It really feels like no one is safe in this show...regardless who you are.

That promise between Takashi and Makoto though. I trust that Takashi is a man of his word. At any rate, it looks like this is the first part of a mult-arc saga.

It's really tense in Ikekuburo right now, violence is everywhere because of Shadow, well this is interesting for sure now I wonder what will happen next, they definitely need to solve the situation as soon as possible

That opening with the opera style music, and people being covered via masks. Just gave me flashbacks of Batman Arkham Knight with Pyg lol.

Reached our first multi episode arc of this show finally. The G Boys are going to war with each other. Some shady happenings going on in Ikebukuro with these masked bastards going around beat up G Boys teams. All whom just coincidentally are teams that Hiroto runs within the G Boys. I can understand Hiroto frustration given that its his guys who keep getting beat to a pulp. He doesn't even run a majority of the G Boys teams yet it always his guys. Shadow has really got everyone in Ikebukuro on edge. Whoever hired him has completely wrecked the power structure, just like King said. The person orchestrating this is trying to get the G Boys to go to war against each other. Trying to get them to take each other out then swoop in and pick up the scraps. There's heavy emphasis that its the Red Angels and Kyouichi with those shots towards the end of the episode when we see him after this last push by Shadow. Makoto did confront them with Kyouichi giving a full denial of course but we'll see if that's legit truth or more smokescreen. Makoto and King have a tall task of finding Shadow and his employer.

Finally a multi episode arc, was about to drop this. Anyway, Hiroto seems dumb as fuck if he doesn't believe Takashi is innocent. Though he might just be saying that he thinks Takashi is the controller of the attackers/shadow as an excuse to leave the G-Boys. He might even be controlling the attackers.

Interesting film they were making. I have a feeling Saru or that film Director might be somehow involved in this.

I always thought Hiroto as the loyal type but wow this dude is beyond dumb unless all of this is an act to lure out the true enemy ofc.

It seems like Red Angels made their move, I can't think of anyone else who would want to wreck the balanace in Ikebukuro. This arc looks promising, I hope it'll be good.

After 5 redundant filler episodes, we finally have an arc that could last a couple of episodes or until the end

What happened with Hiroto is out of character for him and I hope there's an explanation unless he is that dumb of a person which is a bad way of ruining a character.

Okay, I've got to agree with some of the speculations above. I'm certain this is staged from G-Boys and I feel like the Director could indeed be involved in way or another.

Good luck breaking this momentum to mayhem apart, Makoto.

Oh look, a multi-episode arc. At least the boring factor is cut by half.

Filming in Ikebukuro and Makoto back at doing errands again with helping a fellow G-Boys's movie flick fan. But I'd not be surprised that the Red Angels would be back with their animal heads for a disguise to kill without second thoughts to reclaim their spot as the leading gang and deal disruption to the balance once again.

Hiroto's gang of teams being attacked, and not even King/Takashi is left to chance for this hard-headed person to deal with (mainly hierarchy and trust issues). Just how dumb a person like this exist in the biggest Ikebukuro gang...

Makoto may not be part of the G-Boys, but sure as hell he'd risk his life together with the people close to him in relation, with or without consequences. Even close-knitted friends keep secrets, and a candle to the grave.

Not just G-Boys alone, but previous gangs being beaten up is enough for evidence, but yet this "Shadow" hired hitman causing an internal rift and war, it'd take more than just brute force to force Hiroto out of his illusion.

Just gonna await for next week's continuation.

We finally got an arc worth interesting for. Shadow and his furry gang are ransacking the Ikebukuro factions. With Hiroto already on sour terms with Takashi, he and his group finally left the G-Boys.

With Donglong and the Red Angels also getting involved, the stakes had never been higher. I'm hoping that this arc will atleast leverage the sinking prospects for the show and maybe a solid ending.

Its looks like, the story already reached its main course after having a lot of random episodic style of story telling. The winter war, between all the G-boys. That might led them into a havoc that messed up with the balance in the Ikebukuro as a whole big underground organization. Total wars?

