Lol, the gimmicks in this show has no bounds.

Out of all the cast this episode, Yuu caught my attention the most. Not much has changed about the competitive E Sports scene though. I wish they put more creativity into the actual games but it is what it is. But seriously, Yuu was most entertaining part of the episode.

Yassss, I feel like Yuu made this series way more interesting for me. It's hilarious that she has to vent all her energy into gaming because eSports would be bad for her public image. We can also sense a bit of her jealousy towards Nozomi aka 656. I find it amusing that Shun hasn't even realized he already met Explosion-kun.

The names have finally been confirmed. Akito will be Zane but two-syllable pronunciation ザネ za-ne which is how announcers will pronounce it per application, which felt to him like Japanese bad luck because its pronunciation is similar to "zannen" 残念(ざんねん) which can translate to English as "unfortunate" or "too bad" or "bad luck". That's super zannen.. he should've keyed it in himself, that way if it was messed up, it would be his own keying error.

Meanwhile, Ryuusei is Daneko, which he won't mind as long as its thought of as kawaii lol... dude perked up quick after initially refusing that name. My wife thought it was hilarious when Akito commented about how Ryuusei cheered up fast when Nozomi and Yuu thought Daneko would be a cute name. If not for that, he'd refuse to accept that name. Yuu has a chuunibyou moment and decides her name would be Phantom Ninja.

I'm ready for Team Fox One versus Sleeping Owl. I'm curious about the curry dude, ROX. All in all, I'm just glad that Yuu is finally getting more screen time in this anime, since her gamer personality is so serious and such a humorous contrast to her actress persona.

the esport aspect of this show is very... unrealistic ig... like when the former player left the team just like that and joined another team. In cases like this, there's supposed to be a contract for the player no ? like they can't just drop like that (as in there would be penalties for the player for breaking the contract from quitting). The owner could as well arrange a transfer to cover some of the debts or whatever it was. Also, trying to compete with a newly established team is..... :/ even if there are weak teams, logically they should be more prepared at the least in term of teamwork and stuff and even if they passed, they'd just get weeded out by the stronger team later on since they are aiming for champion....

Though the show got momentum last week, it already lost the momentum this week. Since the audience already knew about Yuu / Bakuretsu-kun, it seemed like circling the same place. As the contest starts next week, it would gain some headway though.

The only problem this anime has is the bootleg Valorant gameplay, the rest is OK, the premise is also fine but I just can't stand the gameplay and the gameplay is the key, how are they gonna make a hype scene if the game is like a bootleg google store shovelware.

I'm pretty sure it would be cheaper to just license Valorant, Call of Duty or CS:GO instead of making a whole RnD team in making an Unity asset flip bootleg gameplay which I think is also a risk in copyright, and it would also benefit both the anime IP holder and the game, it would basically attract more people, it'll be a nice marketing move.

The otaku guy and Yu are way more interesting than the other chars. Pacing feels fast - they are already at the tournament or some kind of play-offs at least. Focus might go towards the gaming and other chars? (The curry dude seemed fun lol. Was obvious that he'd appear there in the tournament.) I wonder what role the 2 other girls (with the fancy colored clothes) are goign to play?

Would be nice of the anime still showed scenes between the matches and from the private life. Though I guess there will still be a lot of screentime for that. The game is not that interesting. They might handle that pretty fast (only showing short scenes) and the focus of dialogue in between ... with the main group and other players.

I bet the otaku is actually doing pretty well job-wise (university student maybe?) having a clean and tidy room lol. :D Was fun when he commented at the room of Yu.
Maybe ... Yu + Shun ... other girl with the other buy (that wants to hit on the sister but she is too young) ... and the otaku guy with some other girl. :D

I wonder when they'll recognize that Yu is Explosion-kun. Otaku might would most likely be able to recognize her from gaming - since he has good observation and is more skilled at the game than the other three. But he'd have to meet with one of the others when they then suddenly start to play a match with Yu as Explosion-kun.

@Exeterna Nah, that's still can be realistic. That another team probably only hired the former player (Jonathan) as a stand-in for play-offs. I hope they explained it later.

The more unrealistic thing is that Fox One will play in a LAN tournament with a roster consisted of 3 men and 2 women, which is never happened on any high-level tournament of any e-sports. Although, there was a team that played with the same roster composition. But, they've only played in online tournaments. Never in any LAN/offline tournament.

If Fox One win on this tournament with that kind of roster, I think I will give up on this show.

@Nekko_Khayal88 True, it's rare to see women in esports at all unless it's in their own segregated leagues, especially in team based games. I think I remember seeing maybe one or two in overwatch.

@Nekko_Khayal88 But subbing in 5 new players to completely replace the original roster is the biggest red flag LMAO

Isn't there rules where only substitute players that are registered before joining the tournament to be the only ones who can replace the main players

Well, if the tournament organizer allows that, that shouldn't be an issue. Maybe that tournament isn't so professional. Let them explain later, I guess.

