| Sadly, I'm actively starting to dislike this show. I get that some characters aren't meant to be particularly likable, I get that it's meant to be ridiculous, slapstick humour, but... It just feels "off" somehow, even through the lens of nostalgia, I guess I'll try the third episode, but then I'll probably drop. |

| Nah, dropping this. Too much BS for my taste. Too much yelling, too many annoying characters. I mean, come on... dude's attending a class quietly and an alien chick is clinging to him and makes noise, yet literally everyone blames the dude and is aggressive towards him - TOTALLY ignoring the flying alien chick who's at fault!!! What part of this garbage is supposed to be funny? - "Take of your bra to ease back-pain"? Constant horniness and violence towards MC? Nah, couldn't crack a smile. Maybe the original was better? Dunno, not eager to check. The only + I saw in the entire show is Lum. She looks cute sometimes, but her character - not so cute. |

Nichijou and Urusei have similarities but aren't comparable. See, it's way too easy to trash on a comedy show. Everyone can do it. Not everyone has to share the same taste in humor. And you're telling me this why? I Just posted my opinion and am planning to move on. It's garbage for me but others don't have to agree. It's not like I'm preaching or making a new thread to "spread hate" or something. I'm not even going to rate the show at all - IMO it's unfair to rate something you didn't even bother to finish. Whoever enjoys this show can and likely will enjoy it regardless. I'm not judging anyone. Glad you like Nichijou as well. The matter of fact is, Nichijou hooked me from episode 1. This show did the opposite. I decided to give it another chance, but barely finished episode 2. Nah... not for me. |

Lum's design is really sexy, the way she is animated is definitely one of the finer points of this adaptation, and her hair, really like the detail to that. If this dude had his brain working he would have stop fucking around already, dive in her arms, stop with the cheating talks and just get her in bed, for god sake she wants you to marry her, just get to already, hard to find a better piece of meat around (it is even cute when she shocks him, really love how they animate her hair). |

Especially the “I should’ve never given birth to him“ line. It came up twice in the first half of the first episode alone! I mean, what sort of sicko would actually think that it’s funny!?! And I agree that the episodes definitely seemed rushed too. I saw some of the original, and I do not remember it being this fast! And don’t even get me started with the personality issues as well! Seriously! |

Regarding “I should’ve never given birth to him“ is not like mother of MC really means it. Is just a cry of exasperation. Her house is destroyed once every couple of weeks due to Ataru's shennanigans, due to him being percived as a mega perv ( although most of the times is nor merited) she is the talk of the neighbourhood. And there is the problem of Cherry. While Ataru has a huge load of bad luck from birth the interference if Cherry which is the biggest freeloader makes things even worse. |

However, there’s a certain line that you don’t cross, even under those sort of circumstances. And that whole “I should’ve never given birth to him“ bits is one of those lines. And it also reminded me of a scene in an anime where the mother really did mean it, I’m not sure if you know about it, but it’s called HigeHiro and the mother in that series has got to be the worst mother I’ve ever seen in anime! Sure, the MC’s mother in this anime didn’t mean it, but I’m sure you get what I mean. |
