Even though Fate feels like he is inferior, he's got balls to draw out his plan. I wish Roxy got treated better though and she should've remained with him.
Meanwhile, Fate meets an old friend from the past. Compared to the previous episode, this was one was more tense and had higher stakes.
Fate confronts Hado Vlerick, pushing the limits of the borrowed power. Meanwhile, Roxy arrives in Aglia, stepping into her father's shoes. Fate soon follows, but on his journey, he encounters past tormentors in dire need of his assistance
Hado really messed with the wrong person. That arrogant Holy Knight? Laughable. That guy got reduced to a mere stump, it's hilarious. The only redeeming quality of that scoundrel was meeting his end. Now Greed's sporting a flashy new form. So, this village Fate used to call home is downright awful. Set might have transformed from the troublesome kid he once was, but I suppose he's the exception.
Are they seriously planning to offer up Fate as a sacrifice to those monsters?
Why the pace so slow, I'm just watching for few minutes then suddenly its end like nothing happens, just like previous episode where's use 1 long ass eps just to show romance date
One trash taken cared of, few more to go. New blue hair girl good or bad? Got some info on Fate's skill and the sword. One of the mortal sin weapon, so there are other skills or weapons from the sins too I assume.
Fate going off on his own now that Roxy has been assigned to the same faraway post that her father had when he died. Roxy must go off to Galia to try and subdue this enemy that claimed her father and has been at war with the kingdom. I'm sad that Fate isn't going to be spending his time with the Hart family since he seemed really happy there and everyone liked him. But we must all move on as life changes around us. Fate did a great job taking out one of the corrupt holy Knights that had been tormenting him a few episodes ago. Good old fashioned revenge tastes so sweet, Fate relished in the opportunity to kill that asshole. Using his stats to upgrade Greed into a badass scythe, I love this new transformation and can't wait to see Fate using it in battle. Passing through and seeing an old bully whom helped drive Fate out of his hometown after his dad died. Fate taking absolute mercy on this guy and Greed explaining this is a good chance to satiate his gluttony skill. Fate sees this old bully has changed but not his awful dad. The village chief still wanting Fate dead, enough to drug him with candy. Fate better wake up quick to fight these flying monsters attacking his hometown.
@Dukino Nah, I want Fate to stay asleep for a while so that the Village can take some losses first. That will show Chief and the villagers how dangerous the monsters. THEN when Fate wakes up and easily cleans up the monsters, the village will realize they could have suffered less loss if Chief hadn't drugged Fate. That way the village will remove Chief from his position.
Is this stupid one-way telepathy ever explained? Why only he is able to hear the sword, but sword can't hear his thoughts. Also, can we not hear the sword? I'd love to see things actually happening and not being told by the inanimate object... and when I say inanimate, I really think non-animated object. Dear lord. Can they make fewer frames?
Also, about this episode, what the hell is the plot of giving your kid poison candy to give to someone else??? Does this make sense to anyone?
killing the knights was probably not the best idea, feels a little overboard. this anime so far is starting to feel more and more mediocre, and i'm not really sure what direction it's going in.

@LucenProject I would be guessing the Fate would take care of the monsters but also take advantage of the fight and confusion to kill those guys that kicked him out of the village, and make it seem like the monsters did it.
I love this shit so much, I can't even explain why. It's just straight enjoyable garbage. Great to see Fate destroy the Holy Knight and not let him live, well he coulnd't because he was his face. Meanwhile Roxy went to Galia already and he is planning to support her. But, it seems like a side quest appeared from his old buddy. Yeah, that village leader is fucking smart to destroy his last chance for survival.
“You yourself have to change first, or nothing will change for you!”

