Kaneki's Mask being send to Haise and a book. They all have gotten a promotion and they celebrated it. Not much action this episode. I really appreciate the faces Saiko makes, she's too cute.

It's nice to see Haise sitting in :re with all his former companions, however it's sad he doesn't remember them.

Would be really great if some plot would pop up/be explained by now. As an anime only, Im totally lost whats going on here.

I read the manga up to the same chapter of this latest episode, and honestly I was even more confused about the story when reading the manga.

Not much happened sadly. After last week's episode I was expecting more action tbh. Still, we got to see some cool scenes such as haise saving hinami and the anteiku illusion.. Right at the feels. It has been so long since I read the manga but I remember questioning just why don't touka and others remind haise his past. He comes to the cafe after all?? I'm asking the same question again. just why? I guess time will show. I wonder if 24 episodes will be enough to cover all the manga.

Because they think haise is happy with his life. They want him to be happy if they make him remember, his life will be ruined.

Animation was pretty lacking this episode. Also I feel like they are speeding a little bit with the story again. I mean, I like that they added some stuff that they left out before, but what happened to the scene when Haise writes all the different ways to spell Kaneki Ken before he finds out how it's spelled, or when he is giving out gifts, he explains why he gave the gift he did for each person. I feel that extra detail would of been nice :/

They covered almost 2.5 chapters, I don't think that explaining the gifts is that important! -especially when the studio wants to reach some point- xD
And for the animation, this episode wasn't an action episode, it was full of talking so I don't care if the animation was lacking.

I'm not saying that the explaining of the gifts was important for the overall story. I'm saying that if they had included it in, it would of made the scene even better with the nice heartwarming happy moment they were going for, and I liked that part because it showed how Haise cared a lot for the people around them and that each gift had a meaning for why he gave it to them.

That's because his hair is growing. The white hair is his old color and the black color is his new one. The hair growing from his roots are now black, and whenever he gets a haircut, the white hair would be trimmed off. This will cause more black than white hair.

Aww I love mature Touka
I feel like dropping this and just sticking with the manga
this adapted like 2 chapters I believe . You’re just used to hating on it that you’re blinded and can’t see . It was slow paced , nowhere near fast .

I know it was only 2 chapters and there were more characters present in the manga and it's not hate it's the feeling of let down and knowing that the studio can do slow paced episode while comprising on so many scenes on last six episode even in the fights also when I said it is fast paced I have also said that its just me
I am not going hate Tokyo ghoul:re Even if the studio covered 100 chapters in 2 episodes because Tokyo ghoul is one of the series i like very much

I actually enjoyed this episode more than the previous episode. I feel like it helped develop characters much better, and actually made me care about them more. Urie and Shirazu mainly. I love the way Haise and Shirazu talk about Urie even though he resents the both of them. My hope is eventually he accepts them both as brothers the same way they see him.

I wonder who sent Haise the mask and the book. Has to be someone who obviously knew Kaneki Ken. I don't think Touka wouldn't be that pushy. Yomo wouldn't care. Maybe Uta or one of the clowns if they cared enough. But Eto makes the most sense seeing as she signed the book. Actually... hold on. Wait. I know who sent the book and mask. Wow.

Anyways, solid episode overall. I wish I could visit that Re: coffee shop in IRL lol. I don't even drink coffee like that, but it just has a great vibe to it. I'm glad we got to see Touka again.

Haise's actions sure ended up saving Hinami's life. So Akira knows the ghoul that fought Haise. Nice to see that after such a hard op that the CCG are recognising them by promoting them. Since Hinami was connected to her father's death Akira's feelings about Hinami must be complex. The house party was a great idea though and it was nice seeing the squad and the surprising guests of Arima and Akira have so much fun chilling out. Looks like Toka and her friends will continue to observe for the time being. The revelation about why The insight into the personal motivations was also interesting.

Of course Akira knows him. He is Takizawa Seidou? He and Akira were classmates, both of them fought for the top spot of the class with Akira ended up being first, and both of them worked together before he was abducted and turned to a ghoul by Aogiri.

