This episode actually seemed light on some parts although there's still the feeling of despair.

Sawa and Asahi are now living together. Asahi in particular brightens the mood between them and she seems happy to be with her. They manage to even watch the night moon together.

Too bad Tsuki had to ruin the mood this episode and had to push that revenge shit onto Sawa. Tsuki's monster form also looks hideous imo. Poor Asahi D:

Asahi and Sawa have finally gotten out of reach of both Nue and Tokyo, and living under paid protection from Tsukishiro's family.

At this point, Jin is no different from being a government dog, and Tsukishiro's painkiller-cum-PTSD journey of finding "treasures (of the Karasumori Clan)" to topple the Tokugawa regiment and save Sawa, only proves the theory that the Nue executioner group is no more, and only ideals exist.

Asahi's such a kid to coerce Sawa with the caretaker Okimura-sensei, and Tsukishiro's idolizing plea to Sawa only reopens and brings back old wounds, pushing the old revenge-filled Sawa back to his senses.

The initial plan has been wiped out, and only forced revenge fills the desires of Sawa. What an ass-pull situation of Tsuki's.

Yep... It's not easy to change. Yuki and Asahi have reached a safe place and found a shelter above their head. It's not that bad when you think about it that they've escaped from their previous life or I wish they actually did.

Glad to see that Asahi has already made friends at their new place. Oikawa Sensei also seems like a nice guy. Other than that, I guess they're still not totally safe since so many people are still looking for them. Also, Tsukishiro still wanna ruin their lives.

They managed to watch the moon together. It was short-lived tho. Everything changed in a blink of an eye. Poor Asahi... she didn't deserve that. And now back to square one. Back on the path of revenge.

Will Sawa and Asahi's peaceful life last long? NO...
It's a pain. Poor poor... Asahi. I hope she will not die for real, she did not deserve that at all.

Tsuki, you really are a pain in the ass. You helped her but you didn't wanted her to live a peaceful life.

Going by how everyone around Sawa dies, she's probably going to die herself in the end.

Nah man this some bullshit. We all knew the peaceful days wouldn’t last forever, but to take Asahi and Sensei from us in one episode? What the fuck. It was so contrived and anti-climatic too. And for what reason? “I want yukimura back” what type of BS.. I’ll see where it goes next week, but this ep almost made me

Tsuki really being a b*tch. Really need some backstory on her actions. I hope she doesn't turn into some crazy lesbian cos she's clearly obsessed with Sawa. RIP to asahi and sensei, you didn't deserve to go out this way.

Oh, this episode was so incredibly sad. Watching Sawa and Asahi finally happy and seemingly at peace was wonderful, although I had a feeling it would be fleeting. I didn't expect Tsuki would stoop to that though.

What the flying fudge was this episode? The budget had disppeared! The pacing was off, the characters jumping between mental states, times of the day and meetings, strange sound design, still-frames, and the super speed development of the plot?

Asahi have just a tragic life. Shitty childhood with horrible parents, wanting revenge even if knowing her parents death was a positive thing, get kidnapped, bet her life to fake Sawa death, get a good life just to some months later get cut and maybe died by the sword of a crazy furry.

I hated this. Tsuki was right - Sawa had become boring. Everything this episode not involving her was a slog to get through. Ever since she got her revenge, Sawa has just been going through the motions. They introduce this nerdy love interest, but in the brief interactions she has with him, she's lifeless. Yet we're supposed to care when he dies? I have a hard time believing she should care he's dead.

Then there's Asahi. While I found her very annoying this episode, she at least makes sense. She just wanted to live a normal life with Sawa (as naive as that was). As much as I was dreading her dying previously, it was pretty anti-climactic. When she was kidnapped by Janome, I felt really anxious for her. Here, I never expected Tsuki to actually kill her. Not only that, when she does die, the camera cuts away, the book goes flying, and it's just like "Really? She's just dead now? Okay."

Tsuki honestly had the most potential to be interesting, but the show decided to lean into being mysteriously cryptic. I hated it at the beginning of episode 4, but at least that resolved itself by the end of the episode. This time, the episode goes out of its way to not explain anything. Tsuki completes the scavenger hunt, which seemed superfluous and only served to waste her time. She discovers that Janome, at least, wasn't completely responsible for the massacre of Sawa's family/clan/village, but she's not allowed to convey her findings to the audience or to Sawa. And we still don't really know what her endgame is.

