Got something you want to randomly say, say it here, or whatever. This is similar to the anime thoughts thread I made on AN, but instead of just limited it to anime, I'd like to extend it out to Manga, and talk about the AN forums in general. Try to keep it appropriate though. And don't use it as a place to badmouth the mods or admins either.

My thoughts: KimiNozo was good stuff, can't wait for the OVA to get released to see the alternate ending. Also, Code Geass! Pizza Hut!

Damn you, I was going to make this thread because I was bored. Oh well.

Random thought: why is Seirei no Moribito only on like...two or three lists in the club? Get watching, people.

Random thought: why didn't MADHOUSE finish Claymore right? ;_;

Well, I don't really like to put a distinct value on things. Then I have to decide whether I'm rating things fairly or not. Example? Burst Angel and Dragonaut. Both are utterly horrible, piece of crap shows. They're also guilty pleasures for me. So where do I rank them? Low, or high?

Since I'm borderline OCD and quite definitely anal-retentive, if I ranked any significant number of titles, I'd need to rank them all (sort of an all or none thing). Usually I prefer people ask me about series, or focus on my viewing habits from the list, rather than look at the ratings and say "oh, such and such person likes this anime, he's weird" or the opposite, or...you get the idea.

I'm odd, I know.

What is worse is that Seirei no Moribito lost to Clannad for animation in the animesuki awards lol Now i like Clannad but lets compare the tomoyo fight with the jiguro spear fight... lol

Seirei no Moribito (i love the comment someone made a little down the page: "This is the shit!!! If only the latest naruto fights could be like this :D") rotfl

Clannad (spectator view FTW tho lol )

True Tears will get subbed out the wazoo, since everyone and their mother wants to watch it (it's harem or something to that effect, instant popularity).

I'm more worried about Shigofumi, since it took so long to get started. Less worried when I think about how many groups picked it up after the first, but still. EDIT: D.Gray-man is another one. It might get licensed by Funi, it's their type of show. The problem with that? Both the current subbers, Black-Order and Shinsen, would stop (Shinsen only because they've had trouble with Funi in the past). So I'd be out of subs for that one, no idea if anyone else would really sub it. There's other groups, but they're still in the mid twenties, and 68 aired this week, IIRC.

ef -a tale of memories is a good show, but there just isn't anything about it that has yet to grab me. Good music, great animation and a nice variety of characters, but just nothing to pull me in and get me too interested in this show. It's teetering between a 6 and a 7 in my book.

And you're correct, it went from a 6/7 to an 8 at the end. Ah, good stuff. My mini-review is at AN in the Anime Completed thread, as always.

Day 2 of 6 is over, finished Code Geass and ef - a tale of memories. I'll start Minami-ke in about an hour, and try to get at least 4 episodes in before bed, while download Blue Drop.

So far, so good. 3 Shows, all 3 have been Very Good, you really can't ask for more than that from a marathon is you're getting constant enjoyment.

I really like all of El Hazard. I usually hand out a 7 to shows that are very enjoyable to watch, yet don't do anything ground breaking. Most people seem to like The Magnificent World most of all, but I've always found Alternative World to be the best. Barely anyone would agree with me on that. All of them are good. You get three OVAs that continue where the last left off and the Wanderers that did a good job retelling the whole story in a slightly different way. Some people don't like the TV series as much because they think it's more on the kiddy side compared to the OVAs. There is some truth to that, though it did a really good job at developing some of the characters the OVAs didn't get enough time to work with. El Hazard is a fun feel good series.

Thanks Hisoka, I'll probably watch everything in the franchise sometime soon, I've enjoyed the first 4 eps of Wanderers a lot more than I thought I would.

It's because Zeta Gundam is immensely GAR and hitting other people is awesome. I mean, there's all kinds of anime about hitting people, after all. Zeta Gundam is just an evolution of the genre! XD

Also: I hate everyone who isn't watching Les Miserables. Only seven episodes have been subbed. I have to directly DL my eps (my college doesn't allow torrents and has haxxored their network so they don't run), and I found out like two days ago my sub of 06 was only half downloaded or something bizarre like that.

But yeah, it's like the Cliff Notes for the novel, especially considering it'll take most people eight billion years to read through it. Not to mention Cosette is so cute and Fantine + her fellow working girls = hot.

So I guess we can look forward to a 3rd season of Geass, and probably SEED as well...

Yes, because GSD is QUALITY, after all.

Anyway, just finished Myself; Yourself, which may very well be the surprise of the marathon. I was expecting a good show, but I wasn't expecting it to be anything I'd love and add to my favorites.

I still dont see the big deal about Naruto. You have quite possibly the most annoying lead character of all time. A story that makes DBZ look deep, boring and cookie cutter characters. It is like they went to the book of mediocrity and everyone read it.

Naruto is shounen. Same story as every other shounen, just different details is all. Kids love it. Hell, I'm watching it. The only real difference is when the stories were released originally.

Oh yeah, small edit: Prons, don't repeat Camille's mistake. I might not be on all the time, or even too often, as was evidenced by my lack of response, but I'll boot your ass faster than NASCAR drivers go in circles if you do.

How much do they cost?

Here in Israel I can pick up a 500gb HDD for as little as 150$, but it will cost about 250$ to get a 500gb external.
Don't know about 1TB though, but it's logical to assume that the same comparison still stands.

Internal HDDs are definitely cheaper, but external ones are more convenient. It takes a few seconds to plug them in or remove them, they're portable so you can take them with you and plug them into any computer easily, and...I don't want a bunch of HDDs in my case.

It's just convenience.

I have two of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136025

and one of these, but the 500GB model(this is a 320 model but it looks just like it): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822144079

I wouldn't recommend the Maxtor one. There's no power button on the thing, so even when you figuratively disconnect it from your computer, or completely turn your computer off, it stays on. The WD ones are quiet, but I had one go bad on me. I never found out the source for that problem, but I recovered about 400GB worth of data so it wasn't a big loss.
