Guessing you saw the Victoria's Secret Lisa stuff today. Madness. But my trusty #1 girl today takes the win heh. Also gotta agree with some random post I saw praising Giselle, she's been bodying every photoshoot with this buildup and probably the most consistently awesome this time. I got an OT4 tab today that might be tempted to put on MDL. Absolutely loved everyone in this set. Hope to get a stage with these looks now too.

Yeah of them all I might be most interested to really see what all Haneul is doing on this album. Was easy to tell she's A rank when she might be secretly S rank, lol. Natty still surprises me too. They're just showing off at this point and can tag in and out anywhere. Also this W KOREA show with Haneul rocking the sunglasses and this outfit was trending for good reason. Not seeing the sunglasses here but it was this outfit somewhere.
Not really itching to watch idol themed anime, but that's good to know haha. If it's the best in the genre it'll be the one to watch.

Another ~3 hour nighter. This has to be like the 5th time in a mere two months. I really can't think of anything, other than maybe travel stress. I can almost already feel a lousy night ahead next week when I'm off, because the nights this happens is about as random as it gets. Could have an awesome Thursday and be exhausted ready for sleep only to lay there unable to shut off for hours.

Chemistry hit real good. Line videos will be great to verify some of them in spots because it almost sounds like Haneul was rapping at points. You'd know better than me, but it seems like Julie is killing this whole thing. Last three tracks are alright but probably won't hit them up too much. Yeah I see the x-ray arm now too lol... I agree all KIOF needs to focus on is being hot with some kick ass catchy tunes.
I have an obvious hunch performance/stages will always be where KIOF always shines the most lol. Get Loud is great though. Lot of aespa vibes, maybe one of the former aespa directors was involved? 2:18 lol... more of that please. It's so weirdly random though.
Imaginary Friend is indeed amazing, I called it with the DC vibes in the sample haha. Going to really need an aespa song with harmonization like this someday. I don't think this ITZY album has a single miss. And yeah wow, the "Final" versions. Line videos will even be interesting on these now. It almost feels like a flex, like yeah X can just swap in for Y's parts here and there like nothing lol. But yeah, cool way to slot Lia back into it all. MINDZY's just winning with two versions of all these awesome tracks. There's a high chance she had to learn some of the choregraphy for some of them too, no way they can just exclude this gold array of tracks for shows from here on.

Was that can't supposed to be a can? And you think you can salvage this anime year when the busy season is about to burst! lol. In that hobbies/passion ranking we were musing a few months back, KPop is clearly another level or two higher for you and puts you in a damn daze. But I better consider how busy things will get myself here soon. I'm feeling extra energy hitting on all cylinders now for gaming and everything. But it also helps watching "short" episodes of stuff lately between anime, sentai, While You Were Sleeping being 30m a piece, but I'll probably slot in two together usually. I also don't know when exactly I started this but it's probably been about a year since I'm getting up 30 minutes earlier and maybe you've seen the new trend. The one episode of anime a day, I have like an hour block in the morning I can do nowadays. So 2-3 episodes, or even some KDrama in the mix. That's been good. Not much else I want to do in the morning before work. I almost think about setting the alarm back a tad more for a bigger buffer. Then this nerve BS summer made me want to try and get off the mouse/keyboard more and just watch stuff. Weeks later I'm like this should be the norm instead of just wasting time on YT or whatever many nights haha.
Forgot to mention yeah, those Whiplash shirts are ballin'. Ugh wish we could get some merch more easily. I saw a simple ass Bored! shirt on Redbubble haha. Some other decent stuff. Just might go with that. One of my best work shirts tore at the elbow today. Sigh, bro how expensive are clothes right now? So many signs that I need to get some new stuff soon. Probably another reliable pair or two of jeans, jacket without a hoodie, some new t-shirts, work shirts...
Got through the Yuna ep of Eunchae's Star Diary. Man I don't even hate Cake anymore if I'm being honest lol. That's some real ITZY high talking, but it being in the rear view mirror is also why. I'd be annoyed to live this again as a current comeback from any group. But fast forward to now and it's a mildly quirky fun song.
Man I think even beyond LE SSERAFIM, ITZY are the most consistently symmetrical group out there. You know what I mean lol. The entire OT5 could share clothes. Chef's kiss. Yuna probably with the longest legs of course though. But it also really helps how great ITZY's vocals are. It's a delayed reaction to realize this haha, but this has to be another reason how they've grown on me so much by now.
Almost thought this was Mercedes! Julieeeeeee. I was loving this Chaewon look today. Yep I saw the comparisons and hell, someone posted that red Chaewon look with the shapes in her hair, even I might rank that above this red bob Winter or some other angles/pics. But that was like 80% miss with Chaewon day to day, Winter is consistently good with anything. This is basically the Haman Karn right here haha. I just knew it was a wig, because it's not as incredible as the reeeeeeeal deal via Savage. So what we've seen with Winter, maybe we'll get the Savage cut + this red with the promotion run after the comeback. I'd be floored.
Nobody is still talking about Perfect Night here in October 2024 except full time Fearnot's lmao. I again had to rack my brain to recall some of it, just a testament to their trendy styles that don't leave a mark on me. But they'll bring the thigh and booty like in that one that makes it iconic lol. "The hot Sakura track" is how my brain refreshed me on it. Maybe they should fuel Winter and Chaewon to hang out to squash the stupid haters lol. I'm just like people, these are both two best in the business with their own strengths.
"hotspring resort stuff" should be easy to remember haha. The art is freaking gold by this point. I'm only skimming the side/author notes at this point, but I guess it was volume 14-15 when the anime was kicking off. It's cool how back then they'd respect the author and have them come in to verify the VA's, character designs, storyboards, etc. Not sure if that happens anymore...
While You Were Sleeping is pretty fun, Suzy's way cuter and fun here giving me some serious dorky no makeup/glasses Karina vibes. BUT I'm not sure how much I'll love this magical dreaming stuff lol. Feel like this'll max out my quota on supernatural elements in a drama for awhile. Nothing wrong with this or Hotel del Luna, but not what I want too often heh. I'll guess Start Up is more down to Earth.