It felt good to vent. Honestly, I barely even wanted to watch this episode. Now, I don't think I'll continue on.

There was a severe drop in quality in both narrative and animation in this episode. But I think I'll keep on watching out of morbid curiosity.

Welp....RIP Asahi. Not sure what the hell Tsuki's trying to achieve here. You want Sawa back.....ok I guess? Kind of weird to help her and Asahi escape and then you turn around and pull this. Let's see what happens.....

I don’t understand why they chose to animate Asahi’s death like that. Why is Sawa/Yukimura’s face moving so weirdly?

And where does the book come from? If Asahi was holding it, it should just fall to the ground. How does it make sense for it to fly so high up into the air?

they really just killed her off just like that huh, well I saw it coming since there would be no way their lives would be peaceful for the next half of the season; real talk now did sensei even die though? dude just suddenly started bleeding unless Tsuki is just lightning fast and was able to stab him without showing herself for even a single frame

Fucking pain, that's 2 days in a row where a show killed a kid, fuck.

I was really enjoying Asahi and Sawa's slice of life, it was really nice to see Sawa smiling, she does look really cute when she's smiling. But, I knew deep down, that ain't gonna last. Sawa deserves happiness, the Sensei would have been a nice husband for Sawa. I can see him being killed, but didn't fucking expect Asahi to die too though.

Tsukishirou's just bat shit insane now, probably because of the pain killers plus that blue stone thing.

I liked the last episode, but this one was pretty messy.

I don’t know what any of the characters want to do or they want to do it anymore. There was a 6 month or so time skip to establish Yuki adapting to a quiet life and her teased romance with some guy just to take it all away in the same episode. It lacks impact because it was built up too quickly. Similarly, the death of Asahi also lacked any impact because they presented it in the most confusing way possible offscreen.

Hopefully the next episode shows some more promise.

Does anyone think that Sawa looks way prettier in this episode xD maybe due to the kimono but they seem to make sure she looks prettier today lol
Btw the plot move too fast..Asahi should've live till 10 to 11 before the finale
Now we only had Sawa, tsuki(maybe next is her last), and Jin for the living cast(if u didn't count yoshinobu as the main cast)

I don’t like dropping shows, but if this had more than 12 eps, I don’t think I would stick with it - it’s becoming more and more of a chore to watch, with just a few decent moments here and there. Tsuki is batshit crazy - why set up that elaborate plan and then destroy it completely? Does the chief guy (I can’t remember his name) really know she’s still alive and her location or was that a bluff to get Tsuki to give him the bag? Do I really care? Hmmmm... not much, I suppose. I do hope the little girl isn’t really dead. If she is, that was a crappy way to kill her off.

The writing of this anime is really, really bad. This episode jumped around a lot without really exploring any of the themes, characters, or relationships it set up... Instead we end up with a dead "love interest" who had like 2 minutes of proper screen time, and a dead Asahi very anticlimactically.

Honestly thought Jouran was gunna take an interesting turn, instead we get a character who we thought was a good guy, then turned out to be a double agent, then seemed to actually care about Sawa, but no she actually just wants Sawa to be trapped in an endless revenge cycle even though the original plan was to free Sawa? I'm really confused by Tsuki's character "development". We didn't get nearly enough of her going crazy from drug addiction and hallucinations to warrant her new attitude.

Still absolutely no concrete explanation on Tsuki's backstory or motivations. This series has a lot going for it, but storytelling hasn't been one of them. It's incredibly hard to empathize with these characters and be invested in these plot twists when we know next to nothing. Everything simply happens, and I couldn't care less. Almost a perfect definition of mediocre.

I don't understand, why did Tsukishiro help Sawa and Asahi in the first place. If you're going to come back to get Sawa back to the revenge shit then why say you're going to free Sawa. I was starting to think that Tsukishiro might be romantically attracted to Sawa but it turned out Tsukishiro is just one twisted character. I was really hoping that drinking chatting scene in the previous episode came true and really wished Asahi and Sawa to live a normal life but everything got ruined. I thought it was the organization that killed Elena but it was actually Tsukishiro.

Even if it's those medicines that made Tsukishiro like this, that monster went too far.

I cracked up. Monster Tsukishiro has the most shitty design XD

Asahi and Sawa leading a normal life for some times was wholesome to see. I liked Sawa to be with sensei but too bad he was taken away in a single episode. :'( I entirely don't believe Asahi is dead though, it seems pointless for a main character this far into the story. Sawa just can't catch a break :(
