| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- New girl? People know the school that they won against in final and were rumoring. Chihaya is being nervous? Young Arata and grandpa scenes. So the grandpa got memory lost later on? But he remembers about the competition. Arata went to see the competition when Chihaya went unconscious!! Taichi entrusted Chihaya to Arata and promised to win even with four people. Then Chihaya is shocked when seeing Arata. Chihaya wanted to rejoin, but she went unconscious again, and she reminds him to rethink about karuta. Someone knows Arata said his karuta play is like his grandpa's. That made him wants to do karuta again, and decided to join the competition. That guy who was interested in Chihaya in last game was shocked about her not feeling well. Megane guy won the first time! |

| This episode has become one of my favorites already. It's good to see some character development of Arata. The 3 main characters are so likeable, but Taichi is my favorite, I guess I can relate to him. |

The one that passed by Chihaya in the beginning of the episode During the whole episode, I was thinking, this southern Japanese accent sounds interesting... | Terrific episode, made me turn the anime rating from a 9 to a 10. After the christmas week of no anime, this episode brought a terrific shine back into my day to day routine as it always has on tuesday these past weeks. Right when Chiahya wished not for a a win, but rather the safety and health of her team, made me love her even more. After seeing the new girl I was like pfft sorry Chihaya whoops any girls butt in this anime. Going on to the matches, I was like aughhhhhhhh Chihaya settle, don't have another emotional freakout that could cost you the game, instead shes sick and Iw as like OH NOESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Then Arata came and had his flashback, which for me was really sad because I don't have my grandfather either now and its just the, I know how it feels type thing and I give a bit more respect to Arata for letting me see it. I enjoyed the little comedic parts at the end with the Hokuo kid coming and Desktomo bro getting some first wins (which I kinda expected). Anyways, I love this anime, and I can't wait to see the Chihaya vs. arata match that looks to be in the future ! |

| Well, in the beginning it does feel like watching Saki when Saki play against Koromo. Sometime you can feel a opponent that are strong, so that's probably that girl that past throught Chihaya. She was feeling even worst by reading that card poem. Yeah she does look young to be a queen, but don't think ages should matter. She probably a rival for Chihaya, that what I believe. Now everyone feel happy for Arata flashback, I knew it will come but what I do looking forward to see him play Karuta again. Where can you read the manga? I want to read it xD |

| Episode was fine I guess, just a bit meh on the storytelling. Actually thought that Arata stopped playing Karuta because his grandfather died, which led me to believe that was a flashback for the first few minutes, guess not. The way that everything worked is a bit cheesy, but it does indicate that Chihaya isn't carrying the team anymore, they can each hold their own. Anyhow, I don't mind Arata as a character, I just mind the inevitably,impending melodrama that's going to happen due to this mediocre phenomenon known as a love triangle. |

| That was ridiculously stupid. I have much better expectations for this series than for them to pull the contrived exhausted/sick out-of-nowhere card. Rest of the episode wasn't so bad, but that farce was enough for this to be the first episode that I've disliked so far. |

Couldn't they pull something better or at least more explainable? Or maybe have Taichi get sick/affected for a change? It feels like we, the viewers, got cheated a bit here =/ Otherwise, the episode was pretty good. Poor Arata and his grandpa ;_; |
| the episode is little rush the sweet moment between chihaya and arata. a little different in manga the hug between chihaya and arata are not intense , arata hug chihaya twice in manga and theres no drama in anime. well atleast we see shinobu # 1 rival of chinaya to karuta and to A*ata :D |

| Loved the episode and Arata was so cute. I still like Taichi a bit more, though. Is there no chance for Taichi to win Chihaya's affection and love? Do you guys think it will definitely be a Chihaya x Arata route? I mean, it is obvious that she always thinks of Arata and she is the happiest whenever he is in the picture but should we give up on ever seeing Chihaya and Taichi together? Can't wait to see more of that black-haired girl. |

For those that are still wondering and might have missed it, although Desk-kun won his match, in the end Mizusawa team lost against Fujisaki, as mentioned by Porky when he said he wanted to play more. Desk-kun suggested to Chihaya that she take the morning bullet train home if she still wasn't feeling well enough to play for the individuals tournament the following day, which Sudo from Hokuo is entering, and Arata is most likely going to register for (if not this time around, the next). ...Hope that clears things up. ... I want maor |

| y u no appreciate the soundtracks? It's like one of the main reasons for watching this since all the taichi x chihaya moments start to irritate me <- not because I dislike them but because it seems that chihaya will end up with arata anyway...booo. The author is such a tease... T^T Poor taichi... |
