Seems Sister Luna is getting acknowledged more for what she's done recently. Deserved.

Organ and Hakuto's conversation was kinda interesting, and she's right...he is too 'nice' for being a demon lord. Episode is okay imo, felt like they gave Hakuto and Organ a decent amount of chemistry together.

I don't remember season 1 being into the "misunderstanding" trope.

Those monkeys just live peacefully in the forest and Hakuto just casually enslave their leader and stealing his weapon. Yeah, this anime is falling apart, even if I ignore the visual quality. Somehow the music is still as good as ever, and that's probably why the music is much louder than the speaking voice.

This show is still all over the place plot-wise with no real idea (at least not that it clearly conveys) where it's going. I suppose that that could actually reflect the MC himself, as he also seems to really just be wandering around without any real plan...but it doesn't make for a compelling story. The enemies seem as confused/confusing as the rest of the show, without any recognizable plan, unable to follow orders, and fighting within themselves.

The humor is fine. The MC's character himself remains the high point. The art remains improved to some extent, still horrible in comparison season 1 and so generic that I genuinely have trouble figuring out who is who between characters with the same hair color, but at least it hasn't been the unhuman monstrosities from the first few episodes.

The first few episodes were 4/10, recently it's gone up to a very generic 6/10, so I'm now giving this show a 1 point boost to 5/10. Congratulations show, you did it. yayyyy.

@phantomfandom as in overlord, the misunderstanding trope seems centered on a specific minion, so it wouldn't have been in play until that minion was summoned and only in episodes where he was present.

Maybe I'll be wrong, but it felt like the monkeys were just a side-gag. In other words, the Demon Lord is on a literal "journey to the west" so he encountered a parody of that story's characters. I personally don't expect them to play a role in the future.

This episode gave me big Season 1 vibes, mainly because it really leaned hard on the goofiness, and the art and animation not being great like Season 1 kinda helps make it funnier in a way, of course I’d like it more if it looked good but the average production kinda works in times like this.

First off, we got a bit of aftermath to the battles that occurred in the previous episode with Tahara going around and gunning down the remaining riffraff, the visual of Tahara’s Gilgamesh style wall of guns was cool but it unfortunately didn’t look as cool as it did in the OP. And then they all celebrated in the hot springs, I guess that’s the benefit of your home base being a hot spring resort lol, I won’t turn down some fanservice of the girls of this show tho, I think this season did make them cuter after all.

But the 2nd half of the episode was my personal favorite, I really liked learning more about Organ, as well as her moments with Kunai, it was a more chill bit compared to the usual wackiness of the show, maybe besides the screaming mushroom lol. Then the part with the Monkeymen came, some pretty good comedy here even if it’s kinda surprising that Kunai would torture those people lol, and it’s right in line with Season 1’s references, this time it’s Journey to the West. And at the very end they finally met back up with Akane and Mink, been wanting to see more of them, hopefully the next arc involves them heavily now that the Luna and Eagle stuff is over.

Man, the music can't get out of this anime's way. It's always way too loud for the scenes, completely hits the wrong tone, like Heroic themes when people are just standing around talking, and dramatic sad tones when someone is being healed.

And it's sad when the pages of a manga have more life than an anime, but that's definitely the case here. The opening scene with Tahara is a joke compared to the manga, which gives an actual air of coolness as he marches through his own gunfire, ignoring the mages falling around him helplessly.

Then, the actual important scene of Madame and Arts having to call a truce is breezed over in like 5 seconds. Par for the course on this anime, where the pacing is garbage.

I don't know who signed off on this, but someone dropped the ball hard, and everyone that tried to pick it up also fumbled it.

Yeesh. Then, we have a LONG scene of Organ explaining EVERY horrible detail of how she came to be, and then it's capped off with a mushroom/scallop thing suddenly screaming cartoonishly. Who decided that was a good idea? I got whiplash from the change in tone.

Un-fucking-real. We finally get the Guns of Babylon scene and it's a complete letdown. Manga completely owns it. IT HAS MORE FRAMES IN THE OPENING FFS.

What an embarrassment.

Sad to watch the animation to be so bad.
But I still like to enjoy the characters interactions.

Organ is a cutie.
The manga was a blast, let's hope they can at least animate her to an extent of her loveliest.

Doubt her. 😅
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

That was some fine work by Tahara, what a massacre.
Everything else seems to be resolved thanks to Kunai & Luna.
It would be in Xenovia's best interest to become allies with Kunai.
Sad past for Organ, no wonder she wants her father killed so badly.
Mink & Akane are doing their part as well.

I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.

The story is finally picking up, and the show has definitely improved in the last four episodes. However, the pacing is still a bit off. I'm not familiar with the source material, but it seems like they might be cutting a lot of content to fit it into the episodes.

Yeah, Hakuto needs to start acting a little more Maou-like if he wants to be taken seriously. Luna is finally getting some much-deserved respect, but it’s all thanks to Hakuto. She needs to acknowledge that instead of trying to take credit for everything he’s done. The bunny village would still be stuck in the past if he hadn’t come along and made it prosperous. Luna would've died trying to save Eagle if it wasn’t for him. In other words, she wouldn't be where she is without him. It’s important to give credit where it’s due. Yes, Luna has grown, and that is a good thing. On the other hand, someone needs to work on the goddamn pacing, it’s atrocious!

seriously, this show has dropped below mid (where it was in the beginning) and is slowly but surely circling the drain towards sewage quality. S1 was good, i liked how it looked, and the storytelling was interesting and entertaining... this S2? sigh. it is a very disappointing sequel.
just an ol school otaku enjoyin the life. don't sass me kiddies, i've been otaku probably since before you were born. leave me in peace and i won't bother you either.
