That new Gadoll is on another level...damn.

Mixed thoughts on the CGI usage but the battle is pretty intense with high stakes. This definitely had the feeling of a penultimate episode imo with the high stakes and amount of destruction.

Gadolls really are extraordinary entities.

What a lit episode! definitely feels like the climax of the show, true that the CGI wasn't that good but overall the episode was surprisingly tense and captivating, can't wait to see the last episode.

Also let's pray for a mecha-dence :D

Honestly for how dire the situation is this episode was very wholesome. Kaburagi and Natsume working together warms my heart. I also really like seeing Jill and Kaburagi banter, as well as Kaburagi with Minato at the end. Lots of great dialogue in the scenes this episode. I'm glad it wasn't just a balls to the wall action fest. Of course there's some action too but it was mostly some slower scenes setting up next week the finale to be the crazy action fest.

That giant Gadoll is a problem!! A whole problem!! I knew it would catch the giant Deca Dence fist, been waiting for a big Gadoll to do that and holy hell did my jaw drop when it happened. That mutated bug Gadoll is crazy. Evolving right there on the battlefield. Laying eggs inside itself to have the tankers fight off some fodder instead of being able to focus on the big one itself. This thing is not just big and strong it's smart too, very dangerous. Blocking the Deca Dence punch and firing it's own laser up at the main station in space!! This is thing is crazy to witness.

I loved the scene with Natsume meeting the robots finally. Getting them all individually was funny. I'm glad she wasn't spooked by them, finding them cute. Which they are to be honest. Jill revealing she helped build the core of Deca Dence. That's how she's so smart and knows so much about how everything works. Then great final scene with Kaburagi and Minato like I said before. Kaburagi helping Minato out just like Natsume did for him. Perfect line of 'its a mistake but maybe that's what makes it right'. I loved that. Excited to see Kaburagi take control of the entire Deca Dence facility to defeat this giant Gadoll in the finale!!

Honestly thought the CGI didn't look bad at all. Mainly cause the setting and background helped that factor. Cannot wait for the conclusion honestly. Next week cannot come quick enough.

No one expect Kaburagi X Minato!

The system has such a irresponsible nature, they'll reset when things go wrong, just like my computer, or any computer ;)

Talking about cliche, this will be a night battle, and the victory will come with a sunrise.

The huge CGI Gadoll spawned bug, and Deca-Dence in Minato's control in all its entirety has to tread the fine line of uncertainty, unlike the big ones before that are under the System's control with high predictability.

And as is with ANY huge-scale CGI usage battles, it comes off as quite mixed.

In a plot twist of fate, the complete shutdown of Deca-Dence under Solid Quake's control is inevitable, but given Jill's expertise in the project, at least some control can be snatched back. She's essentially the wild card, a project founder, and her mysterious actions have been prioven time and time again to always succeed at no matter how slim the success rate is: the character we didn't deserve, but serving to the need when needed the most.

And of course, Natsume ventured far to encounter the same cyborgs that helped out Kaburagi, even in his cyborg state (when he drove past her).

But whatever, the final battle rounds down to Kaburagi controlling Deca-Dence with Minato's help, and let the final battle begin of the original Rankers vs. the Gadoll!

Definitely feeling like the penultimate episode, let it end with a bang with the finale next week! Anticipating great things to come and end on a good note!

we are in the endgame now

ye there is no perfect system so a bug will eventually destroy the very system anyway (entropy and devolution or decadence (synonym of degeneracy or corruption) right there)

and lol that gadoll is one fucking giant bug for sure

but Kaburagi is now mind uploaded and is controlling Deca-Dence though so is that giant fortress gonna transform into a giant robot?

its nice that Natsume now knows how cyborgs or robots look like

who will win the final fight is it biological monsters or robots #ArtificialVersusNature

Jill was mentioned to be one of the core scientist/engineer of Deca-Dence and the whole system they have now so maybe after the war is over she can make a new better system that will make robots, gadolls and human coexist

P.S. ive been making a lot of repost lol sorry im trying to make some post of mine on anime that i enjoy as some short notes of what i find great about it

I feel like I’m the only one in the comments complaining about the CGI, but man the giant boss fight is awful.. like Gibiate/overlord 3 awful.. luckily the characters and story are great enough to make up for it.

