| Tatsuya going in to take on an army at a military base is the most Tatsuya thing I've seen. Luckily, he didn't go alone. It looks like they went for a climatic type of fight to deal with this conflict. At least the season finale had its thrilling vibe and the previous episodes were building towards this. Can't feel much for that fight itself since they put so much spotlight on Tatsuya. Oh well, it is what it is. | Time to defeat the big bad Zhou Gongjin On the eve of the thesis competition, Tatsuya receives a report from Fumiya that they have pinpointed Zhou Gongjin's whereabouts. Surprisingly, he is hiding at the Uji Second Supply Base of the National Defense Army. Recognizing that he alone is insufficient to confront a military base, Tatsuya contacts Masaki. Upon hearing that it's a military base, Masaki hesitates briefly but resolves to accompany Tatsuya in fulfilling the duty of the Ten Master Clans. Together, they infiltrate the National Defense Army base where soldiers manipulated by Zhou Gongjin await them. Zhou devised a plan to enlist the Traditionalists in aiding his escape from various factions seeking to eliminate him. Using a form of mind control, possibly through the Evil Eye, Zhou compelled the Traditionalists to unquestioningly obey his commands. Despite their brainwashing, the combined efforts of Shiba Tatsuya, Ichijou Masaki, Kudou Minoru, and members of the Yotsuba Family managed to defeat the Traditionalists at their military base. Zhou, fighting desperately for survival against these formidable opponents, eventually realized his predicament was hopeless. In a final desperate act, he used magic to engulf himself in flames, leaving behind no trace of his body. Please no more of this. Aniplex revive an actual good production of yours, and not this. Oh and 8bit, just stick to animating Slime and Blue Lock, don't push your limits. |

| What the fuck man? The first thing you start an episode with is by telling people how this whole thing around Minoru was actually incest in disguise? This series never beating the allegations lol. Anyway, this whole thing with Zhou, which is kind of really tiring at this point, ended up as predictably as one could imagine. God-kun came and conquered, like usual, except Zhou committed suicide, and Tatsuya didn’t put an end to him by himself. Guess that was the twist. Felt like watching a presentation with special effects but at 2x. This series is like one such thing which really does want.. really really wants people to take itself seriously with their pseudo-intellectual facts about science, technology or this 22nd century(almost) magic, but always fails miserably. Hasn’t improved a bit from the first time I watched this, or from that first season itself. This season, as usual, was a mess, with their pacing and with whatever they were trying to do here. Add animation to the misery. Can only hope they’d stop and not make anymore of this… but can only hope, as this being over-popular for japanese reasons, not getting any more of it is actually not possible. Sequel already coming. |

| The night before the Thesis Competition. Tatsuya receives a report from Fumiya that they have located Gongjin Zhou's whereabouts. He was hiding at the JGDF's 2nd Supply Base in Uji. Tatsuya speculates that he would not have enough offensive power to fight alone at the JGDF's base, so he contacts Masaki. When Masaki hears that they would need to invade an army base to get to him, he hesitates for a moment but decides to accompany Tatsuya to fulfill his responsibilities as a member of the Ten Master Clans. The two invade the army base where soldiers controlled by Gongji Zhou await... and they got defeated by our Godsuya & Masaki easily. & Zhou commits suicide as he got cornered to the level he took such a drastic measure. Really enjoyed this season a lot. See you guys in the sequel. Score 8/10 by me at MAL. Finished on 3rd August 2024 at 23:09 Hrs IST.  Yeah Hoo!! we got sequel Announcement (Movie). Very happy 🎉 |