Yes! The misunderstanding because he was talking to the sword felt overdone by episode 3, and kids love candy. It a very really risk of drugging your granddaughter.
Kinda disappointing that there wasn't huge massacre at the beginning of the episode. Well, at least he did the number on that holy knight. Though, not brutal enough for my taste. Like how Greed can take different shapes of weapons. That's unfortunately, the coolest thing about this anime. Five episodes, expected way more from this show.
That revenge scene on the holy knight was so edgy but I like it. He definitely deserved it. Great episode, got a taste of just how frightening Fate can be when he’s pissed off. Messing with him is one thing, but coming after Roxy is another.
Seeing his backstory was really sad. He and Roxy both have something in common. They had great dads and were both shunned after their deaths. Set’s dad is a POS and honestly he should get merked, probably won’t happen because of redemption and all that, but banning set from the village and then being an asshole when he comes back to help, then drugging him? Fuck him.
Poor Fate tries to help out his village he resents and the absolute idiot of a Village Chief that exiled him ends up getting him drugged to try and sacrifice for nothing at the worst time.
at least the son learned that his father wasn't really all that, but seriously, the village chief needs to be the one sacrificed to the monsters! but that was satisfying what happened to hado. i mean, he had it coming right from the beginning; fate just made his demise a whole lot...well, a lot more painful instead of less lol
Does Roxy traveling to Galia mean less screen time for here. If so, how sad.
Felt good when Fate slayed that holy night, but then he's quickly back at being treated like crap. I know he needs to satiate gluttony, but that village does not deserve saving.
Also, what's up with the kid having the drugged up candy. If she wasn't told to give it to fate, how would the old man know she would give it to him instead of eating it herself.
Fate vs. Hado Vlerick, it wasn't even close. I'm curious about the fallout once the Vlerick siblings learn that their brother was killed. But for now Fate needs to wake up to at least save himself and anyone he cares to. Set's father is very dumb for not even giving Fate a chance to show what he can do and the village will end up suffering for that.
Also, I'm relieved to know that Fate is tailing Roxy as I think she's running into a death trap.
I enjoyed the revenge, but the amount of illogical nonsense just makes this near unwatchable. I don't know if it's explained in the light novel or the light novel does it better, but the characters in the anime just...look like idiots.
First of all, as much as I enjoyed Fate beating up Hado, he was already winning the fight. So why in the Golden Throne did he randomly decide to sacrifice his stats to shoot those overpowered arrows when there was no need to? In the end, it didn't matter because he gave up all the stats to unlock Greed's third form anyway, but he had no way of knowing that, so it just felt dumb and unnecessary.
Secondly, the third form is a scythe that "cuts through anything, including phenomenon." Then what does the sword form do? Does it not cut as well? Apparently,
the scythe cuts magic as well,
but my point is that the scythe has that ability and can cut, so what's the point of the sword form? It's like there's no reason to use the sword version at all.
Thirdly, why is everyone calling him a monster? "Oh, there's this guy going around killing goblins...he must be a monster! Let's send people to subjugate him instead of you know, investigating, reaching out to him and confirming if he's human!" The guy is using sword and magic arrows to kill monsters, isn't it obvious he's a warrior or something similar to a holy knight or whatever? Why the weird conclusion that he must be a monster and therefore should be subjugated? For the Emperor's sake, he's doing everybody a bloody favor!
Fourthly, he cut off Hado's limbs and was interrogating him, which was cool...until he asked the actual questions. Turns out he was only asking about Roxy going to Galia, something he already knew about. Learned nothing new. Wait, what about the kidnappings? The whole business behind the abduction of children for experiments, and the Vlerick being behind that? You had a chance to interrogate Hado, but you just asked about something you already knew about, and not the important questions? Or did he ask them in the light novel and Hado didn't know anything, so they decided to cut out the whole thing?
Fifthly, turns out his dad is a sentry who protected the village from monsters. You'd think they would be grateful to him and look after his son in return, even if he's a grain guzzler or whatever. Okay, he's a drain on the resources, but his dad protected your village from the monsters, and when he died, the first thing you do is exile his son? This is beyond trashy behavior, it's just a bullied loser's wet dream, as GakutoDeathGlare pointed out. "Oh, everybody bullied me in the past for no reason other than I eat a lot, now's my chance to get back at them."
Sixthly, the village is under attack by monsters, and the chief decides to drug the one warrior with a weapon who shows up, just to use him as "bait." Wouldn't he serve better as bait if he's awake and fighting the monsters - that will buy time for the villagers to escape. What does putting him to sleep achieve? You're going to put his sleeping body in the open for the gargoyles to eat or what? What's going to stop the rest of the monsters from attacking the village? And wouldn't Fate being awake and fighting the monster buy you more time than if he's alseep and being eaten? What retarded logic is this?
Seventhly, the way the chief drugs Fate is by giving the candy to his granddaughter. How does he know his granddaughter will give the candy to Fate instead of eating it herself?
Honestly, it doesn't feel like a lot of thought has been put into writing the story and fleshing out the characters. People are just acting evil for evil's sake, and their behavior is downright illogical.
Update: So I went and quickly skimmed through the manga adaptation, and
the whole drugging and sleeping thing never happened, apparently. No wonder it felt so illogical, contrived and nonsensical. It never happened in the original story. The village chief and every other villager died off-screen (revenge p*rn because they bullied Fate in the past and tried to use him as a sacrifice, and therefore are "punished" for it), and just as expected, Fate kills all the gargoyles using the scythe form, gains stats, and Set and his daughter are the only survivors of the village (what the f?), and they decide to move to the town for a new job and new life. I guess they decided to add the sleep-drugged scene to explain why Fate apparently left a whole village to die at the claws and fireballs of the gargoyles while only Set and his daughter survived. He was asleep the whole time! That explains everything, except the strange and convenient reason why the gargoyle decides to attack every other villager and burn down every other house except Set's.
The manga seems pretty rushed too, and glosses over the details. It makes me wonder if the light novel is as bad, or the adaptations decide to cut out a lot for no reason.

