Of course, more mysteries. It seems with every episode, this show decides to add in a little twist with more investigations. Tinasha had to put her thinking cap on again.

At this point, I beliee Tinasha really does care about Oscar, but in her own way. Feels like the show will continuous build their bond.

Best episode since the first one, actually felt sense of cohesiveness here.

Oscar went way too far there with cutting off Tinasha's magic, very poor from him.

Dissapointing episode - anime didn't correct original source's errors and didn't call out Tinasha's and Als' wrongdoings. Doing something behind your man's back, moreover involving another man in it is never a good idea regardless of rationalization. Als fault is even worse - don't act behind your boss back and dont't mess with his woman without his knowledge. Phisical panishment was not enough - he should have been demoted.

after these epiaodes, i stand by my 4 rating. there is too much left out. even this episode hints towards valt who has some relationship with miraslys and he is the main antagonist, but the overall plot is still more confusing and makes one feel like you needed to read the series first to enjoy it.

on that note, the series gets even crazier and has a lot to do with well memories and time. dont want to spoil it but it can be rather complicated as is. this anime approach is making it worse.

maybe one more episode of feint hope, but likely a drop

Overall good episode, the "joke" Oscar played was in extremely poor taste and has soured my taste for him, even though he did apologize.

More secrets to uncover, as well. Was the girl a witch? What was the orb she tried to take? Why did Oscar's mother bring it? Was she a witch?

questions, questions...

JC am I witnessing the death of morals or what, there is no justification to how Oscar reacted towards Tinasha, she was visibly distressed as a result of him trying to "teach her a lesson" by attempting to sexually assault her, and bro went ahead whoopin Als of whom I thought were close friends, the least he could've done was listen to him first. Lets not even talk about how he used a magical item to unable Tinasha to defend herself prior to attempting to "teach her a lesson", that whole debacle was in bad taste and you just know it was due in part to bad writing and the cherry on top of that whole cringe cake was bro grabbing Tinashas and slapping her onto his lap with no meaningful apology whatsoever. Damn thats pure cinema right there, honestly I'm in shambles I kinda liked Oscar's character but I guess with anime adaptations these days you sorta just have to make do with the law of diminishing returns as the episodes run by.

Finally an episode I actually understand what’s going on in! Most cohesive narrative since the first episode. Cool seeing Tinasha and Oscar work together in the big fight at the end, but I still have some issues with the animation quality which has severely dropped, as well as Oscar behaviour in this ep.

I know Oscar apologised and he obviously didn’t know about Tinasha past PTSD from being carried like that, but why even play like you’re about to SA her? Found that entire scene really cringe and uncomfortable and just a departure from who he’s been as a character so far. Putting the magic dealing bracelet on her was stupid too and it could’ve cost them during that big fight.

Also punishing Als when he was just trying to find out what Miraslys was after makes no sense to me. Did he even listen to him or try to find out why Als did that with Tinasha?

That aside.. there’s also some questions brought up at the end about the red orb Miraslys was going for. If Oscar mom used to own it, I’m kinda starting to think she was a witch and that’s probably part of the whole beef she had with the witch that cursed Oscar. Probably were friends and liked the same guy, other one felt betrayed etc.

They name dropped Valt who I guess is going to be the main antagonist? The timeline jumping and scattered storytelling make this one hard to follow, but I do really like the characters, designs and world so I’m just pushing thru. Will be reading the LN soon.

This show takes the timeskip trope and applies it to every scene. They're talking and then the next scene they haven't seen each other in a week. They're arguing and then she's immediately sitting in his lap.

Also a little bit of trying to rape someone as a prank.

This show just turned to shit in one scene.

So much skipped content and scenes just jumping from one moment to another almost feels like its random.
this is a 4 score they really butchered the light novel content leave a sour taste seriously one of the worst adaptations I've ever seen.
Had hoped that at least I'll enjoy some scene but nope nothing was good here even the battle was below average at best.

I hated that Oscar scene when reading the books given the kind of character the series is trying to make him out to be earlier, and the anime didn't help one bit. His character wasn't ever that great for me but this episode felt like a giant nosedive for him in spite of my already negative opinions on him.

@Kamquat420 I could hardly fucking believe what I was watching. I find what he did so deeply despicable that there is no possible world in which it would be okay. Miralys went too far, I did not expect her to attack Oscar and Tinasha. She was put there at the orders of Master Ettard to watch over Oscar.

This episode was great, I liked it. Oscar and Aeti really deserve to get married, but I think we still have to wait longer for that =)

That seal ornament which Tinasha received from Oscar is pretty good, only royal descendent can wear it.

