I'm not sure what to say when it comes to this show. I'm more or less just shocked at the whole premise. I mean, it starts off and LOOKS like your normal anime about a dude working at a bathhouse while being a highschooler ... until you realize the guy working with the highschooler not only is a vampire, they couldn't just stop at that no no no, he's a HORNY vampire out to PROTECT THIS BOY'S VIRGINITY... xDDDDDDDDDDDDD And yes, from that flashback we saw... is this guy a pedophile? Well, some questions are better left unanswered. But I mean, at least the parent are a good influence right??? LOL, Dad heard his son fell in love and first thing he does is clown his son because of how shoujo-y his first love went... oh, but at least he ends it off with telling him to wear a condom at the very least. But yeah, vampire goes to meet with girl dude fell in love with.. and just LMAOOOO. |

Amongst mangaka Hiromasa Okujima's many works, this BL series stands out for its "unique" theme for incorporating BL with the vampire theme. Blue Encount's Shonen rock OP is just alright, and the same goes for Botchi Boromaru's ED. The bathhouse vampire of Ranmaru Mori living in a bathhouse with the 4th generation son of 15-year-old Rihito Tatsuno, he's fascinated with his blood, just as any vampire would lust for human's blood. But his interest coincidentally meeting Aoi Shinozuka out of the blue in the usual late with toast trope, and he's quite smitten with her with their first rites of school. But this is bad news to Ranmaru, which he must protect his virginity at all costs, made worse when he met Rihito 10 years ago in broad daylight, saving him form death, and now being loyal to him to want to suck his blood when he turns 18. Of course, how could Rihito hold in his love affection to Aoi to share to the men in the bathhouse, which Ranmaru goes on a rampage which unfortunately left Rihito fuming to leave his bath in anger. The guy which he hopes to get some love advice out of, Ranmaru's past isn't exactly honorable, but it's clear that Rihito's in love, even with Aoi's handkerchief with him, and this is Ranmaru's breaking point to scout Aoi out at her house...only for her to deny being in love with Rihito? What gives? Interesting BL show that differs from your stereotypical BL premise. |

This reminded me a lot of Migi to Dali with the way the anime makes fun of certain tropes in such a way that you don't know whether it's ironic or not. I thoroughly enjoyed Namikawa Daisuke's amazing performance and I'm very curious as to what they'll have in store for us. I wonder whether the plot will deepen or if we're getting similar episodes repeating key moments like 4 or 5 times in 20 minutes lol |

Not into BL at all, but the pacing of the first episode was good, the comedy elements does work and animation is pretty good. Having a groomer-vampire is a weird thing, but this is the kind of absurd things that can only increase the comedic potential of the anime. That said, the show will get haters for sure. For me it's a wait & see scenario like most seasonal anime. I hope it will focus on comedy. |

As a male virginity specialist this anime interest me. I remember dropping manga after reading just the first chapter because the vampire choose to wait but I prefer him not to. It's very obvious but just in case someone doesn't get it, in this anime sucking blood is a metaphor for having sex, so it's ultimately about sexual abstinence. |

You know what's funny? The whole time I thought the vampire guy had a Hisoka vibe with his pedo poses. And after finishing the ep, I went to look at his VA (Namikawa Daisuke)... Well, guess who he also voiced? You guessed right, he voiced Hisoka. The cast was picked by a genius. This is too hilarious to be true. |

Was about to drop this after the the first episode, but the ending piqued my interest. Following a one-sided romance dynamic where a third party is helping the uninterested one could be fun, so I'll stick around for one more to see which route the story is heading. Still, having the show center around an underage boy and a pedophilic vampire who's also a stereotypically depicted homosexual is a hard pill to swallow, even when it is a hyperbole for comedy purposes... |