Have you actually watched the episodes?? Because every of your complains and question are easily answered by watching the episodes

Feels overboard? That dude let other kidnap little children to play sadistic games with them
Fate seeking vengeance on the Holy Knight didnt seem like a smart move. He already knows what he kills effects him. What if this means he eventually is made to kill all the Holy Knights including Roxy? It was a fight he probably could have avoided or he could have just injured him not blew off all his limbs then stab him in the heart.
What kind of bullshit is from Set's dad? What was he thinking?
Satisfying beatdown but too much overused of power—he wasted a lot of stats... lol
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.
If I were Fate I'd gluttony the whole village after the gargoyles (well, except for the father and daughter ofc). After being the only one to come help, I'm furious that he is still being treated like that. His dad even sacrificed himself for the village in the past as well. Ungrateful PoS's.
damn i didn't think he had it in him but fate really is that mf. I thought he was stupid for taking off his mask, but it all makes sense. He wanted that mf to know who slaughtered him lmao shi ain't sweet.
I'm not too concerned about what happened at the end, if it comes down to it greed can probably wake him up somehow
Fate once lived in a village with his father, who was a warrior. Fate's early life was marked by misfortune, as his father's duties often kept him away. Tragically, his father's life was cut short after some battles, leaving Fate without a home and a sense of belonging.
These pieces from Fate's past turn him into place when he follows Roxy on her journey to Galia. The writer skillfully weaves these old-fashioned storytelling techniques to develop a new base for what lies ahead. It's the author's talent in creating a rich backstory that adds depth to the narrative.
As we delve deeper into Fate's history, we cannot help but dive into the world of fanfiction speculation. It's a storytelling technique that not only provides context but also stirs our curiosity about the future. This journey into Fate's past adds some meaningful to the present story. I love these stories because they give me foundation for my fanfictions.
The Vlerick family sure did not expect Fate facading as Corpse to deal with them, though Fate has the power to do so to rival with them.
No matter what Hado has going for him, Fate chooses to go ham as per Greed's advice, and both intimidated and stole his power, not as revenge for Roxy that she's sent to Galia, the Land of Death, this is for himself. The Holy Sword Technique power being used to reveal Greed's Level 2 power, a scythe is all the more effective. As Roxy makes the fateful trip to Galia, he decides to forge his own path supporting her from the sidelines, heading to Galia as well.
Miria joining Roxy, and Mugan as well from once being in Roxy's father Mason's army, he lent his knowledge in the hopes that they're able to uncover things in Galia. Apparently, Greed is a Weapon of Mortal Sin, as Fate descends back into Tetra, only to find his one of his bullies of Set, from the villlage that he was once exiled from, the chief village's son requests his help, and drags him back to the land of where his father's grave still stood. But Set is a changed man thanks to his wife and daughter, though he lost his wife to monsters, types where the village has not dealt with before: gargoyles.
To be drugged by a candy while monsters come attacking, would Fate awaken just in time?
Since it now means the "Corpse Lich" is a national danger as he's stronger than a Holy Knight, I wonder what the Holy Knights will do now.
Which is also funny, cause Fate decide to follow after Roxy, so the Holy Knights will be searching for naught in the Goblin Fields, lol.
.
Well, Fate's back to 1 stat again, and now getting a Scythe that can cut through anything... not like his sword already cuts through most things... as shown in the battle between Fate and Hado.
Tho I was kinda surprised that Greed's Bow form... can have ANOTHER form within it... as a sort of Sniper Bow.
Which makes me wonder, will the Sword and Scythe also get additional forms? Maybe the one-hand sword can turn into a Great Sword? LOL
Tho I have no idea what other weapons associate with Scythe... since Scythe is a pretty unique weapon.

@amlg There's no consequence. Apparently, the Holy Knights don't care if Fate kills Hado, nobody pursues him or arrests him for it, and
it's not mentioned until the very end, where Rafale thanks Fate for killing his brother (because he used his corpse for some alchemy BS).
Fate confronts Hado Vlerick, pushing the limits of the borrowed power. Meanwhile, Roxy arrives in Aglia, stepping into her father's shoes. Fate soon follows, but on his journey, he encounters past tormentors in dire need of his assistance
