Rent-A-Girlfriend
| Kazuya is not a great protagonist, but the community makes it out that he's the literal worst one in anime/manga history, when that's far from the case. A lot of the reason is just because people love hate bandwagons and will blindly hate something cause everybody else is doing it too. Rent a GF is just a fun anime with fun characters in my eyes. I'm 100% looking forward to its 3rd season |

But then the author shitted on the story, the most annoying part was that kazuya was actually growing, showing some development and then the author pretty much shits on his character and brings back kazuya from chapter 1. This was so frustrating, that i stopped reading the manga. Maybe ill pick it up after s3. Apart from valid criticism like the main dude is a legitimate failure of a human being along with the most annoying waifus, I still had dumb fun watching it. Now, I haven't tried to watch Season 2 because I figured it would soon degrade my perception of the show it is, so I stopped before diving further into the madness. |

| I had the same complaints as everyone else when I was watching season 1, but I stopped using my brain when I watched season 2 and I actually enjoyed it that time around. |
| Unironically a good anime, MC is not even that bad compared to a popular liked anime like Mushoku for example |

| Apart from the obvious hate for the mc, i think it’s an enjoyable watch if you just turn your brain off a bit. It’s not the best but it’s still a fun watch |

So the problem for me is not the anime. The anime is fine right now, the problem is the manga goes absolutely no where. Its being stretched out for the sake of being stretched out and there is NO character development. I started out liking the manga and show, which is why I have read so much, but after going absolutely nowhere I have learned to hate it. In short, as others have said here. don't read the manga and enjoy the anime for what it is, cause it goes nowhere. |
