So they threw Rick in another match that seemingly looked like a David vs. Goliath fight, meaning Rick is the obvious underdog here at first.

This anime pushes Rick to be at his best when motivated with reason so the fight. However, I wish they gave his opponent a better personality. So far, guys that challenged him have been arrogant pricks with huge egos in this show.

It’s pretty interesting that the reason he thinks he’s normal is because of how those crazy senpai of his trained him and he took their goading and insults to be reality ๐Ÿ˜‚
Crazy that he thinks he’s F rank and actually an S, though, you’d think that you’d realize that everyone else is pretty weak in comparison after awhile. That part bugs be a little.
I’m glad we finally have a reason and goal behind why he’s fighting, the first two episodes gave us a feel for the anime, but now it’s time for the story to start progressing. Defeating Alsapiet, huh? I’m looking forward to seeing how he pulls it off!
I really like that he’s essentially proving that simplicity and consistency makes a bigger difference than flashy and reckless magic, too.

Dick riding sibling #1 and #2 back at it ONCE AGAIN with the ossan jokes. They didn't even have the nerve to call him 40, just "40-something" xD

MC won as expected, and the imouto looks like she'll be tolerable from now on. Unlike her prick brother smh.

Interesting that there's a narrating character explaing four cores of power but the first to eight level of magic are still unexplained, and probably too late to explain at this point.

I'm glad to see revive (with some limitation) is possible in this anime, even if it's not common since not all people know about it.

If Rick use special time-space room to train then he shouldn't be angry that people think he's 40s, his real age is probaly even much older LOL

Key framing is good but whoever is animating frames in between needs to go back to drawing school. Even walking animation looks off not to mention more complex frames. Whole episode was meh and stretched to a breaking point. Wasn't all that entertaining but we'll see. One more episode before i make a decision on whether to drop it.

This guy was so delusional he thought Rick deflecting/surviving the hits were coincedence. We now know how Rick got so strong by doing such ridiculous training in such a short time. They kept reviving him and even used space time magic. Wonder how Rick's adventure will go from here and if he'll travel with the party or just Reanette. Btw that oppai jiggle scene with the close focus lol.

I knew somehow I recognized the voice of that loser prince Raster. Ryouhei voiced the crazy dude Hanbee Kikaku in Uramichi Oniisan.
Anyways, looks like Ossan understands now that he's more powerful than others. Wonder what happens now.

Interesting, the anime added some comedic relief that was not in the manga, the part with the boobs talking and the elfs sexual harassment jokes.

Usually they skip off stuff from the manga, it's rare to see them add extra stuff that was not in the manga.

I'm shocked that he actually had that moment of self-realization, hopefully that's going to stick and it won't be another case of a clueless mc who doesn't know their own strength for the rest of the season.

Im glad this episode he finally got the idea that he is actually prertty strong. Ive seen annoying anime where they keep the delusion of weakness the whole way through as a running joke.

Alisa chan oh my goodness the woman you are, she Rhea and Angelica are carrying this.

Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. Raster’s stuck up conceited ass thought that that because he was born with noble status and a large mana pool that’s all he needed. Someone like Rick may not have come from such powerful magic, but what he lacked in mana he made up for in work ethic and it was very satisfying seeing him put Raster in his place. Buddy thought that Rick deflecting and dodging all the attacks was just a coincidence ๐Ÿ˜‚

It was nice to finally learn just how Rick was able to train so much and get so powerful in only two years when he started out so late! Using space and time magic and bringing him back from the verge of death is interesting. Him doubting his own abilities also makes a little more sense now that we know their training methods and mental games they played with him.

Episode was pretty satisfying and addressed a few issues I had like why tf he still thought he was weak and gave us a goal, defeating Alsapiet, etc. plus seeing buddy laid out and having to reconsider his arrogant ass mentality was awesome.

Hopefully next episodes are even better. Rn the waifus are still carrying for me

This episode was to defining factor to keep watching, and i would gladly say im happy with how it ends. Im glad he realized he not weak (super important part), how he got so strong in two years, the reasoning, its passable (ork monk too OP), and there's actually a goal? Im so glad.

What was the point of that guy in the beginning explaining how the power structure works if they were just going to explain it with the guild girl anyway?

Also lol, Raster is delusional thinking all that was pure luck, he probably thinks his 8th-level magic got blown up by luck too. At least his sister seems to have some kind of understanding now

I appreciate that at least one anime with clueless op mc has decided to make him self aware of his own strength, as well as informing other characters/making other character admit that he is strong, instead of dragging the corpse of the joke forever.

The parry and the dungeon boonies animes can only learn from this.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

This episode fell a little flat for me. Rick no-selling the attacks in between exposition dumps wasn't very interesting (aside from the revelation his training was so severe it kept killing him, poor bastard), he wasn't especially passionate in his fight, the comeuppance and defeat weren't as enjoyable for this sibling as his two younger ones.

We now know Rick's ultimate goal, I'm curious if there's a particular reason why it's defeating Alsapiet beyond that's the strongest monster.

Adolf's 4th wall breaking...was kinda goofy, lols.

The boob battle between girls with Reanette and receptionist Alisa, it's...a thing, but the main event is Rick vs. Raster, whom the former follows Reanette's advice to observe the latter being trained by the Senpais of Orichalcum Fist to improve his Four Foundational Faculties, wih magic being the lacking factor and the rest filling in from all the training. Yet, even with all of Raster's high-level magic, Rick still feels like he can face Raster with all of his training used to good effect.

For all of the extraneous effects of Rick being punished both physically and mentally from the training to face Kaiser Alsapiet, the strongest monster there is of existence. But right now, Raster is the enemy Rick must face with Level 8 magic, and his Level 1 Air Shot that has been trained hundreds of times to defeat the latter, it's a predictable outcome that still shows the testament of how far he has come.

Rick's a late bloomer, but he's still a big man with a big heart of a dream.

Rick has three of the four fundamental faculties maxed out, except for his magical reserves, because he started his adventuring career so late. That is interesting. However, if you die countless times while training and are resurrected to continue, being extremely strong must be a worthy reward for such perseverance.

Fortunately, Rick has finally realized that he is strong, although the orc deserves some of the credit.

An okay episode, I appreciate the explanations of the magic system of this world. The world building is quite weak, so I'll take anything at this point. I'm also glad that he actually realizes he's strong, and hopefully, it stays that way. I will continue to watch this for now.

This episode forewent a lot of the previous internal monologue comedy.

For fairly well done, towards the end, combat sequences.

Especially when the instructor, Rastor.
Was firing up a spell, or the overall focus of the camera shot.

To an extent that anything with the lead looked immediately inferior in quality. As they would be frame to frame following each other.

This level of inconsistency is expected in a production of this level.
That relies on the strong source writing and banter between characters.

Seeing this much decent animation.
Across its initial episodes. Has been a pleasant surprise in of itself.

Much better overall bar being held.
Than some similar adventure, comedy, sol, positive vibe shows. In this current year alone.

I'm gonna keep watching this one. Not the best.
But enjoyable for sure.
