Kind of hurts my brain though having to read multiple lines of subtitles at once and I am legitimately trying to carefully listen to this "accent" (it's really more a dialect isn't it?). At least I'm learning some things about Okinawa, though of course I am sure it is exaggerated lol Both girls are cute. | this feels like one hell of an anime to translate/localize... the fansub I watched opted for keep all the dialect words/expressions untranslated... it works, since the main character don't understand what she say anyways, but I think official translation or dub wouldn't allow themselves to do this, lol anyway, the episode was fun, the characters are enjoyable... kudos for the Eva reference... will follow |
| What I do know is that Teru has fallen in love with Hina and Kana who clearly loves Teru, it's clear and certain that this will be a love triangle. Well, a good start, the story that is definitely set in the island of Okinawa with their distinctive language accent makes this interesting. Hina and Kana are typical girls with different personalities, but seeing Hina and Kana like that I'm curious about what will happen to the three of them in the future.  |

@Ryssen how diverse/creative are the gags in the source? I loved the segments but I feel like the language barrier topic could get exhausting if one doesn't engage in learning the language
| @Gween_Gween there won't be a big divergence from episode 1 if that's what you're asking. All the jokes are based on cultural or language differences. |

| Man, that was non-stop. I don't know if I'd call it good per se, but I certainly enjoyed every minute of it. Some of my favourite thoughts while I was watching were - The opening shows iconic okinawa things but also moai heads? Not sure if this will be explained or if they just thought the audience would not question it - Everyone is a pleasant shade of golden brown, except it often kind of looks like a sickly green. - The character art style looks like a hentai - The unintelligible okinawa dialect cold opening brings me joy, that japanese people should have to experience watching anime as I do - Did not expect the zombieland saga reference - BULLFIGHTING?! - breakneck pace here - An evangelion reference too? I wonder how many other references I am missing |

I've definitely seen worse from CR but whatever team is doing it, I think their format is pretty spot on. + Honorifics + Uchinaaguchi left untranslated but readable as to reflect the confusion. + Lack of Localization ~ Naming convention is TBD as I don't recall any full name being spoken, I prefer it as spoken; Family(Last) > Given(First). When CR does bad enough, I tend to look for alternative but this release didn't reach that level in the slightest |

| This was very entertaining, his interactions with Hina are pretty funny. The excessive hospitality from everyone there is also pretty funny to watch, he got swamped with food from everyone and also the people because of their names. |

I can confirm, SubsPlease uses the same translation as Crunchyroll, except for a bit around 5:00 which Crunchyroll had subtitles for, but SubsPlease did not. |

| This was not what I was expecting. It feels that the real fmc is Kana and she deserves better. Hopefully mc’s feelings change. As for me he comedy, I didn’t really find it funny tbh |
| I really want to like it... the characters are cute, some of the gags were amusing... but visually the subtitling is a mess with the giant hiragana subs everywhere for the okinawan dialect, and the whole thing feels kinda like a 4-koma tourism board ad :( I think I'm looking for a bit more rom and a bit less com, and I'm not going to find it here. |

| It was a lot of fun watching this episode. I started watching it because of the protagonist who is similar to another girl from a romance anime that I won't mention. Even though I'm not a big fan of love triangles, I hope the anime evolves well. There's a character named Agena that I liked, but I don't think she'll appear much in the anime. Kana or Hina... Hard question. |

| Mmmm, this wasn't bad, but it was really weird, and really boring honestly. The extremely simplistic animation, the art style and colors... this looks like a generic cheap hentai lol For being the 1st episode I already liked Hina way more than Higa, but she knows how to speak proper japanese, yet she prefers to speak with this weird dialect not caring about people not understanding her, that's kinda mean and overly selfish. I don't really like that we had no real introduction, like why the protagonist came to Okinawa in the 1st place, how and why he fell in love with Hina, or why Higa fell in love with him, idk if that will be covered in a future episode, it probably will, but it already hurts this show because we can't really feel anything for characters that aren't properly introduced, or at least I can't, this is a fkng SoL after all, the characters are all that it has. |

Anyway, I think this "embarrassment p0rn" comedy, where they pretend the world is more retarded than it is, just so the MC ends up in the most embarrassing situation possible for comedic effect is kind of wearing down on me. Kana is cute tho, the other, dialect-demon, not so much. |

An explanation that is just a sidebox in the manga is 30 seconds of stillness with a narrator explaning things. While some anime have managed to pull it off correctly, sadly it is not the case with this one. I guess I'll just go read the manga |

| Boring. Also too bright and colorful. Everyone in this anime is somehow too energetic and expressive. Idk maybe Okinawa people are really like that lol. I liked tanned shy gyaru, but loli is annoying. And all others are annoying. Like, what kind of circus happened on the street? Its weird and not funny. And all these jokes about accent... for japanese viewers its probably funny, but im bored |
| Not much story to speak of, more like an advert for Okinawa. I feel like I have learnt cultural facts rather than enjoyed a romcom. It's not the end of the world, but I hope they find a better balance moving forward. |