Yeah that's the catch with Christian and Luchasauruas right now. I read the other day he's going to be out a month at least. Good thing is this arc can keep boiling for a long time as it has been, and Luchasaurus is the type of muscle/character who wouldn't even need to really do an actual match for weeks/months ahead. Just having him standing around to kick and chokeslam someone is enough. With that Jack Perry nod we saw lately, I was wondering if someday Luchasaurus will take off that bulky mask. Could maybe just do some cool facepaint or something. Unlike Kane, I think it'd be fine with him perhaps, as long as there's something else there. Kane's weird bald face/head, ugh.

Now it's Domyouji's birthday meeting her scary mom. Can't remember what volume is brand new for me but it'll be soon.

That's a good ranking. I'm not sure what my top 3 would be but the first four there are all excellent and Giselle's are great too. I don't think I initially expected new solos so quickly. Guess that is one perk to doing the new tour so quickly. The Winter guitar solo is one for the ages. Just more special moments for us super MY's on the first tour. Mariah vs Baker could be cool, as long as Mariah retains. I do think Mariah could benefit from a stooge of sorts. Like Mercedes with Kamille right now, it's a fun vibe with them just heeling it up with whoever. But I'm not sure Mina should be that one for Mariah. So... not sure who.
This all makes me think of who we're truly seeing in prime form exclusively in AEW. Hangman instantly comes to mind. Dude has been a machine and we ever look at another "Best" match list for AEW again someday, his name is probably peppered everywhere. MJF is up there. I'll wager this is the best Swerve's ever been too, not to mention I saw what he meant about putting on weight after the Keith tag team. Jack Perry, Sammy, Darby, Garcia, all above average too. But in the words of Vince, Hangman's got THE BODY. Good thing the flabby days don't stick around too long when he's regularly wrestling.

I don't have a clue about this MVP stuff and don't think AEW's done anything to make me care so far. To be fair maybe this is what it was like for weirdos back in the day who only watched one of WCW or WWF, so anyone crossing over they were completely in the dark about. Wrestling just kind of assumes with this... but I don't have a damn clue about any of this other than hearing Shelton is good I think. I need more than that lol. But on the other hand I like how it gives me a completely clean slate with these people who go to AEW. Even Mercedes who I caught a few PPV matches of and stuff, I still wasn't entirely sure of what to expect with her.
I'm not allowed to read another book again until I finish HYD. And like clockwork I wanted to read another book the day I finished the last one, or day after. lol, so yeah that'll motivate me. Give me a fucking break lol. I'm sure it happens in some cases just like anything in life, but you cannot fake this kind of love they're giving and showing us all. With both Will and Mariah though, I'm kind of blaming the booking a bit and some of their stuff not being as good as I think it should be. I guess Mariah is a very young champion and still feeling it out. It's not that I don't want anyone else with the title right now, but maybe it's like you were saying about Cody, it feels a bit status quo for her so far. Nothing too super interesting. It's also probably a testament to Toni's void too, she was just that damn good. But I like everything about Mariah. Total package for me, so just needs some good rivals/stories along the way. And for Will I can't fully blame him, since that MJF arc was kind of meh. Not feeling too hot on him and Garcia either. So if Cole slides into that mix that should level it up. I still think it's great that Cole can match MJF on the mic and maybe even be better some nights, bit more organic.
You got me worried about Jay now lol. In just that yeah... what does AEW do with this guy. The opener was him and Hangman so that was cool. I think like you said, I would rather Jay be a heel but also not quite the chicken shit stuff he was doing. I don't know. I see A tier potential here, but it's hard to figure out where he can slot into.