I’m sad this show’s ending, really been a fun ride, I don’t think we’ll get a season 2. Seems like a standard 12 ep show, but what a fun ride.

So that last week cliffhanger was all for nothing at the end, because it just resolved in few minutes, We fighting final boss who coming out of nowhere with weapon that is also coming out of nowhere. Revealing deca dence as a weapon really feels like a cop out. Kaburagi's drive and motivation is the only saving grace from this anime,. Regardless of the final episode, in my opinion Deca Dence is a rushed product.
I'm too weird to live but much too rare to die.

Damn, it's going to be an interesting final episode next week!

Gadoll Bug v Kaburagi-san, who would've imagined this was coming. Good to see Commander Minato chipping in with help in the end.

MVP of the episode has to go to the mysterious former big-shot lady, easily. Installing a bug in the core, I wonder what kind of an effect it'll have in the upcoming battle.

Natsume crying over Kaburagi's former avatar right in front of him was pretty hilarious, by the way. But the best of the lot yet again has to go to Kurenai-san, god I can't have enough of them xD.

Here's to hoping we've got ourselves a peach of a conclusion next episode!

Comparing the CG to Gibiat and overlord is a BIG ass claim as those are truly extreme levels of terrible CG, the big gadoll was pretty bad tho dont get me wrong, but the model at least moved and it was a well directed fight overall.

Talk about a cliff hanger eps ending!

Edit: If people are going to cry about cgi in shows and if its good or bad, there better off not watching stuff. Cgi to animated cells is probably decades off in technology. So suck it up or dont watch it instead of shitting on an amazing show because you think it can be done better by whatever standards kami holds you to... I didn't even notice the difference that much at any point between different art styles. I just love the story and its characters regardless of what medium the animators choose to use.

When most anime would have scenes in the late part of the show crumble animation-wise, this episode had a total of maybe 15 seconds worth of stuff that didn't look as good as the rest of the show. The quality has been really consistent and I hope the final episode delivers on an epic action-packed finale.
I made a youtube video of my thoughts on this episode and the show as a whole, if anyone wants to check it out here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irczJsr0_eU

Things are shaping up for a pretty exciting final episode, and one that I do look forward to seeing. =)

Kaburagi's plan to operate Deca-Dence is very ambitious, but he has the help of Jill and Minato, so I'm sure he'll get this job done. The Gadoll monster itself was rather ridiculously strong. The CGI was a bit hit and miss at times, but it was good enough to showcase how strong this Gadoll was.

Fingers crossed the finale will conclude this series in a good way. =)

"Many years have passed since humanity was driven to the brink of extinction by the sudden emergence of the unknown life forms Gadoll"
But aren't the Gadoll a manufactured species by the gears/cyborgs?? I thought it was the pollution and disease that made humanity go almost extinct. The history is so confusing....

This was a good episode.

When natsume was having those flashbacks of Pipe I thought that was confirmation that she was gonna go and talk to the gadoll and try to create peace with it or something along those lines.

I don't like Jill. Kabu is deff going to die, whether next episode or the unannounced next season that will probably happen.

The CGI being used here is visual in my eyes. At least this animation studio is improving in terms of 2D-3D blend.

Anyway, I didn't expect that it would be the last meet between Kaburagi and Natsume. I hope his sacrifice pays off well.

Kaburagi was quick to log into the other character and put an end to Hugin. Seeing Natsume freak out cause of that was amazing.

I loved the interaction with the cyborgs and Natsume, I didn't think that would happen at all. Now I wish with the final, that Natsume can meet the Cyborg version of Kaburagi in person. But for now, it seems like Kaburagi might sacrfice himself to save the rest.

