MF Ghost Episode 7 Discussion

Again with nothing much happen until the next episode Kanata seem to make a risky move.

the camera movement and angles during the races are so good. sound of the ferrari's engine while it was overtaking was satisfying as hell. kanata has some difficulty but still makes it look cool. i forgot all about the dude who's only in 17 year olds lol that and some fanservice this episode. the real fanservice is the eurobeat though.

I don't feel anything at all from the races within a race.

My heart rate was working off the residue from my gym workout, MF Ghost didn't increase it at all despite how many times characters say again and again how they have "goose bumps".

It's flat out boring, almost comical, like watching a small child playing with toy cars or Scalextric while making exaggerated engine and tyre noises.

There are these weird points in episodes where the racing animation looks rushed, like the chase scenes in the Mad Max series of movies, the footage sped up.

We finally got to see what this anime is really about though from that last year 4th placed chap, it's all about the number 17! (wink wink) This is a love note to all lovers of barely legal.

As for the cars, I'm sorry to say but seeing Porsches and Ferraris doesn't interest me in the slightest, it's amazingly boring and depressing to see how far "supercars" have fallen. Chintzy, plasticky mass produced models. I feel nothing special when I look at them, they're obscenely boring and lacking in passion.

I'd much rather the anime starred some domestic Japanese chintzy, plasticky mass produced models. At least then you could have some fun with modifying a piece of low ticket priced crap to make it as good (or better, which wouldn't be difficult) than those so called "supercars".

We've all seen videos on Youtube of Ford Mustangs, Toyota Supras and Volvo 200 Series, etc, smoking the latest Lamborghinis.

I'd argue that true street vehicles look better, those Porsches... with a Porsche decal emblazoned on the hood... the height of tackiness and lack of class!

The drones following the cars looks stupid, I'm sure you'll all agree with this at the very least.

Speaking of the Nissan GT-R, 1 or even 2 laps in: "Oh nooooo, my front tyres are almost completely worn out, Dang it! these cars are sooooo front heavy!" F***ing PLEASE!!!

Man really want that kiss from Number Seven... Hmmmm, she's 17 years old isn't she? Ah well. :)

Yes mechanic-san, the car YOU provided should have more power than when it left the factory.

I started this series with high expectations (Initial D is one of my all time favourites) and it keeps not delivering. Nothing is happening except completely uninteresting and inconsequential overtakes between characters I don't care about in cars I don't like. Degenerate fanservice nobody asked for is taking up upwards of 1/4 of each episode. And to bring attention to the elephant in the room, we are on episode 7 and we still haven't gotten a single Eurobeat track that can stay in your head for 2 second after it stops playing. I am literally overdosing on copium over here still watching and believing I will get anything remotely tickling that Initial D itch.
