So Izumi did survive and we saw a bit of her past, which imo wasn't a pretty sight. It's sad to see how Izumi's family had a very violent fight.

The operation was kinda thrilling. Another close call for Izumi this episode though.

Izumi's flashback wasn't as impactful as the manga tbh. I wish they didn't skip so much of it.

American dude continues being a douche to the poor women. Although he wasn't wrong in accusing Tosaki of kidnapping Ogura.

The cliffhanger had me hyped for next episode.

Nakano is even dumber in the anime than the manga!

They really did show the bare bones from Izumi's flashback. I'm personally not too bothered since I didn't care for it much in the manga.

I find the American guy is really over-acting with his threats to his assistant, a little annoying. Tosaki should learn a lesson in empathy out of all this though. Another good action packed episode, looking forward to the next one!

Izumi's stepdad is an a-hole, though the Mom did redeem herself in the end.

Someone needs to wipe the smug look off that American guy's face.

We got to see Izumi's past, and a pretty harsh past at that.

Seriously, this was such a thrilling episode. That American guy continues to be a big asshole, though. Someone kill him already.

So hyped for next week's episode!

Very good episode.

Izumi's past was really sad, With her stepfather trying to sell her out and her struggle in the hospital, Everything about it was a sore sight to the eyes. Though I think she had it better than Kei and the other Ajin who were subjected to full blown experimentation. She was lucky to find Tosaki.

Tosaki's interrogation was really hard to watch, That drug must have been seriously painful.
The American guy sucks. I agree with @Kasi , He's just over reacting to everything and comes of as real annoying.

Nice to see Kei accepting the rescue mission despite being against it initially.
The operation was awesome and pretty exciting, We had everything from break in's to shootouts to car chases. xD

Hope the crew can rescue Tosaki before they reach the embassy.

Ahh!! Why does Shimomura have to be emotional in the car chase scene (#><) if she followed the orders of Kei I'm sure they'll be able to save Tosaki already. Totally hate the boss of Myers. Not sure if he looks down on her because she's an Ajin or because she's a woman as well even if Tosaki didn't treat Shimomura kindly but at least he won't give her punishment just for a little mistake. Hope the US boss will get the treatment he deserves (メ`ロ´)

Hmmm...... Meyers is the blonde lapdog of Mr Asshat...... I am not sure why the women Ajin seem to be so dependent on male masters in this series. Oh well.... so far most every character has no real emotional attachment to me. They seem to be self reliant/self survival oriented like Kei, just normal foolish like Nakano with his girl crush, or just asses like the American guy/Tosaki/etc. , or lapdogs like Myers and Shimomura. I guess my only attachment would be to Satou...... he is just full goose bozo and it's fun to watch him. Still a great series to watch! 8/10

glad we are all on the same page with american douche

instead of joining forces against a common enemy, let's just have disaster! great idea!

I really think nagai only accepted because: he got served since if that puts him in a negative situation, how will he take care of Satou? (as well as im pretty sure she lied about 'needing' tosaki XD)

Ogura keeping it real, and mission gone pretty well, next episode looks intense, but the title made me cringe ;-;

All this episode are full of actions and thrilling moments. Nice flashback about how Izumi met Tosaki. She should have followed the plan of Kei, he is so smart to react without emotion and choose the best solution.
Great episode. That Tosaki didn't talk about the plan impressed me, I'm starting to like him more and more.

Damn, Izumi's past is tragic. Her stepfather tried to sell her and her mother killed him for it, killing her in the process. That drug Tosaki was on looks very painful. The American guy continues to be a douche. Next episode looks to be exciting.

So Shimamura isn't her real name. She was treated like shit by her stepfather. Her mother couldn't do anything so she didn't help her daughter. Yoko ran away and was found in pretty bad shape, probably by Tosaki who knew about her being an ajin. He gave Yoko a new life and a new name. She's better off than that American ajin the big guy has on his side. That American ajin is basically being treated like a slave whereas Izumi is more of an assistant/bodyguard and doesn't get slapped around by Tosaki.

She forces Kei to change plans and pick a fight with America to save Tosaki even though it's less rational than first changing hideouts and then making a plan to save him. It felt a bit stupid that they checked all the rooms but not the basement which apparently was the first door in the nekoing living room. But oh well, this was their first time infiltrating the enemy's hideout like this. They need more training.