It turns out that the blood was tomato juice: v. Shun and Aki apologized. Given the circumstances of the raid, I feel that Nozo and Ángel Caído became very trusting: v. Yuu mentioned that she couldn't play publicly because of her innocent actress image. Shun asked him to join FOX ONE. 6:35 GOD Philosophy :3. Yuu agreed to join, as that was her intention from the beginning, but she asked to maintain her anonymity. 7:45 UFFFFFFFFFF! Mr. Fallen Angel, you like GODDDDDDD xD. Yuu chose a cat mask... It was for him to wear the complete set :v xD. Yuu chose to be Ghost Ninja :3. Nozo chose to be 656 because she is pronounced like Mutsugorou (And what does that mean?). Aki chose to be Z, a, n, e, which means Divine Will. I didn't like that Nozo's father screwed up his pronunciation. Fallen Angel's real name is Ryuusui Nagamine. Yuu shortened his name to Fallen Cat... Fallen Angel sounded better: v. Shun chose to be Syun.

Shun still doesn't know that Bakuretsu is Yuu. The truth is, at this point, I already feel that subplot is unnecessary, it was so that she could tell him the truth. Yuu took the opportunity to find out what Shun thinks of her, but he only talked about Nozo. He then confessed that he envies his friends for his honesty, since he doesn't feel particularly honest about how he is when it comes to video games. Yuu advised him that if what he wants is to enjoy video games, that's what he should do. Then they started playing. Mio saw that Shun was online… she looked worried, wasn't she glad that he was playing again? Or did she worry because it was too late? After this, came team practices for FOX ONE. 14:01 For some reason, it was only here that I realized that Ryuusui's seiyuu is Tomokazu Sugita :v. Ryuusui asked Yuu for an autograph from his co-star, Aki (same name as the other friend: v). It's normal that Yuu would react upset xD. Aki asked for her autograph for Mio, how cool xD. F for the lack of a Blue-ray player: v. 15:35 "Brother-in-law", haha, this man xD. 15:40 Don't worry, lady :V.

Mio liked the polo that Nozo sent her :) . The Okasan told Shun that he should take at least one day off. Mio said that she would like to go to FOX ONE, to which Shun promised her that it would be for another day. When he left, she looked worried again. Finally, she arrived on the first day of the tournament, where the first thing would be to register. Shun saw a guy eating boxed curry... How strange:v. He offered another box to Shun. 18:10 - 18:15 Fer, you with the blonde and me with the black-haired one: v xD. The XAXXERION Championship begins! Of the eight teams, four would remain, and the next day would be the final. Just two days? I thought it would last a few weeks :v. Aki warned them that the strongest team is Sleeping Owl. 20:02 Wow, this KAIZO guy came out great :v xD . He didn't try to delete Aki's accounts, I like that girl less and less. FOX ONE faced Sleeping Owl in their first match... :v. It turns out that KAIZO's replacement is former FOX ONE member Jonathan (I saw that coming). Also, the curry guy is ROX, and he's on that team too.

I thought they would face Jonathan in the final xD. And I suppose that if they defeat the tournament favorites, they would become the new favorites.

Shun's meeting with Yu...certainly was an eye-opener, and Akito coming in on her...isn't so subtle.

Team Fox One visitng Yu's closed apartment, but she has to assume her double identity as both an actress publicly and privately as an eSports player. She's the player that the team needs, and she already intended to join the team, though she must remain anonymity. Akito sure got the boot of his game handle (sounding like unfortunate), and Shun kept the same as his real name, completing the roster. The thing is, Shun is still talking to Explosion-kun like he didn't know that Yu is under that Discord account, though things like romance are not under his bells and whistles, and gaming especially is important to him.

Yu may be famous to get autographs, though Akito is kinda of a swindler wanting to get into Mio's good graces. As the Xaxxerion tournament gets going, Shun notices a boy drinking some curry, though that's nothing to be noted about. For now, the championship goes into Round Robin to allow amateur teams to have a chance to win, though strong teams face them, and Nozomi does not feel comfortable having Akito going viral. But as arranged, the most amateur team facing the strongest team Sleeping Owl, with ex-Team Fox One player Jonathan and the boy Shun met just the while: Rox.

Facing old and new nemesis, the tournament rings its start.

that kare guy must have some spicy burps.

other than seemingly liking shun, i really liked yuu. she seems a lot different than her image and i like thise kinds of characters a lot.
i'm still confused about the tournament. it sounds amateur at best.
an xaxxerion is a horrible name for a game.

EP 3

I actually completely didnt see the episode names for the first two eps

Anyway with preparations done, the actual tournament starts next ep. not sure though, since we have, 3 round robins, then two knockouts, thats five sets. so probably something is going to happen at some point. It's round robin, so they dont actually have to win this round at least

The characters are actually somewhat interesting, but welp, tooo busy with the plot for that.

Like I dunno. It's those "just one more episode guys" syndrome, but conveniently it's not always terrible...until you reach like ep 6/12 and you're like "what did I spend all this time watching"

Seriously, what happened to her good hearing senses? She didn’t know she was being tailed but she figured it was Shun as soon as she heard his voice. Akito the pervert had to see her too.

Which solves my question, that they personally don’t know each other.

Yu is a funny character. She’s nothing like her public image and rowdy. Hates cleaning but knows where everything is. A relatable character I guess.

Everyone hates the name Big Bang Infinity, and she goes with Phantom Ninja. 😅

Yu is 16. Nozomi is 18. Akito is 17. Ryusei is 20. Shun is 17.

I wonder if Yu will reveal that she’s Bakuretsu-kun to Shun.