You and me both @halcyon66 I barely made it through that ep, that was atrocious, and it especially sucks because 5 eps is a huge time investment just for them to fck up a promising character's development.

A big dump of info on Miralys and her origins.
I can't say I'm fond of her going away, it would be nice for her to stay in the story.
Anyways, looks like Tinasha is not a virgin anymore.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

I'm really starting to wonder if Oscar is poorly written or the anime is adapting this terribly.

That response to the PTSD attack was not ok. A simple apology would not be enough for that.

All I am looking forward to in the next few weeks is seeing Tinasha's backstory and if she can resolve any of it.
Get excited, I suppose.

@halcyon66 I didn't like Oscar much from the beginning because his princely power got to his head and he's arrogant and doesn't care about what others want. Now this just cemented my opinion

I'm dropping this. Unfortunate because I do like Tinasha and I thought this was going to be a wholesome romance.

It is sad that she doesn’t understand that this man is willing to travail through earth, heaven, and hell, as long as he is able to have her love.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

I guess we can all agree about the Rape « prank »
This anime has so much potential and they’re ruining it with this poor writing.
Not to bargue bit i’ve seen so many anime romances and the relation between Oscar and Tinasha is just frustrating, he keeps getting his hands on her and she doesn’t seem to dislike it but she still doesn’t want to marry him. It’s like mixed signals. And Oscar is becoming more and more arrogant by the episodes going, what do you mean by beating the shit outta your friend without asking any explanation? And why is his only idea in a response for what he thought about Als and Tinasha is a rape prank? With the bracelet that takes off magic too? Without ptsd it’s already low like taking off magic from a witch is like taking milk from a baby. How can you do all these awful things while pretending liking the girl?
I just can’t understand anymore these characters.
I’m more interested now by the plot about Tinasha’s past than the actual romance (or whatever this relation is) between these guys.
I really hope they “upgrade” the writing level and stop the awkward behaviours from the MCs or i will be forced to drop this anime

I see a good amount of man hating comments in here, but if it was the woman that did this, I bet these same people would justify her actions, blame the man for everything, then call her independent, empowered, and strong. You judge men for everything, but never judge women for anything.

Tinasha has made it very clear that, at this point in time, she's not his woman and has no intention of ever being so. Even Oscar knows that what he did was creepy and possessive, hence why the second he stopped to think he immediately started apologizing and backed off of her. Thinking he was in the right there is missing the point and also means you shouldn't be allowed around women

I really hope it was indeed just a prank and he didn't planned on doing anything creepy. I guess he wouldn't, because that would be out of character for him. Glad he even admitted it was in poor taste, which means he learned something and won't do that again. I hope.

@zyke It has no bearing on me watching it or not. If I am engaged in the story it tells, I watch it.
Even more so, if the MC commit a grave mistake, recognize its mistake and apologies, it even ground him more in reality. Not everything is black and white.

@Mainblocks You know, "bothsidesism", despite popular belife, is never a right solution. If the author left Tinasha's and Als' wrongdoings in the original story without emphasizing that it was an inappropriate behavior, this means that she never recognized such behavior as inappropriate and never took accountability for the situation irl which she used as an "inspiration". Moreover, the situation was farther downplayed not in the Oscars' favor in the anime (at least in the manga Als apologized for his wrongdoings) - the whole problematic issue was not properly depicted, dissected and dealed with. And the author goes even farther with Tinasha's misconducts as the story progresses, wich shows that she had learn nothing from her supposedly failed relations. Which is normal for a woman I guess, but distorts audience's perception of a proper behavior.

"Which is normal for a woman I guess"

Wow, you're just not even trying to hide the insane amount of misogyny you have

Someone above said "And of course, more of the courtship ritual. Oscar is resolute, and Tinasha keeps denying him. The dance continues" , so basically she should give up???? even if she does not want Oscar or be Queen

I was hoping that girl won't die but then again we didn't get/learn much of her to care that much. Oscar triggered Tinasha's bad memories, what happened in the past? Also as expected Oscar's mother is connected to the things happening. I mean it started with her death and the curse/blessing after all.

I was really liking the plotline but the scene of Oscar pretending to assault Tinasha did not go down smoothly with me. I remembered a similar scene in The Romance of Tiger and Rose, a Chinese drama where the male lead pretends to assault the female lead to see if she really got her powers back. That also left a bad taste in my mouth. I also remember finding out that in Konosuba manga, Darkness tries to rape Kazuma and I was like what the hell? Pretending to SA someone is the worst thing you can do second next to actually doing it. It's not that if the woman did it, it won't be a problem. It still will be. No matter who does it, violating someone's body is not right. The media should know that they really shouldn't show these things if they aren't going to be dealt with properly.