From Makoto's perspective, someone already started a chaos and baiting a grumpy faction until they has been fell into a hostility toward the King. However, the King denied the situations and pretty sure someone taking a chance for the chaos to took their own advantages. Was that the Red Angels job? Makoto was still know nothing, even with me too. But with that sign .... Oh, well. So, its Makoto's job to revealed the truth behind those brutal activities. I hope that the porns's dvd clerk was not getting involved on that chaos. Because it might be pretty bad for his life.

Well, okay, a cliffhanger. Lets see Makoto's effort to solved the problem before everything turned out into a worst scenarios!

The red leader seemed suspicious at the end smiling and all... but if they are the ones who are doing this then it's way too simple, I hope there is something bigger scheme in the background

The best episode of the anime so far.

Hiroto was being very dumb in this episode I doubt Hiroto is the culprit, he's very dumb for that. But the red hot ballet looked pretty sketchy but I doubt the issue is that simple. I want to see Takashi snap again. As the leader of the biggest and most influential gang, I'm surprised he stayed so silent.

Ah finally, the plot begins! I wonder if King's gonna come to his senses or not later in the series. Seems like the Red Angels are at least partially involved with the turmoil among the G-Boyz

Now things are heating up. Finally a multi-episode arc and things are already very tense.

Some more insight on how the G-boys are operating, Hiroto ("Knight") was honestly acting so foolishly and making rash decisions. I personally feel that there's someone else in the G-Boys stirring shit up with the leaders, to take control after. Definitely not ruling out the Red Angels as well... Especially the final shot made them look rather suspicious.

This episode is the start of a war probably between G-Boys, Knights G-Boys and Red Angels.

The men in the masks are brutal, they beat down all their targets pretty bad. Makoto will most definitely have a difficult time solving this war.

Good episode :)

I really liked that intro scene with the opera music, felt really ominous.

Finally we got out first multi-part story and it's looking pretty good so far, it's probably that Hiroto just found this situation to be a perfect opportunity to branch off from the G-boys, that's why he's insisting that Takashi is the culprit behind shadow. Or ya know they could be bamboozling us I don't know.

Though, Kyouichi is acting very sus right now. I honestly don't want the Red Angels to be behind all this. They seem to be good people so far, looking forward to the next episode.

This episode set the stage for something big coming up and I am hyped for it. I really wish they'd take some time to explore characters a bit more cuz so far just their screen time doesn't really sell any to me. I like the show overall but it feels like it's going nowhere.

Durarara is a masterpiece, period. Hehe. And yeah, I kind of had hopes for the adaptation to be better but it's lacking in some of its most vital areas, such as story and characters.

This! This should have been the first episode! It sets the gang anime mood soooo much better. If this is going where I think this is going, I'm glad I stuck through half a season of weekly PSAs. I almost thought this week was going to be about porn being bad based on the first segment.

If I were the writers I'd kill off King in the next couple episodes to advance the plot and raise the stakes higher and get Makoto even more personally invested... but I don't really have faith that they'll do that.

I've fallen in love with this episode from the start.Opera style music with violent scenes by thugs who wear animal masks. Then the rhythmic op inserted matching with overlooking of the city.It really aroused my emotion and expection to this episode.

Glad to see IWGP has given up the form of unit play and plan to put more time to tell a complete story. The city is filled with violence now and that's the right way of a gangster anime.Red Angels which seemed to be irrelevant to this case has got some appearance. We have the evidence to suspect that they're the cause of this situation.

Waiting for next week's continuation.

I knew King's blond "bodyguard" would be against his way of leading but seriously, this Hiroto dude seems dumb as fuck. Wouldn't be surprised if he is the one who contacted Shadow to attacked his own boys as an excuse to go against Takashi.

Another mediocre episode. Hiroto honestly looks more like a clown than someone to be afraid of. The same with Shadow and his band of furry lovers.

It really was hard seeing the G-Boys getting beaten up like that.

Hiroto, or Knight as he likes to call himself, really is dumb af for jumping to conclusions with no evidence.

Anyway, things are started to get interesting and now we an arc that lasts more than one episode.

Lots of tensions and doubts within and between the different factions. To think a small group led by this Shadow figure could shake up everything this much. Have to say Hiroto sure is one hell of a dumb fellow for someone who was the number 2.
