| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well this season didn't waste much time getting right down to the action. I have to admit, seeing Tsubasa on her iconic bike entering the show gave me goosebumps. That and seeing Hibiki fight almost felt nostologic. Nice to see Chris around as well and she's still badass as I remember. The songs are okay. A bit repetitive in overall tone but matched the action scenes pretty well. This is going to be a fun fourth season if they can keep it up. The new threats has my interest so far since one of those monsters look legit frightening. Maria and her team showed up at the end. I really hope this season keeps her relevant. |

| I honestly didn't think they would be able to beat how great season 3s opening scene was but... holy shit was i very very wrong, that was intense. No idea what's going on though. Ogawa still being a beast for no reason. Going to hold out on the rest of the episode for subs i think, but damn. That was nice. |

| Watched it Raw because I simply cannot wait to get my Symphogear. Poor Miku doesn't get time to be with her Wife. _____ This episode went straight to bullet hell, Missiles, Tanks, Flying Dreadnoughts and Alca-Noise from the start. That was intense. Symphogear always delivers, but this time it delivered a carpet bombing to the screen. The new enemies look great, but...who was that girl in the crystal? it looked like a Carol clone. | There is a lot I liked in this episode. And I think it is a good sign that there isn't anything that worries me even by the end unlike GX's first episode. No random and odd breakdowns of character. Instead we're seemingly getting something I wanted last season, good focus on Chris! It is fair to dig into the trauma of what happened to her in that country years ago. We've tackled how she felt about her parents (who I still think are morons for taking a kid into a war zone), her guilt over Solomon's cane, and finding her place in semi-normal life. But, this lets us go back to what made her willing to cooperate with Fine in the first place. Ugly war and deaths in this country, seemingly the same one her parents died in (oh coincidence). But yeah this was a great start. I mean Symphogear fighting against armies and alca noise (those are getting spread around as weapons to various groups) and heck of Ogawa getting to fight ninja style. Exciting and fun start to axz. |

| Lots of unexpected moments But the Bananas killed me Hope they can keep it up. :D The part that bugs me most would be Cagliostro sounds too "onee" like the actor is trying too hard |

| This was such a blast for a starting episode, makes me kinda hyped for the rest of the season already. Seems we're getting a season with more detail on Chris's past in it, very interesed in that tbh. |

| Judging by some spoilers I heard, I thought the episode would be tame, but, Holy Shit, it was the same Symphogear's crazyness of always! That moment where Kirika and Shirabe open the helicopter's doors and just left the rocket pass throught it made me flip my shit. Sasuga, Symphogear, you did your job well, as always. We also had a first view of the bad guys of this series (I still cannot believe Cagliostro is voiced by a dude, my brain still doesn't assumes that) Pillar Men style and it looks we are going to have another antagonist later in the season just like what they did with Ver in GX. It also looks those Bavarian Illuminati are also able to sing, like Carol in GX. Good, good. My Sundays are going to be a blast, that's for sure. |

| Ah, good ol symphogear. I don't remember what happened in the last season other than the characters but I'm liking the constant action, songs and the visuals which seem to have improved (I think). |

| Oh god what an exciting episode, the sheer over-the-top action moments were glorious! Super glad to be getting my weekly dose of Hibiki back~ Cutting huge flying ships, punch deflecting tank shells, god I can't wait for next week!  Only thing though so far is that Cagliostro's seiyuu might take a bit of getting used to, considering it's a guy, but that'll just happen naturally I suppose. |

| Man I was so hyped for this that I spent the last 3 days marathoning the first 3 seasons from start to finish to get myself ready for season 4. Ah my Symphogear vibes have been triggered in all the right ways. Praise for AXZ; already my hype of the season. But looks like we got sexy onee-san magical girls as the enemy. The lit begins. |

| It feels a bit odd to see Hibiki fighting in a full-scale war since she has to be fighting people when we all know she'd rather talk them out of it - but hot diggity-dang! That was insane!!! Symphogear vs Military has always been something I knew I wanted from this show, and now I actually have it! As odd as I found it for Hibiki to be a part of this without being concerned over fighting humans, I loved the meticulous manner in which they made sure not to cause any casualties. Can't say I was expecting Alchemy to be our main focus again, but I also can't say it's an unwelcome return. It'll be interesting to see how the shake things up. And most importantly: We're delving into Chris's backstory!!! YES!!! But also no, because that means she's gonna experience trauma... Please don't hurt my Yukine! |

She's either not too focused on or she's going through emotional trauma. Some of her best moments were in S2 because of how emotional events around Solomon's Cane were for her. Obviously I hope things go alright for her, but it is nice to see her getting focused on again. There is more they can do with her than say Tsubasa who they have pretty heavily explored at this point. Delve into the event that really shaped her life. Just love seeing Hibiki smashing away tank shells. I think she's learned that fighting people is ok so long as you aren't trying to kill them. Classic superhero mindset. Just take away their ability to fight. Breaking their weapons isn't harmful. And yeah have wanted to see how Symphogear would hold up against conventional military force. Pretty well it seems XD. |

| Cagliostro's voice work's pretty good; wouldn't have suspected a thing if I didn't already know. Hibiki deflecting missiles was fucking hype. Looks like Chris will get good focus this season. Will rewatch when we get song subs. |

Given that it is summer in Japan right now and they have to do homework, but then end up watching this... Hibiki deflecting tank shells with her fists while slowwwwly walking forward? BASED HIBIKI IS BASED. Chris spitting out a bullet? BASED CHRIS IS BASED. Tsubasa going "EXCALIBUR" on a giant flying ship? BASED TSUBASA IS BASED. Kirika and Shirabe opening a door to let a rocket pass while shouting out "We are Awesome!"? BASED KIRIKA AND SHIRABE IS BASED. Maria ramming a jeep into a giant dragon while transforming? AT THE SAME TIME!? BASED MARIA IS BASED. THAT'S HOW CAGLIOSTRO'S VOICE SOUNDS LIKE?! Well, looks like Chris just fell out of the waifu chair, because Cagliostro is best girl now. I bet this came as a huge surprise to hearing a male voice actor voicing a woman. Shouta Aoi did not disappoint. Show these seiyuus how a real man voices a woman! Emiya Shirou can learn a thing or two from Genjuro: Symphogear proving to the anime industry once again that they are the masters of crazy horseshit. I was laughing so hard that I was literally shedding tears. If this is Kaneko's definition of "slow", then Buddha save us. |
