A much more intense competition than before. There's a skill gap between the teams and Shun's squad is the underdog. But hey, it took them 4 episodes to get organized.

The gameplay remains the same more or less, not really expecting anything creative at this point. There's still a lot of team work involved to succeed or even make the break. Kinda impressed how much Shun's team improved though.

Why is his mom being like that...Most normal parents would be happy when their kid wins something, let alone your kid who quit his only passion just to help you pay bills is finally starting to maybe go back to normal

It seems to be hinting to some connection between gaming and his father and sisters accident so we’ll have to wait and see

The mom not being in support of gaming because their father was a gamer that died and caused his sister to be disabled is really restricting his abilities to grow and do something that he loves. Sad to see that it’s not just the dad’s death holding him back.

Probably cuz he's not in a normal family lol. We kinda have to think psychologically about it. The "gaming" aspect is an emotionally trigger. If you read the vibe of the scene, there's possibly a backstory that we need to learn about Shun's father and how his death correlates with gaming and whatnot. You notice she tells Shun's sister to turn off that gameplay stuff because it's triggering her and bringing bad memories to mind. I thought it made sense she's being like that, yet at the same time, she could have apologized and been polite about it like, "I'm sorry, but I don't want to hear anything about gaming right now. Please turn that off " but that would be too ideal. There's some trauma lingering in Shun's mother that has been swept under the rug for many years probably and this passive-aggressiveness happens alot, even among families that I know. The conflict and drama that needs backstory explanation is one of the things that keeps this anime interesting... at least for me lol.

Meanwhile, I noticed while watching Ep 4 that I really don't give a shit about the video game graphics, especially since this is an anime that was originally produced for TV Asahi's target audience in Japan. I'm glad there's still devoted fansub groups that put this stuff online for people all over the world.

Rox is a good dude, seemed like he was naked in his gaming room LOL. But it's clear that Shun has earned Rox's respect as an FPS competitor. Regardless of the graphics, this anime made me wanna play Team Demolition again in the FPS games I have on my phone lol - Team Deathmatch is what I really enjoy though. Just 5v5 team deathmatch, always good fun. I think this episode just educates the Japanese audience on what Team Demolition is about when it comes to FPS games, especially for those gamers who don't normally play that genre.

  • We finally see the game battles in this episode. Though almost all the audience of the show has been complaining about the low quality of the game shots, it never changes. It's because if you introduce high quality graphics of modern games, it surpasses the reality of the show and make the audience confused.
  • It's pointless to throw two grenades at the same place at the same time.

By "all the audience" I assume that you're referring to those outside Japan, especially MAL users that have been complaining about the game's graphics in previous threads. I hardly think that the general target audience in Japan really even cares about gaming graphics implemented within the animation. They would probably be like このアニメの中でXaxxerionっていうゲームのグラフィックは、ぜんぜん関係ないけど like it don't really matter, since that's kinda how I see it. But I definitely see your point of how it could confuse the audience if modern gaming's graphic quality surpasses the reality of this show by being mixed in with the animation. I can also imagine those who would disagree and assert that some viewers would not get confused.

I totally agree with the pointlessness of two grenades at the same time because that play just felt redundant. It's a waste when merely one grenade should suffice. I'd understand if it was accidental, but it was decided that they throw a grenade at the same time at the same spot, just seemed like low battle IQ for FPS.

I feel bad for Jonathan. He was playing for a corrupt and incompetent manager who was using the team to pay off his own debts while underpaying the team members. Jonathan was right to stand up for himself and leave.

I'm only watching this to see the story unfolds instead of the matches or Esport themselves, to see what the f actually happened with Shun's family and the thing with the game.

One thing we do know that they're having an accident which also paralyzed Mio, but I have 0 clue and can't predict why his Mother agitated whenever she heard the word "Game".

Other than that, the match itself is pretty frickin' uninspiring and low budget. I'm still shaking my head why they didn't just made an actual Valorant Esport anime since Valorant itself is popular in Japan, it could even boost reach even more, I'm 100% sure that Riot is easy to negotiate when it comes to this, it could also teach people the basics and mechanics of the game.

Though seeing this anime always makes me think that we MIGHT get another anime involving Esports with actual games in the near future, this anime might be just testing the water, I would kill for an anime that revolves around CS2, pretty sure Valve wouldn't mind also discussing things.

Somehow I'm enjoying this work, it's that type of anime without any depth that is good to watch.

First to 7 rounds wins a.k.a. MR6, but the first half is 5 rounds. And then, defenders and attackers changed side. Oh my, when I thought everything is already hilariously bad, they've managed to make it even worse. Lmao dropped this e-shit anime. Totally hopeless.

The favourites lost to the entirely new group as they cant figure out non-professional game patters, that's hilarious but it could theoretically happen irl

The ex-team Fox One player helming as Sleeping Fox's leader since the popular Kaizo is out on last notice, it's up to the amateurs to bring him down his high heels.

The Xaxxerion champonship playoffs start with Shun's team dividing their efforts to attack strategically, as the fans of Seshiru and Emiko are spectators in this team demolition game, the first to a score of 7 wins. With Persuader a.k.a Rox, Shun takes a different approach, though the enemy is just routing them at this point with losses racking up to 5-0 by the first half. But as much as Nozomi's dad isn't helping as team leader, Shun and Akito lament that if they had Explosion-kun around, they would be invicible.

With the 2nd half, Yu starts acting like Explosion-kun, hemorrhaging at their offense play and keeping each other tight to start turning the tides around with their teamwork. The game mechanics aren't groundbreaking as usual, but efforts for trying to make it realistic. As it turns out, being amateurs do have unpredictable skills too, and Yu is leading the charge as Team Fox One goes into Match Point, eventually winning the entire game. Jonathan may have underestimated the newly formed team, and Rox a.k.a Naito Mutsuki compliments Shun for his play. Nozomi's dad jumps the gun by announcing a league where amateur teams can go pro, it's a great opportunity, but to Shun, having Mio watch his game only meant that his mother worried all the more because of the bad influence on the family from before.

Shun is on Naito's radar now, what secrets do they hold?

the naked ass... on the gaming chair...
i don't want to believe his mom is gonna blame his father's death on him gaming, but if this anime was something in these four episodes it was predictable. );

EP 4

They're setting up the dude as like some kind of rival for shun, though who knows. He's definitely quite uh, interested now, so. Our team only barely managed to win 7-5 after being down 5-0, there's a decent chance that the opponents will up their game and knock them out next ep.

Seems like Yu finally got a confirmation that those three were the ones she played with as Bakuretsu-kun. She takes the lead and the team wins against the favourite team.

3 of them are totally in for another pro league but Shun is considering and Nozomi hasn’t affirmed yet.
