Oh, so it's not the explosion that will cause the end of humanity? I've been thinking that it doesn't seem enough to cover the whole planet. Maybe these are the invaders from their home country?

First off, no fucking way they still used the Prime Minister as a puppet despite leaving him behind... Their ship deserves to get nuked for trying to cover the whole thing up and leave everyone behind

I knew Oba wasn't going to stop the explosion. There was no way it would work, but wow that still sucks. Did they know someone would try to stop it, so they rigged it to explode if someone put in the password, or was there really like a chance that he could've stopped it...

I was so anxious watching this episode. I was fully expecting the explosion to hit as Ai's brother was talking on the phone since the 15 minute mark hit right there... But you know what I think what actually happened might be worse 💀

Even as the mothership is coming down, and the aliens are just trying to get away from it, the military can't just let them go... They had a chance to get away. Oba managed to get away. They could've made it in time.

And then that huge explosion to close off the episode. How many characters did we just lose? I spotted the teacher, Oran's brother, Futaba, and Makoto 😥 How was Makoto there? I swear he went to his parents place. Did he change his mind and decide to go back to Tokyo instead? That was so fucked. He and Futaba looked so afraid😭😭

And now what? The future that the bowl cute dude saw was wrong, because of Oba? What's going to happen to those red bubbles coming down? They're still scattered around the world aren't they? Is Japan safe? Is time travel still in option? Is the fallout still happening? What is coming in these last two episodes... 😨

Anime of the year is right here for me. I really can't think of another show from this year that has kept me this invested.

I did not expect that explosion to be adapted this way, but it wasn't bad at all.

Holy shit dude what an episode I knew things were gonna starting going to shit after the insanity that was that last episode, but not this rapidly. The third impact.. I mean end of the world is finally here and it was as epic as promised

Kenichi really thought this was his anime, bro you are NOT the MC. Talked all that shit last episode and then didn’t even hear out Oba in this one just to fall off the ship in the end lmao. How can he and his cronies call the invaders evil and they’re willing to sacrifice the entirety of Tokyo to build their new “nation”

The whole first half of the episode with oba was just so epic, they really upped the ante production wise today. I figured he would end up being too late to stop the explosion, but it wasn’t his fault. This situation was destined to happen really as soon as Ontan time jumped. Humanity and the invaders just refused to hear each other out.

The last 8 minutes or so starting with Ontan’s brother’s voicemail to her was peak science fiction, just a BRUTAL end to this episode. “Ontan, I love you. Live on” 😢 the onions.. Seeing the world fall into chaos and people bursting like balloons when they touch those floating bubbles.. they didn’t have to go so hard with the sound design on those! Sounded so real and visceral. RIP Tokyo man holy shit tens of millions gone in an instant. The song during the explosion was also amazing!

AND I KNEW THEY WERE BI 😭 Ontan on her “what if we kissed at the end of the world” shit today I see. One world ends and another one begins, this is where the real story gets going here and I’m so excited to see what comes of it. I’m guessing some time travel shenanigans again will save the day.

Also that is one way to make a lesbian ship be legit....good shit for them on doing it like that. One of them is bi at least but that kiss was.....not only one of love but "I don't know if I'll ever get the chance to do this so here!"

@MasterHavik I actually never got the feeling it was romantic but more like a quirky way Ontan expressed her feelings... But maybe it's just my hatred towards making every relationship romantic talking

Personally I am more than okay, the episode was perfect and beautiful
That scene was great in Japanese too, the translation of "you have to live" was great

@Guilmon1 Yeah I have been watching the dub as it is same day dub...and I can't get enough of this cast. They have done such a good job. I can also see it as Ontan being Ontan with the kiss but it is clear she knows things are changing and she acts out in a brash fashion. Beside most don't kiss someone because they're quriky...it is an easy way to get yourself blackball by friend group. I think they're for real. They were holding hands while watching the mothership crash.

Can anyone explain me what was that hand thing that activated all those bubbles. Was that "God" or something else?

AOTY for me unless they somehow botch the ending. Seems criminal that nobody is watching this, but so glad that it’s telling the whole story and we don’t need to rely on viewership to get more animated. Maybe it’ll become a cult classic or something, but either way, amazing so far.

When I say I was screaming with joy when I saw those "invaders" risk they life in order for Kenichi to be taken down... I was SCREAMING. Ooba, with all his might, tried his hardest to stop the mothership, but unfortunately... it was too late. And it isn't just Japan that's dealing with the mothership anymore. The entire world is dealing with whatever the hell those deadly ass bubbles are.

"Why don't you date Ooba, Ontan"... as we see Ooba and the other "invaders" just be slaughtered... </3.. Sooooo next best thing, YURI ROUTE LOL.


And there it is. The end of humanity... as this HAPPY ASS IDOL MUSIC IS BEING PLAYING XDDDDDDD. Glad to see Ooba MIGHT make it, and ofc, Ontan and Kadode as they're side-by-side <3
