| It was a decent first ep, pretty much how expected shield hero to me. Could someone explain to me how it was rushed compared to the novels? I am hearing from a lot of people they skipped content. Did they skip important stuff? |
| The animation for me was quite decent but the movements are a bit stiff, I hope they can fix those things. It has been some time since I remembered the source, I just hope they didn't skip any scenes before creating this first ep. Though the character design needs polishing first, the action scenes are especially averagely decent to watch. For the first episode, I didn't get the "hype" that I was looking for but I'm glad we got to have a 2nd season. |
| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

| Felt like an ehh episode, honestly. A lot of things seemed to happen but it's nice to see Naofumi and co. finally having some peace of mind. Meanwhile, the other heroes remain useless. It's almost reassuring to see that, xD. Queen's got an interesting way to sell her plan. It's kind of adorable how the ahoge's move like that when Fitoria and Filo converse, lol. I totally forgot that she threatened to destroy the world if the three don't compromise and whatnot, the time for the world must definitely be ticking away for now. Rishia's character will need something. Bland as hell, as things stand. Pretty weak of an Op theme compared to the first two. I haven't heard the ED yet but hopefully, that'll be up there with the previous two. |

| I have so many fuzzy memories about the first season, I liked it a lot but its been quite a while and so many other isekai have aired since that it is hard to keep track of the plot of each one but at least as the episode kept going I was remembering things little by little but man, I have no recollection at all about Rishia, I'm just glad I'm not the only one having a hard time remembering her. |
| Was a good episode so far, the plot is/was going into main plot/thread which are waves and I guess the same as season 1 we will be filled with a side-thread, pervious one was revenge + this island in 2-3 last episodes and now some sort of a walking turle which reminds me of walking mausoleums from Elden Ring. Haven't read LNs so idk if the part of journey they've made to the east was skipped or not, for me it seems ok, as it would be the repetition of the "occasional" stuff/achievments in their way as it happened in last season, so we're going straight to the problem in next episode from what I see so far. |
| Cliffhanger on episode 1 itself AAAAAAA Anyway, great start and great episode. The waves have been put on hold for a while and now Naofumi and party have a new enemy to face, the spirit Tortoise. The action scenes towards the end were great, didn't expect Naofumi to use wrath shield and stuff so early in the season, seems like those monsters are powerful. There's this mystery surrounding Fitoria's words too, Naofumi will have to make some choice...I just hope the choice isn't between his own party members or something because that's gonna be painful. I'm not sure if that song in the end is supposed to be the ED or the OP but anyways, Tate no Yuusha is back with its "ooOOOooOO's" in it's songs xD, also the song is pretty good, though I will have to agree with some others in this thread that it's not as good as the previous ones, especially it's nowhere as good as season 1 OP1. Amazing episode, 5/5. Can't wait to watch next week's episode. This season is just getting started, we are in treat for many more amazing animes this season. Also, season 2 is confirmed for jusr 13 episodes :/ We have season 3 already announced too, so just hoping that maybe season 3 is two cours. |

Raphtalia happily suggesting Rishia to become a slave lmao. Show me your chest! xD And then Naofumi calling for her to stop with her "fweh's" only to be replied with one lol. You know, I would feel sad about Rishia's situation if Itsuki wasn't such an asshole. Right now it's kind of annoying Filo's ahoge acting as an antenna was hilarious. Oh, and Kana Hanazawa wants to die. What a pleasant surprise to hear her in this show. |

| That was an underwhelming episode, the map of the exposition felt very uninspired to me, exactly like the MMO, and still the same style of it from the previous seasons of such. It does not feel like a seperate unique series itself. |

| For once I kinda wish we had a brief recap at the start or even a recap episode a week prior to this episode airing, since I never got around to rewatching season 1 💀 but first impressions are just ok, I'm not really big on Shield Hero anyway so this episode left me feeling about the same as the first season. It's average, watchable at least, but average. And from the complaints I'm seeing in this thread, I'm a little worried about how the quality of this season will be. Oh well, let's see what lies ahead. |

| This is an average 8/10 for you people? Damn standards have dropped. First episode was significantly worse than previous season. Cliche after cliche and stupid isekai tropes. It was almost unwatchable. While I will give it few more episodes in hopes it redeems itself, but I have no idea how you can say this was on a level of Trigun, Cowboy Bebop and similar greats at the same level. Scary. |

