Just another guy who enjoys animation and graphic novels of the nipponic persuasion
-0/no score: sometimes it's just something I haven't watched/read it in a long time, but for the most part, it's a piece of media so radically out of the norm that it defies a numerical rating altogether. It's either so-bad-it's-good, or just too weird and out there to be classified.
-1/10: the worst. The type that makes you question "why does this exist?". So bad it becomes offensive, and makes your blood boil in disgust and rage at the thought of having wasted your time experiencing it.
-2/10: very bad. Awful in almost every possible way. It may have one redeeming quality, but it's not worth it.
-3/10: bad. A failure that veers into offensive territory for it's lack of charm, substance and/or competence. It can come off as entertaining in a trashy way, but it depends.
-4/10: not good. An underwhelming piece of media. There could be potencial in certain aspects, but the execution it's subpar, or just not compelling enough.
-5/10: passable/mediocre. Possibly the worst position to be. Not good enough to be remarkable, but not bad enough to be memorable. Just a nice distraction at best, and a disappointment at worst.
-6/10: interesting. Anyone should watch/read it at least once. There's something about it that elevates it over the standard. It isn't necessarily entertaining or good, and there's a chance that you may not click with it, but you can appreciate a certain idiosyncrasy, nonetheless.
-7/10: good. Conventionally adequate. It delivers on it's premise and execution satisfactorily. Although there may not be anything out of the ordinary to mention.
-8/10: very good. Everything works, but what separates it from the previous category are details (maybe one or two masterful) that add to the experience and make it even better.
-9/10: great. Wonderful in almost every possible way. It may have some flaws that prevent it from being a 10, but it's still close.
-10/10: excellent/masterpiece/classic. The best of the best. So extrordinary that the good outweights the bad. The closest to perfection a work of art can be.
I don't rate dropped media, unless I feel like I have a good sense of how it'll turn out, regardless of if I finish it or not.