| These mahouka seasons always go by so quick man 😭 love this franchise so much and I’m just glad we won’t have to wait that long for the Yotsuba Sucession arc, movie announced. That’s all I need to hear, they can take their time cooking it, just letting us know there’s more in the pipeline is good enough. Finale was really good, but that was a CRAZY way to open the episode 💀 Minoru magic being too strong his body ok fairs I can live with that, but him being a product of incest, genetically modified/artificial or not is wild. Miyuki was understandably heartbroken to learn of the effects of incest lmaoo. Zhou’s mind control abilities were wild, he basically had an entire JDSF base as his puppets. The motorcycle fight with Tatsuya and Ichijo was sick, a little dark and hard to follow at some points, but for the most part I loved it. My only issue is the Zhou fight felt kinda underwhelming? Would’ve liked to have seen a little more drawn out battle considering he’s the big bad of this season essentially. I KNEW the Nokura blood needs would come in clutch though, once Zhou realised Tatsuya had his number, he knew it was over. No way he’s gone for good though, he gave that whole spill about existing even without existing and the immortality stuff the naval commander was talking to him about, I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of Zhou. Oh now the Yotsubas realise how valuable Tatsuya is 💀 this banquet is gonna be an awkward ass family reunion. Can’t wait to see it play out. Overall, not my favourite Mahouka storylines this season, but I’m never gonna complain about more of these characters and this world. It’s one of my all time faves and I’ll miss it. |

| So Minoru's an artifically modified child and one from incest too. Miyuki was devastated, wonder why, yeah. Yotsuba succession arc is up next too lol. Tatsuya took care of things but this time not alone and had help from others. The Kuroba twins, Minoru and Masaki. Both of them are strong and it's not bad watching them in action every now and then. Tatsuya and Masaki infiltrating the base in bike was cool as heck. Zhou self destructed, is he really dead? Tatsuya doesn't make mistakes so prolly. The Yotsuba branch family heads accepted Tatsuya for now but with the new year's banquet upcoming this topic is far from over as Tatsuya also got invited this time. Btw Maya in yukata looked pretty. Really enjoyed more onii sama and Miyuki again and knowing what's in the upcoming arc, very excited for the movie. Please release it fast. |

| An artificial being huh. That certainly does explain quite a few things about Minoru. Miyuki's reaction to it was pretty unique. But it spoke to her shock at what will happen if she tried to change their bond. Zhou's core belief is to see everyone besides himself as tools/pawns to be used to stop any and all enemies huh. Masaki and Tatsuya's storming of the base though was awesome. Zhou was never going to be captured alive though. Looks like we'll be seeing a S4 as well. Overall a pretty good finale that managed to end the arc pretty well. |

| Honestly this show was okay for the first couple of seasons but this one was like watching paint dry. I think I finally got tired of it's nonsensical and boring story and annoying characters. 4/10, would not watch another season if you paid me. Utterly forgetable. |

| Miyuki crying coz she realized incest is bad This is a cool episode, Tatsuya-Masaki + Minoru working together, its nice to have some characters that are on par(haha) with Tatsuya. Sadly this season is just way way way too fast that they even just skipped the school/thesis competitions (was it the same in the LN?) I wanna see more of Minoru in action in a hopefully better seasons (if ever) Movie sequel announced! |

| miyuki acting shocked asf as if she wouldn't do that (#procreation) with godsuya everyday if she could lmao... this season's pacing was a bit fast but overall was good. fumiya cuts always cooked this season. zhou reminded me of mahito with his eeriness and creepy final crashout. looking fwd to more mahouka.  |

| Incest, huh. Yikes. The lengths that some magicians would go to create a human weapon. I don't think it matters whether or not they did the deed physically and that Minoru is a test-tube baby, because the fact of the matter remains that the end result is still the same, biologically speaking. Bro-con Miyuki's dreams were probably crushed the moment Tatsuya revealed the ill effects of Minoru's background. Why did they include a Fumiya panty shot when he confronted Zhou? I wonder what that firey magic Zhou did at the end besides self-immolating himself. I doubt it was merely to commit suicide, and that his consciousness is probably floating around somewhere or inside somebody like those parasite dolls. I love ASCA's ED theme, just not the distortion of the instrumentals at the first few seconds. Looks like Minoru and 2nd High school won the thesis competition. Guess 1st High can't always win them all. That does it for this arc, as well as this 3rd season. I heard this was getting a sequel movie, probably about the New Year's Banquet that they teased with the invitation at the end of this episode. I'm looking forward to that...although we in the West will have to wait a bit longer until it comes out on BD/DVD/Streaming after it airs in theaters in Japan. |
| Lmfao Miyuki beeing shocked because incest of all things might be the issue. I have been very pleased with this season but for a 5 ep buildup (even longer counting he pulled the strings back in S1 already) this was a very underwhelming fight. Well, I guess he had no choice when he got cornered. Curious why he seemed to be the most scared of Minoru? I forgot, why do the Yotsubas hate Tatsuya so much? I swear they must be the only family who has a strategic class mage in their ranks and thinks he is useless lol. Looking forward to the movie, it probably means seeing more of Maya. Thats always a good thing. |

