Good episode, much less focus on the pirates but this one focused more on Etoile and the Princess. Same with Silver Mask. I'm glad they still remain very relevant in this series.

I wasn't surprised that Silver Mask came to the princess' recuse tbh considering their history together. He may be a tough guy to have around with but he still cares about certain people.

Guiscard is more incompetent than I realized botching such a simple assassination attempt. No shock he failed with the executions too. Loved how casually Silver Mask swooped in and grabbed his future baby momma, all "yoink!" style. XD Looks like Alfreed's brother is about to deliver Arslan back his future baby momma too. XD But first...pirate treasure? Arslan better pray Luffy doesn't get there first! XD

The change of focus to Etoile. Guiscard and Hilmes was needed and made for a very interesting chapter. Guiscard is a bit of an amateur though in the way he handled things.

The budget of this show must be shockingly low. Those soldiers at the end, LOL.

I did see the animation good.

So, in the end Arslan not save Etoile to the fire like the ending looks like... :(

Nice, so we indeed do get an episode showing why Etoile and Irina were about to be executed, as expected. Not surprisingly, they were rescued in the end, and we even got to meet Alfreed's brother along the way. Lol come on Guiscard, if you want your brother dead, it's going to take WAAAAAY more than a small knife to get through his 50 layers of fat. But I doubt he actually saw that coming. I think this episode did a good job of showing that Hilmes can still be a pretty caring guy, despite his tough exterior.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

So many factions here only between Pars and Lusitania......
Arslan, Andragoras, Hilmes, Guiscard, and Bodan

Being fat can save you I guess, Guiscard's face when his assassination attempt failed was priceless

Liked it. Nice buildup. Bandit guy and Etoile joining Arslan and Hilmes going to be seperate 3rd party (now openly where he tried to coopearte before). And then the Lusitanians of course.

Guiscard still did not kill the king. They will fight each other making it easy for others to take over.

But then again ... Andragoras / Arslan there might be some trouble and the Bodin guy has that sword of the ancient king.

I guess they will stay with Arslans party and Etoile and the bandit guy joining and then going to resolve the trouble in the port city in the remaining 2 episodse.

Great episode.

Guiscard didn't really think things through well. I'm glad that Hirmes came for the princess, though. Even arrogant, self-entitled jerks like him have people they care about. Though I've been finding him a thousand times less annoying since his backstory. After seeing that, I can kind of understand how he became so hateful and bitter towards everything and everyone. I wish they'd have done that sooner.

I hope Merlane and Estelle will be able to meet up with Arslan's group soon. I really like the development Estelle/Etoile is going through right now.

And I wonder how they're going to solve the thing between Narsus and Shagad in the next two episodes.

Hermes got to be the hero for once instead of the antagonist, swooping in and saving his princess.

Too bad only 2 episodes remain, it will be just barely enough to wrap up the story with that treacherous friend of Narsus.

Great episode. I don't really like the pirate arc for the past few episodes so it's good they go back to Lusitania. Can't wait for Etoile reunite with Arslan.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

Why this episode was terrible:

• Animation that looked like it had a 5$ budget
• Are you telling me Innocentius, the fat king, couldn't disarm nor outpower a blind girl ? Fuck off.
• Absolutely no effort whatsoever from Lusitanian army to stop Hermes on his way to the princess.
• Etoile being absolutely UNGUARDED while she was supposed to be executed next, being easily rescued by that savage.
• Overuse of OST at the end of the episode.

Really love where the plot is going, I can't even tell who the true enemy is anymore honestly since they're building up Hilmes as an anti hero. I loved how Guiscard's plans fell apart one by one, fuck that guy. Interesting that Alfreed's brother and Etoile are together, already like the chemistry. Only 2 episodes left and its just going to be about the pirate arc ;_; Season 3 when!?

That was a nice change from Gilan.Back to the capital Hermes saves Irene, who tried to murder Innocentis, who survived because he was fat lol and Etoile, who is considered a partner in crime by Alfreed's older brother.Guiscard's face was hilarious, when he learned his brother survived.I may missed something, but how Hermes was accompanied by Parsian soldiers? Now we have treasure hunt for the next. Two more to go.

Cool episode. Finally the focus is on best girl Etoille and not in Arslan and his friends. I enjoyed this episode a lot, despite some things (poor looking CGI made soldiers, Hilmes reaching to Ecbatana in the most convenient instant...).

Guiscard is truly hilarious. He is so incompetent he even can't orchestrate the murder of his brother. It seems in this series the plor armor it's so strong even the king's fat is one! This series takes the plot armor to a whole new level, lol. I felt releived with him surviving, since he is very funny and goody.

Alfreed's brother is cool. Too bad we see few of his skills this episode, but he managed to escape of the cells and save Etoille too. What a guy. That means Etoille and Arslan will meet again. Cannot wait for that to happen.

