect that Jabi was the hidden trump card of a character to save them all out of danger. He'd save them back at Imihama for Milo's sake, and he's gonna do the same here once again for both Bisco and Milo's escape to stay alive.

More than Actagawa saving their hornshoes, it's the sacrifice of one another that keeps the show entertaining. Both Bisco and Milo are literally comrades in arms now.

yea no ive read the first volume of the lns and bisco and milo only love eachother as friends and partners in crime. dont think thats ever going to change

biscos probably gonna end up with pawoo if even anyone and milo x tirol shippers are probably crying in a corner that tirol only appears like once every arc and therefore cant get in a relationship with a main character due to anime rules

Yes exactly!!! That made absolutely no sense, they won he was lying wounded and defenseless on the floor, and he just tried to kill all of them and Jabi and his sister. Kill him, or at least tie him up. Ugh and it was so good up until that point to. It's like someone went, oops we still have to fill 4 episodes can't let them win already.

Actually there are some species of fungi that, once the host is infected, condition it to do what the fungus "wants". For example: Ophiocordiceps unilateralis (the zombie ant fungus).

I love Kenjirou Tsuda in villain roles, he's got such a great voice for that and I love that this episode gave him plenty of time to showcase his talents and chew up the scenery. That said, the fact that Kurokawa, Milo and Bisco all survived this despite taking so many direct hits ended up feeling pretty stupid and takes away a lot of the stakes from everything; at the very least it's not like the series needs Kurokawa around as the villain to progress, so they could've killed him off at least.

Seems crazy to me how much the stakes have been raised already. I thought this was going to be a much longer adventure type story with world building. Instead it feels like major climax that could end the show. Is this really a series that fully ends in 12 eps? It's got an ongoing manga so how tf is that possible. Also I'm calling bullshit on Kurokawa not being killed there. Like bruh you had so much time to off him.

Would’ve been better if not for all the censorship.

Kurokawa’s VA is having a blast with his role so that was fun, and the fight between him and our protagonists was entertaining for a bit. No reason they didn’t kill him when they had the chance and also no reason Akutagawa was so far away. Theres nothing that they can really do against him in a surprise attack situation.

I don’t think Milo is dead, but if he is then it’s because of some bullshit.

As expected, Milo confronted Kurokawa, but not without a few tricks up his sleeve. Of course none of his tricks ended up working out, even Bisco showing up at a great time wasn’t enough, Kurokawa is a formidable foe, being more than just a government guy with a gun lol, it’s also revealed he was a mushroom keeper which explains a lot. Of course Jabi ends up being our saving grace, Kurokawa gets to very near death as our boys escape, only for Jabi to be captured again and Milo to appear to be near death himself, then final scene tho where he tells Bisco to not die, very good stuff.

This episode was crazy fun, high stakes and a dire situation, Kurokawa playing his villain role well, really enjoyed it. I’m also glad to see Pawoo saved as well, can’t forget about the waifu!

Yeah, it was too much. Felt like they really dropped the ball this episode at probably one of the most important parts of the story. It felt rushed, felt like they forced uncharacteristically dumb decisions on characters to push for a certain narrative, and it was all incredibly predictable. I'm usually pretty good at suspending disbelief, but it just got worse and worse as the episode progressed. Unfortunate, because I've loved the show up until now.

The fight with Kurokawa was kind of over the top, the literal infodump lacked impact because of how lunatic it seemed, also not disabling a person that can control a squad of zombies seems like a 0 IQ move, but whatever, Jabi had some serious Iroh+Bumi vibes and that was fine. The puppet power seems cool too, I like how it brings a bunch of unfiltered parallels to the world while not being completely dull.

The reveal of Kurokawa being a Mushroom Keeper isn't too surprising if you realize how resistant his airship was to Bisco and Milo's arrows from the prior episode, which foreshadowed this as he likely had knowledge on how to neutralize the effects of the arrows fired by Mushroom Keepers. This also explains how those who went to work with him in Milo's village winded up looking like they were brainwashed. Final four episodes should prove interesting enough in this latest twist.
