Overall Kuchu Buranko was what I expected and more, becoming my favorite show for this season (And this one was a really good season), so I'm going to rate it 10/10 (And this episode a 5/5) and I'm gonna keep an eye on the source material.

Am I slow, or was it never mentioned that the hospital is named after Irabu?

Besides that, this was one of the weaker episodes, so it's a shame that it's also the final one. Regardless, this was one of the best shows of the year.

8/10.

What a nice way to wrap up this show and as cheesy as it may sound, "no one is perfect" suits as a final message for Kuchu Buranko.

Good show overall, it had some boring moments but the execution was fine most of the time. It's also nice to see some original stuff.

The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

Excellent series. Think this might get a 10/10 from me (which is pretty rare).

Come on, it's not a weak episode, it has just a different pattern from the other ones: it has no patient, and the one who takes the role of a patient has no particular psychological disorder, "just" stress and alienation. But, as many stated, it's the cancer of our society (meant as a web of relationships), so this last episode sends out a heartwarming message of hope in mankind.

Episode 10 asked me to raise his rating from 7 to 8, and this one asked me "do you really want to mix this up with all the very good shows out there? This deserves something more, because it IS something more".

Therefore, 9/10, best show (I've been watching) in the season.

A fresh breeze in the stagnant, harem-polluted air the present-day anime industry breathes. While a little inconsistent, it was generally inventive, original, intelligent and most importantly funny. My lasting impression would've been better had episode 10 been the last one, though - can't deny that.

Best non-sequel this season. :)

What a great anime. This is one of the best endings I've seen in a long time. I don't feel like there's something missing or like it needs a second season at all.

Did anyone else get super excited at the very end when they showed Nodame Cantabile!!?

I'm stuck between 8/10 and 9/10 :(

Too bad it doesn't air for another few weeks.

Anyway, easily the best show of 2009. I really liked the art style and the fact that it was partly live action helped for some of the more dramatic moments. The usual facial design in anime doesn't work the best for visible emotion, so using partly the partly animated faces of the voice actors was a nice move. A very enthusiastic 9 out of 10 from me.

And how many people got hooked on Denki Groove's music because of this series? I know I did.

Brilliant ending to a great series. Was a few episodes that felt weakish around the middle but the start and the ending ones were so damn good. Very unique show, loved the animation and art, the ideas were really deep, just so damn good. 9/10. Was definitely one of the best shows of 2009 that's for sure, was a great way to kick off the new year for me (is 2010 already here)

@above, I got quite interested in Denki Groove as well thanks to this show :)

Trapeze is going down in my book as the best 'feel-good' anime I've ever seen. I had some original misgivings with all the artfaggory but I'm so glad I stuck with this. It's sorta snuck up on me how much I've enjoyed this series. Can't say I liked this episode all that much, especially after episode 10 which was probably the best of the season, although I can see why they ended with it.

It was sad seeing this series end. I have Nodame Cantabile, Eden of the East and Haruhi movies to look forward to this year, but I doubt--with the exception of maybe Nodame--that they'll pack as much freshness and charm that this one had. Now if Despera will be scheduled to air this year...

I wonder if Irabu's story continues in the novel; I'd love to read it after I improve my Japanese reading skills. Overall, awesome work; Kenji Nakamura is a talented director and I hope he'll work in future projects, especially those in the same vein as this and Mononoke.

You're not the only one! Irabu was the Vice Chairman??! Was this revealed previously? o_O

Great end to the series, especially loved the build up pre-OP. Felt really bad for Yuta's mother, with Tsuda not being supportive but also stressed... but I guess, as others mention, they are a reflection of our wider society. Really loved this show, though personally would have preferred less Mayumi fanservice.

No one is perfect. :>

(Super excited about Nodame's return too!!!!! xD)

Like everyone else said, I will really miss this show. It stood out in a good way. There were some really witty and clever episodes, although this last one was a bit confusing. It would be too much to hope for a second season, I guess. But that would just be perfect.

This show....

It was one of the best series I've ever seen. Probably, this episode is my favourite all, in terms of how it wrapped everything up nicely.

This episode was about us. How modern people suffers from individual stresses, and pains. That's why there was no specified symptom. 'Listen to canarias around you', this basically means that we need to listen the voice of hope around us and follow them without ignoring it. If you ignore, canary dies.

Today's psychiatrist simply gives a drug treatment for the depression or other symptoms. Irabu said 'We have to listen to all the individual canaries, that's why record them'. Irabu follows every single way that his patient goes, and record what they do. Ah... I can now see everything clear, all the symbolism now make sense.

"No-one is perfect"

10/10, True masterpiece

Actually in the source material (novels) Irabu didn't follow the patients around, but it was a good idea for this anime adaptation.

I bet Irabu throws the best Christmas parties. Anyway it was a fitting end for a great series. I also think that this show had spectacular symbolism. Even with Irabu being a maniac and the crazy animation, it was pretty deep and I love anime that makes you think. There's lots of reasons to give this a high rating, it's definitely as close to a masterpiece as you can get, if not one. 9/10

great episode anyway :),maybe the 2nd greatest after the previous one :)

i'm gonna somehow miss kuchu buranko, that crazy doctor and mayumi-chaaan :D,even god damn fukuiichi xD

i'm going to give this series and 8/10 and the episode a 5/5 :)
it would've gotten a higher note from me but there were some less interesting episodes in the middle(and episode 1,wich sucked)

so i think 8's a fair note :)