And now, Arslan and his friends go full One Piece mode. I wonder if that thing of the treasure is an scheme of Shagad or if it's truly exist judging by the ending of the episode.

Cannot belive there are only two episodes more before this ends. I wonder the season will conclude the pirates arc and the story will have another cliffhanger.

You sound like you're just looking for reasons to be down on it.

Overall a predictable episode but everything that occurred on screen was enjoyable. Hilmes coming in on was obvious but still satisfying, and Etoile and Alfreed's brother leaving to join Arslan is a welcome occurrence.

I'm really disappointed the king did not die after all. Because of his foolishness and lack of backbone he allowed so much power in the hand of the extremist religious leader and his group who tortured and killed so many people, who destroyed all the books in the capital city of Pars, and we can imagine Pars is not the only place where they burned books. The king also gave them the gold in Pars's citadel treasury's as well.

So there's a lot of stuff going on in Ecbatana. Bodin destroyed the aqueducts before running off and now they're facing a shortage of water. Innocentis has been locked away in some room so that Guiscard can rule things himself. Meanwhile, Irina come to the palace for her revenge and tries to attack Guiscard. Etoile sees Innocentis peeking out from his window and she is told to tell Guiscard about this. That fatty really is innocent as he doesn't know who Guiscard really is and what he's really planning with locking him up. And Guiscard sees this as the perfect opportunity to get rid of the eyesore that is his brother since he's already regretting keeping Andoragoras to try and use him.

He has Etoile escort Innocentis to the room where Irina is being held so that Irina can attack him and kill him. He won't have to get his hands dirty. Irina will kill Innocentis and Etoile will be accused of helping out since this couldn't be possible without an insider's help. But he underestimated the amount of fat his brother has lol. That was hilarious how him being severely obese helped save his life. He still has the princess and Etoile sentenced since it wouldn't look nice if those who attempted to kill the king were still alive. But Hilmes had other plans and raided the place to snatch Irina and Etoile was also saved in the commotion.

The guy escorting Irina turns out to be Alfreed's older brother. That was pretty much obvious after her brother was first mentioned in this season and then subsequently a Zot clan young man being shown. And he's going to meet his sister, ditching the princess, leaving her with Hilmes. And Hilmes has officially made himself an enemy to Lusitania. Now Guiscard will have to deal with Andoragoras, Hilmes, and possibly Arslan if the kid decides to stir up some trouble, that is. Oh and Bodin is also against these guys since he ran off to get the legendary sword. But first he's going after Hilmes to teach him a lesson. Andoragoras is also alive and is going to make his move soon. Would be interesting if Andoragoras intercepts the Lusitanian army out for Hilmes and defeats them and then Hilmes fights that army. Arslan is going for some treasure hunting to fund his army.

There are a lot of players in the field here and anyone can make his move at any time. Hilmes coming to save Irina was unexpected as is because Guiscard didn't expect Hilmes to have any relation with Maryam. And with him focusing everything on Hilmes and the problems in Ecbatana at the moment, he won't be prepared for an attack from Andoragoras or Arslan. Guiscard might have to face more unexpected stuff later on. Andoragoras can even intercept Hilmes right now. Arslan is out for some time because he doesn't have an army at the moment and is only making preparations so he can't be a threat to Guiscard, but Guiscard doesn't know what happened between Arslan and Andoragoras so to him Arslan is still a threat. This new turn of events has made things quite interesting.

And that, my friends, is why Guiscard is an idiot. What did he expect to happen when he puts his brother who is covered in basically two human bodies worth of subcutaneous fat, in the same room as a blind girl with a short ass knife???? The poor excuse of a little brother should have just gifted Irina with a scimitar or a friggin rapier. You're an A Grade idiot, Guiscard, congrats to you.

To be honest, they really haven't progressed much in this season. I'm quite disappointed at where things will end after episode 8, and will be hoping for a quick announcement for a next season. We ain't even going to see Andoragoras return to Ectabana at this slow ass pace.

The only thing worth mentioning was Hilmes' rescue of Irina, and Etoile heading to rejoin Arslan.

I'm actually starting to hope that Arslan can do something where everyone has a happy ending. Now that Hilmes has a partner, I don't want him to die fighting for the throne. Don't really want our boi Arslan dying off either.
This is definitely going to end on a chiffhanger. Need dat S3.

What surprised me most this episode that they refrained from having Shagad smirk there in the back. Evil scheming guys always do that, no matter how things go, and given that his connection to the pirates is proven (though that doesn't say anything about the treasure), he's basically confirmed as evil by anime standards. Instead he was practically frowning there.

Regards Arslan/Hilmes: They could actually both survive. I don't think Hilmes cares that much about Arslan himself, it's just about Arslan being in the way. Both as official heir, and as commander of an army that doesn't want to see Hilmes on the throne..

And Arslan will obviously not go after Hilmes if he doesn't have to.

So if either would give up on Pars, they could both live happily ever after.

Maybe Hilmes could settle with Maryam given his likely future wife..