Interesting. So the system was basically like gg gonna have to restart and were gonna remove their barrier keeping all the toxic bs from the rest of the world out. I assume that would kill the shit out of anything remaining. But Okay Kabu can gain control of Deca-dence and Minato can help him pilot or w/e and they can prob kill the big guy and actually destroy the Gadol for good, but then what? The system is still gonna be around. I'm curious as to how they will conclude all of this.

I knew it! I knew Natsume would call Kabu "cute" once she saw the cyborgs' real form. Now my next dream is to see her lifting Kabu in her arms if he somehow survives the final encounter against Gadoll Omega.

Pretty entertaining episode, honestly. The pacing was really well handled, making the events feel a lot more exciting and though I'm kinda disappointed about the fact that it seems the deal with Hugin is over for now, I'm still really looking forward to the upcoming clash. This episode was the best.

Thought Kabu wouldn't make it but that was quick, glad Natsume was saved.

How Natsume tried to fight Hugin was great.

Natsume getting along with the other cyborgs, it's so like her. Looks like Jill can understand now why Kabu took a liking to her.

Minato really wanted to fight together with Kaburagi again, finally he's able to do that or it could also be the last time.

I hope Kabu comes back alive after defeating that huge Gadoll. I really want Natsume to see Kabu's cyborg form, it would be so funny and cute XD

Final episode next week. I hope it's going to be more epic.

This is far better than my expectations. Eventhough, the fight scene kinda underwhelming, because a Solid-Quake just being a dick as a system, and ran away from the messed they found out. Overall this is just a nice continuations episode, for me. A lot of development happened, more revelations as its result. The storyline just came in and out in a pretty fast transition, but its still served in a nice style. The worlds building elements almost reaching its end, the Dome of Deca-Dence already revealed its appearance. Damn, Solid-Quake, they surely just being a complete jerk. I wonder if they might've became the next villain if this story moved up into another level, when that big-ass Gadoll already died. They won't let human controlled the earth again. Yeah, it might happened, Kabu just stated it in the previous episode. You just wait and chill there, Solid-Quake.

My wish for Natsume and Kaburagi to met with each others finally has been granted, although its not such a good meeting for them too. Okay, be patience. They surely had its moment again, when the time has come. Fortunately, Natsume found out the others cyborg location which was mean that she already feel comfortable around them. Nice, its just the usual Natsume nature. So i shall already guess that she was not care much if they were a robot, or even a cute Gadoll like, Pipe. More importantly they were not harm her, everyone could became her friends! Oh, yeah, Pipe, now i really missed him!

Talking about the giant Gadoll CGI, its okay, nothing bad. Actually, its just served as a device to move forward the story elements into the end game for the Deca-Dence storyline. Its even showed the usual nature of the game, or even a program. Bug led into an infinite possibility. Gadoll just served as that unexpected possibility. They can't let it, but surely must aware that system couldn't even do anything to solved the situations. So, i don't really have any complain about that. Story wise always be my top priority among its animation. However, surely i want some improvement of their battle sequences in the next episode, if they need to be more catchy than this.

Okay, what else do i got here? More detailling information. Solid-Quake reaction with the mess? Ofc, that shitty company won't care much to what happened in the earth. They were in a fuckin space! Checked. How Jill finally revealed her true identity in the past (although, surely this cyborg girl had more mysterious thing than i can anticipated). She even threw some phylosophycal thingy into that problem. I am amazed. The last thing, how the Deca-Dence just a solid machine and can't fight well with Gadoll that had a great amount of intelligence on it. However, it could be a useful machine, if it had a nice driver to give a better order, rather just launched the same thing over and over again. So, yeah, everything was just fine and nice for me. The end.

Okay. I might had more thoughts about this episode. But, consider there was another episode to be aired the next week, i might cancel some of my mind to burst it out again in the next one. So, yeah lets see it, then! The final moment of Kabu-san, united with the Deca-Dence, to fight that chilling Gadoll, for the sake of humanity. Remember, he still had an ability called limiter that could surpass any limit he had to became more powerful than usual. So, he might used that to Deca-Dence to fight more effectively against that Gadoll. Oh, well, i just hope he could back online again in a chibi cyborg form again. Or else, Natsume might had some hollow on her heart again. First, Pipe, second Kabu? Well, it might surely became a bad ending and i simply can't hold my feeling if that shit happening. So, yeah, once again, let just see the next one!

