I'm a humble wordmonger that's been self-publishing my own writings with little success lol. No surprise, of course. I have several irons in the fire, so to speak, with 3 major storylines that I actively work on in "Lovely Drops of Blood", "Glass or Diamond", and a third I'll start publishing sooner or later, and 5 or so more ideas that I've started and continuously brainstorm ideas for, jotting down ideas for later use.
I like animes, specifically well-done sci-fi or fantasy stories. I rate animes on my list based on how enjoyable they are, and how rewatchable they are. My major points of focus are; 1) How likeable are the characters -are they consistent with how they are introduced, do they have to grow or struggle through the story, do they have their own unique personalities from other characters in the story, and if they're OP as F, does it still make for a good story?-. 2) How deep is the plot? Is it too complex to make sense of? Is it enjoyable? Does it think it's much more clever than it actually is? Does it flow smoothly forward with a satisfying ending or seasonal conclusion? 3) Do the things I care less for overtake the story to such a degree that it suffers? Fanservice is the biggest one. I don't need lewdness in my story animes, but it can be tastefully or usefully done without derailing the plot too much and wasting time.
Fanservice is like seasoning in opinion. Too much is a bad thing (Unless it's the actual point of the anime). Overpowering/derailing the good points of an anime is a bad thing. Some of my more favored animes could be much higher scores or even perfect if the fanservice didn't stop the flow of the events, such as the stereotypical "falls into her cleavage" trope or the "overly lewd old guy character" trope, which 9 times out of 10 are both dragged out well beyond being funny or useful.
