| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Whenever I hear that phrase, "Stop being selfish!", in an anime, I always end up wincing. How is it selfish that she didn't want to do more than her share? I swear to goodness, whenever someone says that, they're the ones actually being selfish. Obviously the other girl was just a fucking coward too afraid to confront the manipulative bitches who were trying to get out of working. This show is pretty cynical, isn't it? |

| OK, I'll admit now that Faina is a bit of a weirdo. She's clearly got some issues and it seems her religion even has a bit of a following. Kouji is a wimp to be sure, but his brother has to be one of the most annoying characters I've ever seen. Oh, and Juli has it bad for Airs Blue. What a strung up cast. I like how the Dicastia is piloted only by women. |

| Faina is starting to come across is somewhat crazy . . . She really does seem obsessed with throwing away her past . . . I wonder if at some point Kouji will be her past. Anyways, they should have gotten rid of the unlimited point crap, that really is just making the people more and more pissed off at the people in charge. |

| Create a system and people will find a way to abuse it. I...I think I've become more cynical over the years. No, rather, this story is making me think that way. It just feels like the downfall of civilization is playing out so perfectly aboard the Ryvius. Family and past riches no longer matter. Children are forced to grow up and become hardened and cold. The once higher class are brought down to their knees. The people devolve into self-absorbed, selfish leeches whom are only out for themselves. Might is the only thing that matters, and any textbook knowledge not geared towards control is rendered useless. Everyone returns to lounging around, or gambling, or complaining when the whole world isn't spoonfed to them. The leadership position becomes less of a king's throne and more of a chopping block. Also, for that matter, Juli is sure making for a great puppet leader. There's no real hope for humanity in the world of Infinite Ryvius. It makes me wonder how this could end in any way but annihilation. |
| Stockholm Syndrome much, Juli? There's no way she genuinely feels for Blue. I still have trouble understanding why everyone gives Kouji so much shit for "not thinking/acting for himself and being overly reliant on others." I personally don't like him as a character, but I can't say I agree with the criticism the in-anime characters give him. I think his character would come off as pretty well written, honestly, if the way others treated him actually reflected his behavior, aka him being a self-righteous pussy who doesn't know how to open up to people, but instead they treat him like he's a lemming suckling Faina's teet, even though he obviously thinks Faina is a hot lunatic (I'm exaggerating here, just to be clear). If they really believe what they're saying, then they're huge hypocrites, since they're also 'going with the flow' as much as Kouji is. Do those kitchen bitches really want to be there? Does Kouji's friend really want to play peacekeeper between the two brothers while also continuing to defend the Ryvius? Does good ol' Yuki, "I hate everything and everyone fuck you," really want to exist? Everyone on the Ryvius is very obviously working out of obligation, first and foremost; they may have other things that drive them as well, but to give Kouji shit for feeling obligated to help is downright absurd (my conclusion is that this anime's writers are just terrible—the concept is great, but the scripting is bad). The way the tension is building on the Ryvius is just way too orchestrated. So maybe there's just a gas leak or something and they've all become severely mentally ill and thus the extreme irrational behavior. Also, lol, Next Week: Attack of the Intergalactic Grandmas!!! |

| That short haired Zwei girl is a total shotacon isn't she ? Also, to nobody's surprise, the ship is a total mess that's somehow floating along, inexplicably. Seriously, this future needs to seriously raise its standards for its astronauts. I'll be honest, I would like the Blue x Juli pairing more if he wasn't constantly a dick to her. I don't even get why Juli likes him. I mean sure, compared to the rest of the guys on Ryvius he's a catch but still. |