The show has some interesting themes told under a pretty classic storytelling but well paced and satisfying. Chaos vs order, free will vs duty, exploration of the human nature... I think is a pretty good show.

Good character development, Natsume completely trusting Kabu showing she has matured and accepting the reality of her world that was shattered by the revelation. Minato going through his journey too...

The CGI was ok for me and i like the drawing style of the show in general. I wonder why the cyborgs have this "childish" look, maybe for separating easily the "real" world from the human world, idk, but has a reason.

The "deus ex machina" of logging to deca-dence is in the most pure Trigger studio style, I like it and accept it. If we are gonna have a real mecha fight why not use the tropes of the best in the genera :D (i'm not specially fan of mecha animes but i really loved Promare).

As I said in the previous ep discussion, the show is not groundbreaking but probably one of the best of the season and much better than the usual shonen or harem shit people loves. I suppose it will have a somewhat open ending but I don't think it will have a 2nd season, although the story has options to go in a 2nd season with the confrontation of humanity and the system, maybe learning to live in harmony at the end and fixing the world. Not by chance it has some Matrix vives with a twist.

Just really forced. Suddenly one Gadoll is granted a special chest burster power that even the developers don't know about, then gets one cheap shot that leads to one being created that somehow becomes the size of a mountain in one day by eating bodies? It'd be fine if it was a rare real creature, but remembering that every Gadoll is designed for gameplay makes this beyond improbable and right into asspull bad writing. It's so bad they even need to spend a minute just explaining to the audience that "it's just a bug, go figure."

But whatever, we're already granting this plot whatever contrivance it needs to have things happen at this point. The system admin has a body that defies anti gravity and can move at super speed yet still gets injured by a basic weapon that exists everywhere on the planet. A wizard hacker so skilled at manipulating the world that she can make anything happen yet somehow got caught and sent to bug jail. At this point if Kaburagi used 100% limiter release to turn into a giant I wouldn't even be surprised because who cares anymore?

There are actually two kinds of "bugs" : that of entropy, which cannot be avoided (at least in a closed system) and the "bugs" of evolution, or more precisely the bugs (DNA mutations and errors) which are the driving force of evolution. These latter "bugs" should not be avoided, since they generate biodiversity, and I strongly doubt they can be rooted out anyway, except perhaps in the short term.

These two "bugs" have absolutely nothing to do with each other, and yet it is the latter bug, which drives evolution, which led to a situation that would normally be excepted from entropy. The hubris of the cyborgs, as Jill would point out, led them to believe that they could genetically engineer these Gadoll while rooting out their evolution, bizarrely considering it a "bug".

The torture and abuse of the original "pet" Gadoll at the Gadoll factory and its resulting hate of the abuser (the psycho Gadoll factory manager), combined perhaps with the pressure due to the impending end of the entire species (Jill's hypothesis) generated this unique evolutionary trait which is beyond the control of the System, as I pointed out last week.
I wonder how that "compression device" (which, apparently, greatly increases or decreases the atmospheric pressure inside the dome) will be stopped next week. Will the System abort the countdown if Kaburagi kills the mega-bug or will it not?

we are in the endgame now

ye there is no perfect system so a bug will eventually destroy the very system anyway (entropy and devolution or decadence (synonym of degeneracy or corruption) right there)

Well, that was kind of unexpected but it seems interesting. Let’s see.

In the beginning I didn’t like the CGI creature, fortunately it didn’t do too much and now we’re surrounded by them. I don’t understand Kaburagi’s plan, controlling Deca-Dence and then what, it can’t move and the only way to end this is destroying the remaining gadolls, assuming that the giant one is not gonna wake up any more. Hugin and that faces floating ball is interesting, that faces ball is the final boss then.