Actually insane. Like, this feels like a BL that would've come out 20 years ago insane. Now that it's 2025 I hope it handles its subject matter with a little more grace. Hopefully? Maybe? Maybe not. Look, as long as it stays entertaining and the jokes keep rolling, I'll probably keep watching. But right now I'm watching under the pretense that Mori and Rihito won't end up together. Still weird but I have faith this anime will surprise me in a good way. Also, why does everyone in this show have the physique of a bodybuilder?? |

It was an interesting first episode to say the least. I’m not sure if this counts as BL, but perhaps we’ll see more enticing interactions with other characters in the next episode. Mori is very beautiful, I love the way he’s drawn. And it’s very refreshing to see someone’s mother actually look her age. If anything, she looks a tad bit older than her husband. But seeing that made me give the anime a little gold star. Rihito is adorable. Regardless of Mori’s intentions, I think he’s a real sweetheart. He acts like a normal guy, but he’s also a bit naive and green. I see him enjoying a nice school life even with Mori trying to get in his way. I didn’t like the opening, the song or the visuals, but I did enjoy the ending, the song and the visuals. I wonder how come Mori didn’t deal with those gangsters who were chasing him in a “vampiric” way. I could understand a normal man getting ganged up on, but if you're a vampire can’t you just move with vampiric speed and take care of the people who are hunting you? Questions, questions.. |

I feel like the OP is too serious for a story with a silly premise like this hahah (or is it going to be a bit more serious later?) It's pretty funny and I'm quite interested in the sad love story between Ran and his exes. Also, I love Ran's design, such a pretty vampire. :3 |

@lordgaara I totally agree. I feel like if they "keep the joke as the joke" it has the potential to be a good series. The first episode is balancing equally on a tightrope so as long as they don't get crazy with it, they can literally toe the line until the end of the series. Hopefully, lol. |

@JaysonNnN See, I think it surely comes across as ephebophilia (attraction to older teens that are still classified as minors and just as wrong; it's just important to use the proper language), but the way the story is being laid out so far if you're not paying attention. Mori wants to groom Rihito into sexual purity not so that he can have sex with him, but actually the opposite. Mori wants to keep Rihito sexually pure and untouched so that he can devour him when he becomes of age. He's not treating him like a lover, he's treating him like veal. He even said that the difference between someone who has been sexually awakened versus a virgin was basically like eating prime rib and an old eraser. It's just being given a coating of BL gloss to make him look sexually attracted to Rihito where the true menacing part about him is that he aims to kill/devour him in 3 years time. And THAT is how people are going to miss the message. It doesn't help that the VA is also the same one for Hisoka who was sexually turned onto strong people and therefore projected those inappropriate feelings towards Gon/Killua, two children. But it would be an interesting observation to see how this anime might get all the flack when other titles that are inappropriate towards women/girls are commonplace in anime. Looking at you, Mushoku Tensei.... |

I donr know if this was adapted from a manga but as far as the anime is...I guess this is one of those where you switch your brain off and laugh. the vampire is...well...thirsty and horny.....i enjoyed it honestly. and I guess I'll watch it for that purpose only. the scene with his pants tenting...was unexpected. I don't like the op. and oh..I do have a problem with how the scenes randomly cut to another. that's just abrupt. |

I think it's interesting that a BL manga got serialized in a shounen magazine. Usually BL manga gets published in dedicated Yaoi magazines or shoujo magazines. Usually the fujoshis are the ones pairing up male characters in Shounen manga, not the mangaka lol. It's even a joke on Twitter (getting queerbaited by shounen anime is like losing chess to a dog). I did read the mangaka's previous work Bad Boys, Happy Home, and I was impressed by how realistically stupid they act. Usually boys in BL are a bit more effeminate and emotionally self-aware. It's not unrealistic persay. But these teenage boys have nothing in their head lmao. Anyway, if you know about Japanese history, you would know that Mori Ranmaru was Oda Nobunaga's retainer and sexual lover. He's not only a creepy groomer vampire; he's also a historical figure. Dude died at 16-17, so if he assume his mental age stayed the same for 450 year, the age-gap is way less problematic. (PEAK COPE). |
