| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- The poison begins to be effective. She gave up her long hair to get rid of Sakurai-san's character's grasp. They fell when she tries to save childhood guy. Sakurai-san's character, who feel guilty for causing all this, gave cousin guy the remaining hair and is prepared for sentence. So the one who instructs cousin guy (voiced by Yoshino-san) is 25 (I thought he's at least in his 30s)?! The day of him becoming the king. He still don't trust all tribes. Two new characters that seems like to be the servants of "Shinkan", who the two currently search for, appeared. It seems like childhood guy broke his bones protecting her. That "bishounen" guy doesn't like doing bothersome thing, and a guy who "spill out" easily. Mission comes soon? |

| Hak managing to defeat almost all the soldiers with that poison! It was nice to see Yona wanting to save Hak who is about to fall, cutting her hair to escape Su-Jin's grasp. Really liked how she looked back at that moment! That burning eyes that even intimidated the soldier. Su-Jin's attachment to Yona really did save them. I even pity him a little as he was quite the wreck to announce their death and present Yona's hair to Soo-Won. Soo-Won thinking back and of that wonderful dream. The short pause before he hugged Hak. Soo-Won looks charismatic with the king's robe! Though his speech wasn't too impacting. Yoon calling himself a bishounen xD Well, he has personality! The priest being a klutz and Yoon being a doctor that saved them. They made that fall to be cute! Hak protecting Yona from that fall, hope he gets better soon. Forgot to mention how her new hair looks really nice! |

| Hak is unconscious and they're at the bottom of the valley... It seems Tae-Jun truly DOES love Yona, even crying as he thinks her dead. The hair cutting scene, at last! I like her style right now, long at the front, short at the back, but it's only a matter of time before it's fixed, I guess. I wonder what Hak will think of this new short hair of hers. Well, guess we'll see next episode! |

| Wow! Pierrot was really awesome on adapting of this kinds manga (Shoujo and Shounen) I wish they are good on Seinen and Josei too! Anyway it's a perfect adaptation again! That continued fight scene was awesome! And Yona protecting Hak with the fiery eyes was so good! Too bad Hak was seriously injured and almost died because of protecting Yona, but at least Yona was safe and he's alive. So Hak's promise to King Il (and to Yona) was still being fulfilled and not being broken. Can't wait for the next episode next week! |

| I love this series so much >.<!! Another perfectly adapted ep :D The animation during Hak's fight scenes was nice. Man he got badly injured there. Yona's scenes were sooo good >.<!! Loved her determined eyes and the part when she cut off her hair. Really intense stuff :3 Yona is <3 The Su-won scenes were really awesome. I really have no idea what this dude is thinking. Even as a manga reader, I can't put my hand on his true personality. He's a mystery for sure. Quite the touching moment in his flashback when he told Hak to protect Yona thinking to himself that Hak and Yona won't be on his side as a king :( I can see why people may dislike him but I think he's an awesome character. Just look at his monologue about Hak and Yona "Dying"... Tae-jun's genuine sadness over Yona dying and wanting to be punished was nice. Poor Hak though, completely rejected by Yona straight away XD And Yun saying he feels bad for him was lol XD Loved Yun's voice. Junko Minagawa? That's a voice I haven't heard in a while. Well it fits a self proclaimed bishounen like him quite well XD. And boy was Ik-su just as I imagined him XD So random and hilarious. What a clumsy priest ^^ Can't wait til he reveals the "plot" nxt ep. Should be awesome. |

| Hak continues to be an amazing badass; even while being under the influence of the poison, he nearly took down all the solders. Yona's expressions this episode were awesome with them burning intimidating eyes! That soldier just backed away slowly. XD Regardless of how much of a wimp Tae-jun is; his love for Yona seems to be genuine, as he lamented after assuming she has died and was asking to be punished for treason. Slight respect for him there. Su-won's flashback was nice, especially that subtle bromance between him and Hak. :3 . Too bad, he has forsaken everything to become the king. Mun-deok thinking about kid Su-won and how kind he used to be was a bit sad.. Ik-su's clumsiness was hilarious! Hard to believe he's actually the priest Mun-deok was talking about. Good episode. PV narration for next episode sounds pretty interesting. I see Hak is almost teasing Yona. :p |

| Hak and Yona are both awesome! I had to laugh when they showed just how Hak broke the fall. It's hilarious but not really since they could have died. As a manga reader I know that Suwon is a clever, capable person and he will most likely make an excellent king but I still don't sympathize with him. I guess it's really because he betrayed Yona and Hak so deeply that I can't bring myself to like him although, I do like him in the flashbacks. I know he has his reasons which, from his point of view, are justified but I can't help thinking of a serpent when I see him. He has a gentle, near fake demeanor but I know how ruthless he can be, which is kind of creepy. Still, it's good that the story shows that he still treasured his bonds with Yona and Hak although I suspect those bonds are broken permanently now. Can I say how much I love the Fire guy now. Even he I can sympathize with. |

