Jesus Christ, Riho was trying hard lol. It looked like she was almost about to kiss Haruto.

Seems this episode decided to go fan service and silly moments again. Food, baths, and Ami's fake mustache is still a recurring gag. Girl talks about Haruto and gossip is still common too.

Lol @ the hostility when it came to sharing the room with Hayato. Glad it ended up being Ami. And looks like our boy is packing some huge ass sushi roll, good for him.

Here I thought an onsen episode would go bonkers with the fanservice, instead we got some mild Ami family drama. Seeing your grandparents and parents suffer from dementia is tough. And taking care of them is equally frustating and draining.

If you thought it was too steamy here you go

Ugh, it almost got to the point where I had to bring out my sunglasses. Nearly went blind here. At this point they may as well just cut the fanservice parts entirely and focus on the comedy drama elements instead. At least those are fairly good.

Moemi's skills certainly are impressive. Though that certainly made her a harsh taskmaster to her peers. That skit of the chef cap though lol. Its good to see Riho be more aggressive with her charm methods. So much for this being a limited exp trip though. The conspiracy of the three though was pretty fun and contrasted well with the expansion of Ami as a character. But the revelation to what happened during Ami's last visit home certainly was a harsh one. I do hope that her gran would be able to remember her at some point.

Damn, I came into this expecting it to be your usual Onsen episode in a romcom filled with fanservice, and while we definitely got some bits of VERY CENSORED fanservice, I left with a heavy heart after learning Ami and her grandmother story.

I need to go to that grocery lottery because they just giving everyone Onsen trip tickets lol. Chiyoda is such a sweetheart for looking out for Tsukishima. Too bad Tsukishima’s flirting tactics on hayato kind of went to waste since all the girls ended up with free tickets lmao. On an aside, I’m happy all the Chiyoda familia girls are debt free and running their own diner!

Had a feel that would end up being Ami’s hometown by how she was acting, but instead of a conflict with her family or something cliche, she just can’t stand the thought of seeing her grandmother suffering from Alzheimer’s. I can really empathise with that. Honestly your loved one getting Alzheimer’s or dementia is probably worse than just dying because it’s like you can reach out and touch em, but they’re just not there. Seeing someone you know and love so much just not remember you is almost torture

Hayato expressing his regret for how he never went to see his grandma before she died and how it’s still eating at him was enough motivation for Ami. Hopefully she’s able to find some sort of peace ❤️

Poor Ami-chan, her grandma is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and she refuses to see her until she gets better. However it is best that Ami sees her grandma anyway as Hayato stated that he never got the chance to see his grandmother before she died. I felt that Ami and Hayato have gotten closer despite the other girls fighting over her.

I really want to give Ami a hug because I know how it feels to have a love one suffering from Alzheimer’s as they get older.

Damn, what started as a silly episode with censored fanservice (hope the blu-ray cuts out the steam but I know S1 was left censored) and most of the girls plotting shenanigans to have 1-on-1 time with Hayato turned into a more serious one with the revelation that Ami's grandma has Alzheimer's which I understand is not only incurable but also fatal. So on that note props that Hayato indirectly encouraged Ami to see her before she passes.

On a more positive/fun side it looks like the shenanigans continue in the hot springs in the next episode. Side note, Riho's reaction to finding out the other girls were also going was hilarious and so was the pic she texted to Ririka.

Reborn as Chiyoda diner, the new girls drop the copycat costumes, opting for a Japanese menu so they won't overlap their market with Familia.
Thanks to Confectionery Seller and by proxy Ririka, Riho can spend some time in the hotspring with Hayato.
Oh, shit, Confectionery Seller prolly rigged the game. The entire café is going now.
Who's going to win the room with Hayato? Three of them have confessed already...and Ouka is the most rational.
I'm getting ever more certain Ami will be the mother in the future.
Damn steam spoiling our views
The three heard the men talk. Will Ami silently reserve the family bath?
Her family owns that inn or live close by? Will he meet her parents now?
Really, at the dinner table?
Ami's mother, aunt, sister?
Ami's grandmother once worked with Sachiko and Ami refuses to go home so as not to face the fact she now has dementia.
Sachiko's cafe inspired the grandmother to open the home where Ami and Eri grew up.
So Hayato and Ami have something in common.
Maybe Hayato could bring the photo with Sachiko and the other grandmothers when they were younger to help her remember?

I had forgotten that Ami was the only one who didn't have any drama or problem that Hayato had helped with, so it's good that she decided to visit her grandmother. However, this doesn't make her my favorite. Besides, they owe us a proper hot springs episode; this one lacked the typical fanservice that this anime usually provides.

PS: If Hayato has it as big as they say, then they can all share it without having to fight, haha. TEAM HAREM

Nice to see the rival cafe girls are all set up once again, and I like how they’ve agreed to help each other out by advertising for one another in both cafes, I also enjoyed the Moemi chef hat bit, she becomes Gordon Ramsey with it on lol. And thanks to Ririka, Riho had the opportunity for alone sexy time with Hayato, but unfortunately they were apparently giving out those hot spring tickets like hot cakes so the whole gang got to go, but let’s be real, that was happening from the start lol. And the hot spring had some great bits, really enjoyed Kiku, Akane and Riho trying to one-up each other in getting close to Hayato, and their reaction to hearing about him being hung was great too lol, it’s just unfortunate the fanservice here was undersold due to the steam censorship, that seems like the kind of censoring that would be removed in the Blurays but I’m not certain that it’s true, still enjoyed what we got tho.