It really reeked of Toei somehow not realizing that DB was still one of the biggest things in the world. And when Super wrapped up it was even bigger again. Those games always sell well but this one is doing crazy, think it's basically Budakai 4. Those were cool back in the day. Goten being the lead of GT would have probably been a lot easier to accept in some way lol. But yeah it's baffling. I always think of the stupid power up circles for Goku. Piccolo showing up in two episodes, being stuck in Hell. It shouldn't have been that hard to make a full filler series, yet some at Toei apparently hated most of the legacy characters or something. KG and Warrior Baek Dong Soo are 6.5's, I should bump those down to a 6 and 5, bottom of the barrel historical drama with WBDS being ass, it was comically bad from what I remember. 6 looks too high for The Master's Sun, I make an UGH when I see it. So maybe I can already get some 5's going here, lmao. 7.5 is too high for the GTO Remake. Yeah... these .5's work well with super sentai since I have such a formula, for episodic shows like this. Yeah I've kind of assumed that with the American-Korean actors. Wasn't it Mr Sunshine with the English trooper guy and a bad leg or something? Jonathan? lol. And now it can even be kind of goofy hearing them speak other Asian languages, might sound a bit off or exaggerated. Good way to see that scene though and her covering more for herself. Maybe her living in a snow log cabin would have been a more interesting story. lol

It's pretty wacky how the Super manga is still going too. But I guess that was always the primary thing for Super, with the anime being a little tacked on bonus on a five dollar foot long production for its entire first half run. So maybe Diama is more of a pure anime project? Who the heck knows lol. Anything after the Vegeta thumbs up splinters off into various timelines. Of course I'm on the fence about the kid idea, even though I can see how it could have been cool in GT and now maybe here. Bring it back to DB's style a bit or something. But yeah who knows. As long as this is treated like a big deal with some respect, should hopefully bode well.

Dude took the volume to 11. Ready to slap the 9 on this one already, knew it would rule. In the sea of A tier music too, this could be one of the best BGM's of them all. Only thing I'd tweak is my ultimate preference is two females in the group. Sometimes it's one, like here. But she's great, unlike the last one which was one of the most boring single female leads, huge bummer.

I think all this is natural after awhile, having seen so much, tastes and values shift along the way, etc. But I think this focus on me with 8's being recommendation/rewatch level for drama and shows is working well. Still feel good about my movie scores too, which has a similar thing, it needs to be 4+ for it to be something I wouldn't mind owning or seeing again. Even though I'm not buying movies, but that mindset helps. Imagine if one of these sites did Letters. *laughs*

Dude I was VERY confused last night seeing some clips of Daima, recapping thing I guess, with amazing looking animation (the new DBZ game just dropped too and is selling gangbusters, so I wasn't sure if it was from that either). Giving Anna a 7 felt good. Even in my weirder mix of sentai and random ass movies I put on there long ago. I remember you weren't a fan of that for your list. But it seems good and balanced, now I see an absence of 5's and kind of want to slap that around, but that's asking for pain lmao. Maybe I'll designate the ultimate sentai if I can pick one with a 9.5 down the road.
The Anna OST is one of the most annoying I've heard in quite some time, lol. Something about it started killing me in the back half. You got this asshole husband choking Yumi/Anna out and a casual piano is playing. She gets a call about her mom being on deaths door and someone is strumming a guitar of sorts. It felt experimental in a really obnoxious way that started ticking me off, like this director thought they were making high art. Sums up the vibe of the entire show in the long run though. Suzy was good for as moppy as she looked the entire time. Nobody else will be memorable here at all. I kind of lost the thread on a lot of names after awhile too, on top of all the time leaps. She bumps into someone from so long ago and I'm like... WHO? I had a hunch she was going to kill him in the car somehow, or he was going to kill her out in the desert. Almost turning into a horror finale. It made me think this whole thing might have been fine as a two hour movie. But yeah. Nothing bad. Not great. Certainly freaking weird though in the long run. I wager Start Up and While You Were Sleeping will be vastly better.