The flashback though ;c I had to squeal with their bromance but I support Hak x Yona here! I don't mind Su Won x Yona though... It's sad how that when he does become king, both Hak and Yona won't be there with him. The ending xD haha Yun was like, "I'm Yun. I'm just a passing bishounen so don't mind me." Can't wait for the next episode with that preview! |
| Oh yeah, seeing how Hak shipped Suwon x Yona so hard I can now better understand why he got so mad when he reflected on how Suwon betrayed Yona. He was actually willing to serve them all his life. What a guy! |

| Those fighting scenes for Hak were really good! Spinning the spear around his neck, a recovery attack. Tae Jun seeking punishment was quite unexpected for me. He was quite shaken. I see that Soo-won is quite intelligent, to see through each Tribe's intentions. Yoon's appearance- I absolutely loved his cynicism. |

Yeah, I don't think we are meant to think of Su-won as pure evil or even evil. He gave a good reason, at least in his mind, for the reason why he killed Yona's father and perhaps he is justified. What Suwon has done has a lot of precedence in history. Royalty in China and Korea have done this who knows how many times. Some of them even led prosperous reigns after acquiring the throne through plotting and killing their own siblings/families. I kind of get the impression that that's what going on here. Suwon said that his father was killed by Yona's father so there's obviously more that needs to be revealed about what's the true history here. I also don't think that Suwon is being manipulated. He is a very intelligent person and he would probably see through that. That said, I am still firmly on Yona's side because she was innocent in all of this and I hope she will eventually forget about Suwon...at least as time passes. |

| Hak was a badass in this episode. That opening is still giving me goose bumps. I definitely ship Hak and Yona, but I still love su-won he must have a good reason why he is doing this towords Yona and Hak. but I'm starting the manga soon xD |

| When she cut her hair was a great moment particularly because she's always so hung up on her hair. I kind of see it as a symbol of growth and it only gets better from here on out. I can't wait to see just how much she'll grow as a person living out that old adage, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." |

| Yona pretty much bloomed before my eyes this episode. I really loved the development we could clearly see, even if she was a bit brash, I don't see how else she could've done it. Rocking the new hairstyle as well! I actually kinda like Tae-jun. How concerned he is for Yona seems so genuine, I feel just a little bad for him.. and he blames himself solely. Don't even know what to think of Su-won. Honestly his priorities and feelings seem mixed up and leave me confused. His interactions with Hak and Yona in the past were really sweet yet heartbreaking. Gotta love the comedy and bits of fun. The priest and Yun are an interesting set of characters; can't wait to see what'll happen from there. |
| Finally, good shoujo fantasy. This is really building up to expectation, but it's about time they start their journey. At this rate, half the series will be just them running away and finding friends. Love the action animation, it's just stunning. And Yona's fiery glare is excellent. Yun's introduction is funny.... and is the priest the blonde in the opening? I like Yona's current hair, with long strands in the front. But looks like it will be short completely. Still, a good moment of symbolism and character development. Now to hone some archery skills! |

| Nooooooooo! Yona's beautiful red hair! She looked super duper kawaii with her long hair. Now her kawaiiness has dropped a bit. Damn. Nice episode overall. The priest and the pretty boy were fun characters. Soo-Won is making a strong start as king. Smart move. He's looking to gain everyone's trust and become a good king. |
| This is the episode that secured this anime for me. Enjoying it a lot more than i expected. The fight scene this episode was surprisingly fluid and all the characters are relatable and justified. Even the son of the fire general. He was obviously haunted by the fact that the princess died. |
| Su-Won is giving me some Reinhardt vibes. He's shaping up to be a good antagonist, with depth and purpose. It's going to make for a richer, more complex story. Excellent. |

I was so happy they adapted that brief chibi part into the anime so people won't be like "wtf they survived such a great fall, anime logic." I mean it's still hard to believe that they could survive the fall, but with Hak's quick movements and reaction, it's not impossible that they did if he had used a tree branch to cushion the fall. iirc, this part was actually an extra page at the end of a manga chapter. ilu Pierrot/scriptwriter (wait he wrote the script for Toaru no Hikuushi e no Koiuta....). Anyways, I like the fighting choreography they added to Hak's fighting scene, it was nicely animated. And also Soo-won's flashback, ugh, it hurts. Not saying I forgive what he has done, but it makes me want to cry when I see that he really treasures/d Yona and Hak. It was cute when he said he wanted Hak, and Hak basically supported Yona x Soo-won, but then Soo-won said that it won't happen. "When I become king, Yona and Hak will not be by my side." | Hak should try out for Cirque du Soleil. Soo-won's pointy shoes made me laugh during an otherwise sad scene. My bad. I really like Soo-won the fox because he's a bit of an enigma. I don't really get him, but that's what makes me like him. |

| I'm pretty surprised with the animation done in this ep. It's very good and fluid and I really like the episode with Hak rampaging, Yona maturing and Su Won seems to regret his decision a bit. If the show maintain its quality, I just can't see myself giving score lower than a 9 |

| I must say, I was extremely pleased with this episode (and this is coming from someone who always had a complaint here and there for the last 5 episodes). The music was well done as well. And the animation, especially Hak fighting, was excellent. |
