Another good episode for this series. Seriously these characters are pretty awesome.

Clockwork, labyrinth, closed area, hermit, craftsman, loyalty, noblesse oblige... if those words caught your attention, you'll like this episode that is the prototype of the movie "Lupin III - the Castle of Cagliostro".

Lupin's rather artistic opinion on the worth of counterfeiting seemed to fit his character, but I'm not sure wanting to kidnap the counterfeiter does. Lupin didn't want to set up a press and print money, did he? I'd think he would find that boring.

Wasn't a bad episode, but it wasn't a great one either. Looks like both Jigen and Goemon sat out for this "transaction."

I enjoyed this episode. Not as much as the previous one, but it was still pretty decent. I like clocks, so that could have played into it too ^^.
I probably regret this post by now.

Lupin doesn't strike me as a guy who forces someone to do anything. Also how many times will Lupin fall for Fujiko's trick? Even Jigen is fed up with it.

Lupin is such a fool for Fujiko. I wonder how long that dynamic will continue.

really enjoyed this one, but I'm a sucker for clockwork fortresses.

Did feel a lot like Cagliostro

After hearing about "Kowalski Kingdom" I kinda expected the action to take place in Poland, since Kowalski is polish surname. But nope. Or I wasn't watching carefully enough...

Jigen made a very good point about not trusting Fujiko Mine
But Lupin never learn
At least in the end no one wins

I'm no expert in planes, but I love that Lupin and Jigen had to talk really loud in order to hear each other because of the noise of the plane they were flying on. It felt realistic.

Then, the counterfeit bills... Lupin didn't want to steal an object this time. He wanted to steal a talent, a very person. And he even tried to go as far as kidnapping him. And trying to trample over someone's will like that is no good. Well, in the end no one got the man's talent because he decided to die with his lady. I guess he really loved her.

I like how Jigen walks on a scheme if it doesn't suit him.

lol was Lupin going to open a counterfeit money factory or what.
He falls for Fujiko's treachery yet again. But she didn't gain shit in the end, so that's profit. Even though his smashed face disagrees.

Yes, that was really natural. And he had to repeat his talk sometimes.

I must say, that was a very interesting building that woman lived in. Pretty surprising how the guy decided to suicide instead of "being free."

Lmao the baron looks like low budget Sanji from One Piece, but I doubt that this was Odas inspiration. Overall the episode was pretty good and had very great ideas that were executed nicely.

I gave another chance for part 1 yesterday since it is the official 50th anniversary of episode 1 of Lupin III on 24 october. And I didn't regret it.(i saw episode 1 earliser this year but after that I dropped it because I wasn't in that mood to continue)I think I have had too much of that goofy Lupin which he is in part 2-part 5 and most of the specials. This episode was pretty enjoyable too.I am so confused which episode was directed by who but it doesn't matter until it has a quite serious plot.So yes ,it is the best season from the franchise for me now but it still can change dzring the other episodes.

Miyazaki took a risk in making Lupin not much better than the Baron. I'm impressed.

The only thing I really don't like is the narrative which is always too hasty and with a good number of empty narratives. The rest, on the other hand, I really like. The fistfights that you see in this anime, I haven't seen them for years, except currently in the anime of "Mushoku Tensei", where the faces deform under the blows received, wow, I really like this thing. Too bad, that other new characters disappear right away. An episode that is always very comic, thanks to the character of Lupine.

The bit where Lupin lost the photograph reminded me of the part in 'The Million Dollar Bloodhunt' where Pachuco lost the rope needed to scale out of prison.

The Cagliostro is strong with this one . . .

Miyazaki's influence is finally showing through.