| Its been some time but its nice to see Naofumi and the team again once more. Being appointed lord of a village must be nice. Raphtalia and Filo sure made quick work of the attackers. Its sad seeing Rishia be treated like this though given that it was her former party that pushed her out. Being the bridge between the two races is a role that i think would suit Melty pretty well. Rishia's determination to earn Itsuki's respect is admirable though. It was cute seeing Rishia's reaction to how they interact when out in the field. The three idiots rushing off and getting defeated is nothing new but man this is way too fast even for them. The clash at the end at the town while nicely animated did well to showcase some of Naofumi's new abilities with wrath shield and dark curse burning being real eye openers. Overall an excellent return to the series after a three year absence that featured a fine balance of world expansion and reintro to the cast. By the visuals looks like they shuffled the training part to another ep given that Éclair is in the ending. The battle against the spirit tortoise though looks like its going to be badass. Plus looks like we'll be seeing a lot of new characters as well. |

| After 3 years, Shield Hero has finally returned and the first episode of the second season wasted no time in getting straight back into action with the threat of the Spirit Tortoise. Rishia is cute and she wants to do her best to get stronger so that Itsuki will give her another try in having her in his (rather snobby) party. For now, she's with Naofumi, Raphtalia and Filo and they all head off to deal with the Tortoise, which can't be said for the other heroes as they think it's not worth their time. Nothing can cure their stupidity, huh? XD Overall, this first episode was good. The pacing was on the quick side and while the action wasn't the best, it was satisfying enough to see Naofumi unleash the wrath shield and wipe out the opposing monster enemies. The new OP from Madkid sounds good, too. |
| It seems like a lot of people are pretty disappointing on this episode. I was never huge on this show in the first place. However, in all fairness, it's only the first episode, so you can't really expect things to have hit the gas already. We did get a cliff-hanger at the end though, so hopefully next week's episode will be more exciting. |

| The pace for this episode just felt really off and awkward in general. Felt incredibly lackluster, although that feeling was also there when I read all the light novels. The lack of a real hook past the Myne stuff from the first season (which wasn't that good anyway) makes this feel a bit meandering right now. Production wasn't that great either. Looked really janky with the movement and frames. Kinema Citrus hopefully can improve with the upcoming episodes. |
| Shield Hero is back and Naofumi and his party are faced with a new threat which is the Spirit Tortoise being revived and is causing familiar monsters to appear while the countdown to the new wave has stopped. The Queen tries to get the hero's together and come up with a plan to deal with the Spirit Tortoise, but they continue to be assholes by leaving the Queen behind and letting the Shield Hero deal with it. So Naofumi's party travels east where the Spirit Tortoise is located and they try to fend of the familiars that are attacking the checkpoint. Rishia is starting to become annoying as she is desperate to get back with the Bow hero's party when its clear that they don't want her. She was willing to get a slave tat in hope that it will make her stronger. I don't understand what she see in the Bow hero that makes her want his approval so badly and I have a feeling she might do something stupid to put herself in danger again. |

Def agree on the janky scenes. The animation quality for many of the scenes--especially considering this is the premiere episode--was less-than-stellar. Recap episodes are hit-or-miss. As this episode went on, I realized I wouldn't have been averse to an episode 0 for this season. I'll hit Wikipedia for the summaries and may even go back and re-watch season 1. I've been looking forward to this season for quite a while. Hopefully, I haven't gotten myself too excited. |

| It's aite so far, I don't see anything too bad for the time being. Liked it. Can't say there is too much to comment on. I forgor most of the characters tbh, like that one girl who likes the Arrow Hero or whatever, who tf is she lol. But it is w/e. Liking how everything is rolling so far. |
| Rishia's sounds are so annoying x_x Eventually those weird sounds will die down with time, but it's going to be a long journey unfortunately -_- Felt bad for her to be excluded and rejected from Itsuki's party, but I'm feeling positive and hopping for him to give her a second chance. I will laugh if Naofumi can prove that jerk wrong by helping Rishia's level up. She needs to rise her self-esteem :) This new OP is poor compared with the 1st season ones .-. It lacked that kind of impact but still, it was ok I guess :/ Also, the episode is ok. We haven't seen clearly that Turquoise beast but I'm hopping the CGI is ok (Hopefully they don't screw this part...) What? How come there's only 13 episodes this season? Too short! X( |