The sad part tho, is that the location of the hot spring is actually Ami’s hometown which revealed some upsetting stuff about her grandmother, who was yet another employee at their cafe many years before, so sad to hear how she’s got Alzheimers, we just had that last season with another show. However, not all is sad, because Hayato restored the goofy Ami we know and love, and she’s actually gonna see her grandma now thanks to him, it’s nice to see but I’m afraid of what the reaction might be, we shall see, hopefully we can get some more fun sexy time to distract us along with it lol.

@FMmatron My Mother died from Dementia during Covid ( double whammy there, now I got twice the PTSD for the price of One.) Lockdown period. Tough doesn't even begin to touch the pain. I don't know how she can be so cheerful all the time. I'd say it was her lack of brains, but I think it's more like denial/trying to cope by being the Life of The Party.

Well, I wasn't expecting some character development for Ami, I liked it, for a moment I thought the episode would take a more sexual turn and the thing about Ami's grandmother took me by complete surprise.

I'm trying to remember, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there are few animes that touch (at least superficially) on Alzheimer's or senile dementia as a problem that can occur.

My condolences. I have personal experience as well. Through my job I more or less learned to deal with it without going crazy, but it will never be easy when it affects the own family. Simple communication can be exhausting when you have to explain the most basic things over and over again and conversation is going in circles. It honestly feels like I talk to a kid in the worst way possible. Well, I also try to smile through it, because I don't see the point feeling miserable over something I can't change. Of course you can feel down or sad, but that shouldn't be a permanent condition. Ami is doing it right.

@Narizor Not even something that could be handwaved as something else for comic misunderstanding, pretty sure in the bath that'd be the only thing that could be compared to a sushi roll.

A kind of bittersweet episode this time with Ami-chan refusing to visit her grandma who has dementia when all of them got free trip to the onsen resort in the same hometown as Ami. The fight to be with Hayato alone at the onsen is funny.

Riho was bold after hesitating so hard. Too bad the won tickets turned out to be multiple and the rooms divided by three, and i correctly guessed that Ami would have sealed the same one with Hayato, exactly because she seems by a long shot the least likely candidate to settle with him.

And suddenly, it took a very dark twist. While, at the same time, Ami herself had a considerable character development arc coming in and making her deeper beyond the usual clown antics. Not gonna lie, this is a better episode than what it seemed at the beginning.

So the former rivals started a slightly different kind of business, wishing there is no a deeper shifty purpose behind.

One good thing about their competition: rebranding themselves in another name, the Chiyoda Diner, so as not to cause conflict.

It's girls like Moemi that have the potential to topple the competition, since she comes from a rather rich cooking background. And Ririka helping Tsukishima plot a secret hot spring date with Hayato, it easily writes on her face that she fancies him a lot, and it's a good opportunity to invite him to the trip. And the timing could not have been better with the rest of the girls out, that Tsukishima can be rather forward with Hayato...if not for the fact that Ouka and Shiraguku also won the same ticket by perchance, taking Familia to the same hot spring place for a company trip. And once they reach there, the plotting starts to see who will join Hayato for the room of 2, and it had to be Ami since it's the safe choice. But having Hayato's nether region be seen as a sushi roll, hah.

However, the hot spring place being in Tohoku, it's clear that Ami has avoided going back home because of certain reasons, much ado about the reserved family bath for 2, which is still a fight between Tsukishima, Shiragiku and Akane, though Ouka couldn't care less about the lewd stuff, and Hayato being annoyed at Ami for her continued hiding, until her foster sister Eri came finding her that her grandmother was her only family since her parents died in an accident. And the same grandmother which couldn't recognize said girl, she had an identity crisis the same as Hayato, but worse.

Yelp, I can see Ami as being akin to Gotoubun no Hanayome's Yotsuba, where the girl with common interests will be Hayato's partner.

These guys have been in their cafe for maybe one full episode this season, and wonder why they're losing to the ripoff Familia... Y'ALL ARE NEVER THERE LOL.

@KANLen09 100% agree. Seeing as Ami is the 'memey' character of this show, much like Yotsuba, I wouldn't be surprised if what happened with her would happen in this show in the end.

Poor Riho got cockblocked. Well it wasn't surprising. 3 idiots plot weird things while Ouka looks in disgust and Hayato just "urusie" comedy gold.
Ami have very similar condition to Hayato but even worse. Switch from comedy to drama was so sudden. Hope Ami comes out of this trip happier.

Anyway hope best girl Riho succeed in her messed up plan next episode.

Ouka’s stuff is sad tbh. And when you think about why she was avoiding meeting her grandma, you gotta feel for her. Being the most cheerful and comic relief character of this series, there are stuffs that would even get her feel down. Though the meeting would be in the next episode:(

By the way, if it wasn’t for the white lines policing the nudity, episode had some damn great fanservice lol. Beeping the trio of Riho, Akane and Shiragiku was for the best in the end too xD

Ami who is so full of optimism in life, could not see that her world of rose colored glasses had to be taken off for reality. It is not easy to see a loved one deteriorate before your eyes and pretend things will get better. It is a sad reality that she must face, accept, and try to endure. It is hard yes, but this is the world Ami must live in. She can remember her grandmother for who she is, was, and always will be. Sadly, her grandmother will never have those memories come back and it is the worst thing to happen to us as we get older.

The censure killed the mood.. ;/ come on its too much! in anime like this and scene like this oppai should be full shown... or don't make full view hidden by white labels.. just make it normal like they are all in water and half of them is shown...

at least that talk about Hayato **** was funny and something bold, but then again with such a bold dialogues more nudity should be shown.. at least make a mist that only covers nipples in a small line..

Too bad Ami situation ruined the scene with family bath :(
Next episode will also be onsen?? lol two times in a row?

Anyway I hope Ami won't win, because it would be the same as in other anime with 5 girls that I watched.
