Wow I think that was the most depressing episode of anime I've ever watched, that made me very uncomfortable.
The crying at the end was very emotionally raw though, which was good.

Holy shit. This episode was peak drama. I loved every second of it. But now that just makes me wonder, what'll the next 11 episodes be about?

i know i said that it was weird that satou wasn't depressed or suicidal after being a NEET for so long but i didn't want to see it go down like this. everything happened all of a sudden, i won't talk about the others but it was like satou just suddenly felt like killing himself just because he got a chance. moments before he was getting amused at the whole situation and his pathetic state and next he just wants to jump off? it was so fucking childish of him, he didn't even think once before taking that decision when just some minutes or hours ago he said he didn't wanna die. i guess we can call it an impulse and leave it off at that.

i dunno if that boat guy should really marry senpai, she's unstable af and her brain doesn't work as it should, i know she's been seeking help but lets just say it isn't working. firstly we need to eradicate the "iinbo" thing from her mind. everything is a conspiracy for her.

misaki's speech seems like an indication to that we might get to finally know about her.

and i read some posts and people are saying this episode was depressing af? like how? i don't see how it was very depressing. it was just a little sad and that's all.

Why are these people so fickle? Literally one bad thing happened in there lives, albeit some were worse than others, and then they just decided that the only way to solve it was to kill themselves. Like that kid couldn't even think of another way out of his situation? What the hell? Then these people are told one good thing and then they realize oh, my situation isn't as bad as i thought huh. That just means that their resolve wasn't even big enough to kill themselves anyway, but that was still the first solution that they thought of? And then I just don't even understand Satou at all in this episode. In the beginning he didn't want to just throw his life away, and then in the end he's the only person who does. This episode just irked me.

I loved this episode

it showed that satou actually realizing that he has less reasons to live than these other people and that his excitement to live a new life with hitomi actually spurred them to live on, while they ironically did the opposite to him

then realizing how little conviction they had in dying and also how misaki told him she wants him alive for her own selfish gross reason to feel better about herself bc she found someone more horrible than she is. all self justification. Yamasaki telling him that he is not worthy of a dramatic grand death like falling off a cliff bc he is not cool

i hate misaki chan and its interesting that ppl love misaki chan and hate satou. its like the call is coming from inside the house lmfao.

anyway i love how this anime displays the different ways degeneracy, delusion, and incel behavior can manifest in people

This episode really put Satou's circumstances into a rearranged perspective for me: it really feels like he doesn't have a single person who genuinely cares for him. The people seemingly close to him are merely using him to make life more convenient or feel better about themselves. Hitomi has always turned to Satou as a final option when no one else was there for her. The way Misaki spoke about him in this episode would have made me jump out of sheer spite if I were in his place. Even Yamazaki is just projecting with that "people like us don't deserve a dramatic death". I'm honestly at a loss for words to describe the feeling this realization evoked in me – all I can say is that it's exactly the kind I was hoping to experience when I decided to start watching this anime.

On the other side of the happiness spectrum, "as long as you're alive, you can start over" is a really good piece of both hope and advice that is definitely going to stick with me. It emphasizes the fact that change is not something that can be rushed and that small steps will go a long way on a scale as large as life.

What a lot of people don't realize is that Satō was not „not suicidal” but it was just never triggered inside him, and at that moment the realization snapped in him that he is worthless anyways. Relatable as frick.

Wow that was an impressive episode. It went by really fast with how much happened. It was really dark and quiet heavy compared to the tone of the show up till now. If you think about Satou might have saved all there lives, since he was there. They might have just done everything sooner if he wasn't there as they wouldn't have done the fire or maybe felt more depressed and more willing to commit. I really liked at the end where everyone has a reason to live then we get the Misaki and Kaoru giving Satou there words to help him off the edge. Now that everything is out in the open I am very interested on how things go forward, since we are half way through. I am guessing we don't have anything as emotionally sad as this going forward unless there is some character death.

Wow.. This was definitely a heavy episode. All were about to end their lives, but it was at the final second in which they just looked the other way. They couldn't get themselves to do it in the end since they've realized that suicide is the decision made if one isn't open-minded. Also, Hitomi finally proposed to his boyfriend, who came with Yamazaki and Misaki, to stop the suicide party. (Though the proposal made Satou suddenly become the only suicidal one...)

Interesting to see Misaki suddenly says that she needs him because she found someone she believes is even more worthless to her, which makes Satou even more disappointed. (Definitly got disappointed, I was liking her... though, maybe there could be a reason why she said that?) Still, at least Yamazaki was the Chad who would stop Satou from killing himself. With that said, when he slipped, I had a minor heart attack. I was like, "OY!!"

But in the end, we see Satou crying, not just because he slipped and almost died, but because he realized that what he was about to do was such a dumb act, and his life would have ended if he had jumped on purpose. The episode definitely shows that there are people out there who, unfortunately, believe suicide is the way to go when at their lowest low.

Bro is killing himself because he got kicked out of school?

Also, there is a literal child...why did they let me join? The fact that everyone was thanking Sato for helping them have a good last day was fucking hilarious.

Hitomi has always been insane. Like all of this could've been avoided if she just waited for her bf, she's such a loser and a piece of shit for letting Sato join.

Idk this was funny as fuck. I'm currently in ribcage pain so laughing hurts so much, but fuck, this was hilarious. Sato almost killed himself because Hitomi is getting married. Sad that the only way Hitomi's bf could prevent her from killing herself was by asking her to marry him. How does that make sense? Then right before that she was literally dragging Sato to khs with her by force. She's such a selfish piece of shit fr.

Then Misaki was like you're pathetic as fuck worse than a stray dog, bro what?? Thankfully Yamazaki sort of helped.

Good thing they went to the cliff because it basically made everyone reconsider.

I DEADASS LOST IT WHEN MISAKI EXPLAINED WHY SHE NEEDS SATOU SHES SO REAL

There is no way this ep was made unironically, there is no way they thought "damn we nailed those sensitive topics". No way. It has to be a satire way to show how cults make people turn into dramatic mfs or something.

Noticable things were that Satou got influenced by them and agreed to suicide very easily, Satou is a source of validation for Misaki, knowing she isn't the worst, and senpai's bf deserves better.

This is the most important episode I've ever seen in a long time. If anyone is struggling, just know that it's never too late, people would love you and miss you and you have far too much to give up on.

Just remember to breathe.

This episode shocked me, I honestly haven't seen something like this in a while but my god this was both an emotionally intense and strong episode. I wonder where the series will go from here but I am still shocked by how revealing this episode was for Satou as a character.

I was right about this not playing out in a logical way
it would be a literal waste of time at this to even say why this shit was so dumb
just some fucking poser shit
"yeah dude we decided to meet up at this island to hangout before killing ourselves as a group for a bunch of nothing problems and we also agreed to let this kid come along. oh? what was that? are you telling me to not do it? WOW now that you put it like that I no longer wish to jump off of this cliff. yup, just like that I came to the conclusion that everything is A-OK"
I'm not gonna sit here and say everything so far in the show has been dumb but for the most part the people I imagine who get any value out of this show are people who don't have any of these problems and not someone like me who's basically living through it
anyways...

Holy shit. That scream... was so... raw. Made me really just sit there for a minute or two.
The change to the opening also really threw me off-guard... taking out the trumpet reveals just how much of an important part it is in the song.
