For a second I thought Kirishima was eating out Yoshino.

He and Shouma are now face to face. That should be an interesting conversation.

so damn true 😭😭😭😭😭

still so messy. I just wish they were college students instead of high-schoolers. they look and act like adults and don't spend much time in school, so why make them like 17?? a story like this is exactly the kind that wouldn't suffer from its protagonists being 20

You have to remember these high schoolers are a part of the yakuza. They've been exposed to a darker side of life that, of course, they'll be more mature than their peers around them in school. It doesn't sound like you fully grasp the setting of this anime. This anime may sound like a nice romcom with bad boy yakuza guys but it's really a yakuza family using an engagement/wedding as a business transaction to get ahead with some romance (If you can call it that) sprinkled in. I thought the former at first, but after the first episode, I was like, "Oh, this is definitely not a regular romcom," lol

Edit: Also, the fact that they're teenagers helps emphasize the lifestyle they were raised in. You're not wrong about them being older wouldn't hurt but I'm not sure if it would be as "impressive" (for lack of better word) since it would be like "oh yeah, they've been at this for a while." But seeing them as teens being so used to things invokes a sense of dread about what they've seen and been through, you know? 🤔

That was one interesting way to start an episode, lol.

What a way to start an episode! I start to get a liking to this anime, but I wish Kirishima won't behave like an idiot/kid from time to time. In anime this kind of toxic relationship is almost like fresh air, 'since it is easy to become fed-up with so many goody-goody characters after a time. Of course this kind of guy too is pandering to a broad (mostly female) audience, there is nothing new in this hyper-masculin "beast to be tamed" archetype of a male. Anyway I am looking forward to what is to come next.

@Ishitateso

"there is nothing new in this hyper-masculin "beast to be tamed" actually Kirishima is more complex than being just "a beast" and has more psychological issues than just being violent. In my opinion Yoshino has more of a hidden beast inside her and that's what Kirishima saw at the end of episode 1 and in episode 2 and that's why he started to be interested in her again.

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

Wow, I never thought they would have the "balls" or pu**y to have a scene like that in an anime. This guy just gets more unhinged every second. I think I'm going to look forward to seeing how Yoshino wrecks him up in the future.

Honestly it’s mostly all the expositional dialogue that got to me more than Kirishima’s shenanigans… a lot of it was a bit stilted and constant, more than unnatural (some of it wasn’t so bad like when they talked about their grandparents) it’s just not fun or engaging . Nothing to drop over but I’m trying not to pout in advance if later episodes aren’t much different >__>

Kirishima is back at his antics, stalking Yoshino in her sleep. Yet again, I must ask of myself: is my hatred stronger for the borderline rapist male lead you see in Shoujo romances or the blank slate beta bitch male lead you see in Shounen romances? Might have to take Shoujo's side here. At least this guy gets laid.

Motorcycle Man Shouma gets a proper introduction in this episode, thus raising Yoshino's harem count to two. Some good hooks here with him bringing up the possibilities of war between two yakuza families and a hit on Kirishima. Three episode check... passed?

This isn’t shoujo tho? It’s seinen
@Marinate1016 Wait, it's a seinen!? I thought it was a josei instead... what with the wild-natured-ikemen popular with ladies, and brash female lead atypical of most male oriented titles. I mean it's obviously not shoujo, with so many adult themes incorporated in prev EPs, but I really thought at least it was marketed towards females (hence josei)

That’s why yall gotta stop associating demographics with genre. The mangaka is a known shojosei author tho so a lot of work reflects that.

Am I the only one who wishes to see Yoshino explore other possibilities (like choosing Toriashi instead)? I realize this show has only just begun, but I can't shake the desire for Toriashi to be with her, especially since he appears to be the more suitable choice given that her 'fiancé' is currently involved with other women and has done questionable things in previous episodes.

Overral, an exposition heavy episode. It kinda lost me in the second half.

Did the animation get even worse in this episode? The colours are certainly off, not surprising considering the first 2 episodes, but I think the animation was very stiff and reminded me of some of mid 2000s animations in this episode - not in a good way.
Considering it'd be hard for it to get worse style-wise, I hope we're on the improvement plan in some ways ro make it better. The actual story is really interesting, so it'd be a shame if all dialogues from the manga became so robotic due to animation.

Ayo, I didn't expect that kind of scene at the very beginning. ;D

The meeting itself was a little boring. I'm not a fan of character dump scenes, but I know they are necessary sometimes. Some of people who attended the meeting might be given more time to shine later on.

Haha, that ending caught me off-guard. I didn't expect Kishima to be walking there. ;p But on the other hand, earlier we could learn that he already started searching for more info regarding that dude.

Looks like he already has a very close relationship with someone. It's like they're girlfriends with benefits LOL
I feel kinda bad for her, it's hard to sleep with that crap behind/infront/above you.
New (well technically old) guy seems a lot more tame, but also still psycho yakuza. Let's see how this triangle (notice how it's a triangle, further saying that girl is just a close friend) plays out. 4/5, hate the smoking but all these guys are supposed to be degenerates so... sure.

keeping it PG-13 is a crime ..
this show should be R-X crime drama, hentai romance. no need for the cursed comedy.
honestly, it's merely a time waster.

yeah I'm not sure why MAL keeps rating shows that should be R, PG-13. Like I wonder if they have a source for that or just default it. Everywhere I tried to find age ratings had it between the two ratings (15+, 16+) which you should round-up to R (17+) not down to PG13 (13+)

Nah, the way Kirishima was going down on a girl is so wrong. Esp if he likes her so much to the point he wants to marry her. Wtf. I guess it doesn't matter bc she doesn't like him.

But the way he picked her up the floor was pretty cute ngl

Shoma is very cute lol

I'm not sure if I'm following the hierarchy tbh. Why were the guys at the meeting all pissy? Poor gpa just wanted to hangout with everyone but they all got separated due to jealous amongst themselves. I wonder want gpa gave everyone though.

I too hate all the damn smoking. Its such a turn off

When an episode opens on oral sex I know it's my kind of show. Love how toxic it is.