| Although it's been a while since I watched the previous seasons, this one felt like the worst so far tbh. Felt like not much was going on, also the ending was really anticlimactic. |

| Final episode! I enjoyed the 3rd season. Tatsuya-kun always cool since the 1st season. Seiyuu Nakamura-san is the best too. (Still my brain can't keep up with the complex scientific stuffs😅) It was also announced the sequel will be a Movie too. Looking forward! |

| tatsuya & ichijo really make for a good team. but that was quite the bombshell tatsuya found out about kyouko & minoru's true relationship & the cause for minoru's seemingly frail disposition. i still dunno if he's really a good guy or has the potential to become a bad guy. |

| I'm a bit unsatisfied with the ending to this season. It probably should have been two episodes. There was a good amount of setup for the movie that was just announced though. |

| Oh boy, Miyuki really shouldn't ask questions when she isn't prepared to get the answer. Apparently ... Minoru is a product of brother-sister incest, which means great power but also great instability uh ... yeah. I could almost see her poor little heart breaking over this news. Then it's time to hunt the bad guy. After a bunch of skirmishes with minor characters and Minoru, it's a 2 vs. 1 and the baddie decides to implode? I'm not 100% sure he's dead as he said he'd be back. Now we get all the big families deciding on the future heir, priming us for the next arc which feels like it's going to be uber backstabbing since successions = politics = power = everyone wants it. |

| They finally defeated Zhou but his suicide is somehow suspicious. Is he really dead? or is he a faker? 🤔 Then I get to see some supporting characters in a 10 sec interval from right to left perspective. It was a nice bit service but not decent enough. 😤 Miyuki begging onii-sama to tell her... 🥲 (that was certainly...) And finally, Tatsuya revealing Minoru's origin as incest... in a scientific way... Still gross nonetheless. Since we didn't get a lot of time nor episodes for this season, UNFORTUNATELY, we didn't get to see some fun behind the scenes like the first season, but the detailed battle in this episode was stunning. Sure enough, I enjoyed it. (9 went down to 7/10 for lack of supporting characters' perspectives) Welp, there's too much happening in this episode, but I did get to see Mayumi for the last time... I guess that's okay, to see her smile back. On the other hand, Miyuki is... 🙀 |

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

at least the characters , at least in slime are interesting compared to the characters in this. All the meetings in this are just jargon in slime I at least understand what they saying even though it can genuinely be summarized in a few lines
| @Cestlavie_ Yeah you can understand what they are saying because they dont say anything of value, as you mentioned it can be summarized in a few lines. To go with the classical meeting criticism, the 90% of the season could have been an email. All slime meetings are the same: characters sitting usually at a table, talking about how cool and awesome rimuru is and how great a place tempest is. Congratulating each other for beeing so great and cool. For the antagonists its always "wha wha our plans failed because of Rimuru he is just too cool and awesome (or someone else of his group like Diablo) but we have different plans it does not matter. Panning shot. Panning shot. Panning shot. Some people claim its world building but its really not at all. Mahouka is just naturally a very different show, meetings happen because its realistic to do so. The families and groups interact very formaly after all. They always give crucial information. And honestly there were not that many meetings here and they were always short and to the point. In a show where you have international affairs and domestic politics combined with internal family plans I would say meetings are actually world building. I really dont see how you can even compare these two. |

| It has been several years since I read the LN and watching this anime again felt like going through a summary of the events. The adaptation likely skipped over 50% of the content in the LN and just focused on some key parts. As is the case for most LN adaptations, the anime only viewers are missing out on a large part of world building, details on family politics and drama. But I personally enjoyed this season regardless. Always love watching some Onii-sama greatness lmao. |