They are only half-ghouls, there was some sort of experiment conducted on them. Really not important at that point.
This is clearly strange. I really appreciate the development seen through the grace-period everyone got, but that was not the emotionally-worst occurrence...
What seems to have happened - Amon became a half-ghoul preying on "bad" ghouls and eating them to sustain his life (yeah, story is all over the place at this point, but the message is what counts). Aogiri got disfigured and turned over a new leaf, teaching children (or half-ghoul children? Was it not the institution? Not really important). Aaaand that is about it. But everything else is also slowly unraveling further. Urie accepting friendship and companionship. Toru finding purpose and finally getting to train to be an investigator. The shark-teeth boy showing remorse at ghouls and how he has something precious to protect (I bet Washu or some other scum will misuse his sister later). Everything seems to have been moved one stair up... but it took them the whole 6 episodes to get back on track from where Root A left us. Anyway, my admiration for the series have been rekindled. And I sure hope it stays this way...

The Quinx are not half-ghouls. They technically are still human. Natural half-ghoul is Eto and artificial half-ghouls are Kaneki and Takizawa. Unlike Kaneki, the Kakuhou in their bodies are covered in Quinque Steel called Frames to lower the RC level in their bodies. The anime didn't adapt this explanation scene. Both human and Ghoul have RC in their bodies. If the RC level surpass 1000, human will become ghoul and cannot eat normal food anymore. The Quinx have their RC levels controlled to lower than 1000 while Haise's RC level is 2753 so he can't eat human food.

Only real complaints are the animation as always but there wasn't combat in this episode so it's not as noticable, that they cut out Touka's "controversial" lines, they made it so it wasn't Christmas and had less people but that's not a big deal, Eto gave him the book which was given to him by someone else in the manga but more Eto so I'm fine with that, and they didn't explain the ROS with Shirazu's sister. That's gonna confuse the hell out of anime onlys. I swear if we start hearing the one eyed king debate again and her name pops up because there's a kagune on her face I'm gonna kill someone. All in all a surprisingly decent episode.

haha that's funny how can you say that when so many details were revealed?

1) reveals Shirazu's reason for being a quinx
2) multiple dove promotions
3) Haise receives Kaneki's mask in the mail along with a book by his favourite author (and likely has a shit ton of symbolism relevance)--also the fact Haise is no longer trying to ignore his past but is instead trying to learn more.
4) Hinami gets taken captive (and is under Haise's charge)
5) Strongly hints at what a missing character is up to

and those are some some of the important details that happened.

But I digress, you either A) just weren't paying attention, B) only care for action and therefore see this episode as a waste or C) are a troll...or a tool, either work at this point :)

You can complain that you don't like the anime and it just isn't your cup of tea, you can complain that you don't like the pace, hell you can complain that there wasn't enough blood, but you can't complain that barely anything happened

In terms of animation and art , this episode was the best executed so far this season . Though I still find they take too many liberties in advancing the plot( ie. scenes with little explanation, anime original parts), considering they intend to include or perhaps conclude the Rose operation , it can't be helped .

Still, it would've helped anime only readers if they touched on things like Arima and Mado's relationship with Haise , how he sees them as parental figures due to the memory loss , and why he would then invite them over for Christmas in the first place . Also, it's interesting they would include the Christmas chapter at all, considering it is essentially a filler in the manga ...
Not bad for an episode though.

And this, ladies and gentlemen is why we don't get decent adaptations.
The manga is so great because of all the details and how it all connects during EVERY chapter.

This episode is what the true Tokyo ghoul is all about and it's the best show at doing that.
Even that small scene of Shimoguchi was great, the ost that played then was fantastic.

I loved this episode, even though they changed some minor stuff, but I'm really glad they redid the cafe scene and the FINALLY some focus on Mutsuki.

The introduction of Tokage was CREEPY AS HELL, when I saw him I was like HELL NAW

I am pretty sure he eats the same thing as Cochlea prisoners, the stew. Using RC suppressant can't help a ghoul eat human foods only make them weaker. You can see a lot of scenes where Haise just looked at others eating. He even asked Mutsuki if the food tasted good since he can't taste it himself.
BTW, about the stew, I think it is from dead row criminals, suicide victims or the corpses that no one claim.
