| Geez, what's with all the hate bots? I really liked how the show let you figure out that the actress was the MC's fiance without just telling the audience directly. The art animation looked pretty nice. I'm interested to see where this'll go |

Mashiro no Oto is also another show this season with similar style and that looks promising as well. I don't remember feeling they were off in Shinsekai. The colors did contrast more between them in Shinsekai Yori. Closest shows I can think of at the moment are Chihayafuru and some of 3gatsu no Lion, but even those didn't feel so off to me. Here I think the palette should have been similar to Bakumatsu Kikansetsu or Jouran with washed-off just in some stills to express "immortalized in time" or such effects. Well see if this grows on me or not. If by halfway through the show I can ignore it, or I'll just think every episode about it. |

| The background art is nice. But, the art as a whole looks like something that you will easily forget. There seems to be an absence of a message. It feels like they're going for something that's more poetic and beautiful. Since I like stories like that, I hope they'll be able to do a good job with it. Though, I feel like this episode hasn't managed to gain my trust just yet, and trust is so important for storytellers to gain as early as possible. |
| Need to watch 1 or 2 more episodes to decide. Setting seems cool. (Better than for "Princess of Snow and Blood" because it seems a bit more normal - except the vampires.) I think the young boy is the big end boss vampire ha ha. Main char seems okay. Other than that: For the plot I expect just the "usual vampire story". |
| Absolutely love the art style of this anime. I love anime that go against a different style to mainstream anime. Some people will moan and say it looks boring and flat but I love how crisp the anime looks. I am really enjoying the soundtrack too, it’s so atmospheric. High hopes for this anime and I’m hoping it’s going to be as good plot wise as it looks. PS. Sorry but why are people rating the anime after one episode ?? Watch it all, then make a rating. Or even if you’ve watched 85 percent of it and it’s hot garbage then fair enough rate it what you want. I’ll just never understand people rating a show on the first episode, good or bad. 😂 |

| Watched it last night and thought it was a brilliant episode. Loved every second of it. I was left with some question the first time around but I gladly rewatched it and I can say it was definitely my favourite season premiere so far. It was just so masterfully crafted and written. If the writing and production quality don't fall off, I think I might've found my anime of the year already. |

That's true, especially now with Re:Zero, AoT and even Yuru Camp. Although it's a bit surprising anyone would bother botting this one, with barely 500 users watching it and all. Haha |

| On the shot composition this looks to be done by someone that knows what they are doing, but I did see some oddities in the phasing, it was too fast, and some cuts feel like they where done too early, but in general it was really well shot holy shit, felt like I was watching a movie. I think its weird vibe is interesting but something is making me feel this is going to be pretentious rather than great, maybe I'm wrong, damn I hope I'm wrong, cus I haven't seen this level of shot composition since I watched Babylon (I know, the ending) and its stunning shots, that even tho they are not done this much, they are executed better when done, but hell, what am I saying this is just ep one, so it could exceed even more later on. Now the plot, story (or however you say it) going around here, really trilled to know more, but also pls don't turn pretentious pls |

| Well that was a sad start with Maeda's fiancée turning out to be the vampire actress and her committing suicide by light there at the end. Definitely seems like this is going to be an eccentric artsy anime with its wide aspect ratio, animation style and kinda vague story telling. |