Next week's preview looks interesting as hell. Satou is carrying out his plan to kill the minister and Tosaki's group has their hands full with the Americans who are heading towards the embassy. It appears that the American man will shoot the American ajin woman for whatever reason. Should be interesting since Izumi and the others will be catching up to them before they reach the embassy.

I thought the entire episode was going to focus on Shimomura's past but instead it was only several minutes. I guess they just wanted to highlight the key elements that made her backstory fucked up.

I'm in agreement with everyone else about this American douchebag. Feels like I'm seeing an anime version of Donald Trump. And how dumb is Nakano for fucks sake, how do you forget to undo the safety right before a break-in.

This episode was pretty awesome, especially the Tosaki rescue mission, and the preview for next episode looked hype as fuck.

Kei's face when he said: "That's why I told you..." - This is going to be one of the most memorable moments in Ajin for me. You don't follow the plan and this is what you get.

Mmmm......that smooth animation of Izumi in her underwear...only to be ruined by her stepfather...

Oh boy, the American Embassy. That's the one place they can't let Tosaki into.

For going an anime-original route, they're doing a pretty good job.

Great episode.

Poor Izumi. Such a tragic past. Her Mum trying to protect her until the end.
Another chance with Tosaki.

That American Guy is one big fat Jackass.

Nagai's team infiltration a success. He's shown to be a great leader.
Really Kou you forgot to take off the safety.

Kei's IBM planting that tracking device was cool.
Better get to Tosaki before the Americans make it to the Embassy.

Even though this whole kidnapping situation is Anime Original. I'm still enjoying this show a lot.

Well, to be precise, international law dictates that every embassy is forbidden to touch by the respective country. Now if Nagai and friends want to accuse something out of american diplomat, they need evidence, and that's just difficult to get... especially for an uncredible group that nobody even knows it exist bellow no protection of any authority, easily could be accused as group of vigilant outlaw (terrorist). Nagai's action if executed carelessly would be viewed as a harmfull diplomatical movement. To be sure, even the japanese government won't take sakaki's side... it does not worth harming a billateral relationship for some ragtag who presently thrown out of his career. (Especially when you've been nuked twice and reluctant to make it thrice)

Because Izumi lied to him that only Tosaki knew the location of the prime minister. And the only way to take down Sato is during the assassination. Well I think it's only part of the reason why Kei made that decision though.

Wow Izumi's story was so deep and emotional. Her mother tho... Didn't expect such noble act from her. Not gonna lie Izumi's body ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° ) The highlight of this episode is definitely Izumi's loyalty for me, since she feels guilty for her mother's death, she doesn't want to have anyone she is vowed to protect die.
Gotta give props to Tosaki-san even though for not spilling anything out even after being injected that stuff. Liking him more and more. Operation Save Tosaki-san LET'S GO.

Nagai is really smart and collected for not giving in to his emotions to save Tosaki from the start even though he kinda gave in to Izumi's pleas and probably understanding that they might need Tosaki.
Nakano is so dumb honestly :D i facepalmed several times at his somewhat retardness. Seriously not knowing that the safest place for Americans is their embassy....

Gotta love how realistic this anime is.The fights, characters and just logic is real,real-life real. Like when Americans were escaping on the car, they went through a speed bump and their bodies reacted. It's a minor thing but minor things are what make something really enjoyable for me. .

I have to say Shimomura dropped in the rankings for me after that ep.

What was that shit she tried to pull with Nagai? He should have just ignored it. She can't hold him there forever. And then she can't even listen to his plans at all which might make them lose control over the situation entirely.

On top of that she didn't tell them about the meeting. The one information that actually lead to Tosaki being abducted in the first place. She wastes the best opportunity they got. I mean I understand she has some kind of agreement with Tosaki but I'm not sure he'll be happy about this course of actions.

She basically did EVERYTHING exactly the opposite way Tosaki would have handled it. I'm not sure what he'll think about this but I wouldn't be surprised if he is pissed at how this all went (his rescue aside. he'll obviously be glad he isn't in captivity anymore)
