THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It seems like Sougo has been consumed by Maganagi. It seems like the Shinsengumi will also need to stop Sougo. Lol at Gintoki picking a [poop] fight with Hijikata. Lol at Sayako having no feelings towards Kusanagi. LMAO, the two are only connected by the **** they did. But it’s cool that we get some more Gintoki vs. Sougo, with good production values. LMAO at Kusanagi’s Viagra running out! I couldn’t help but laugh at the fact that the scabbard is actually Kusanagi’s daughter. That moment when Gintama makes you feel bad about a scabbard. But luckily Sougo regained conscious right before Maganagi kills Saya. Lol at Gintoki giving his blood to Kusanagi. That was some DBZ powering up right there! But Maganagi was finally defeated by Kusanagi. That moment when Gintama makes you feel bad about a dying sword. And the series always plays the right music at the right time ;_; The episode ended with a 30 second bonus anime-original scene with Sougo, Hijikata and Mitsuba from the past. The next episode will be the HDZ48 arc! Personally, the arc wasn't too great when I read the manga version. But I think with voice acting, this arc can be a blast in the anime! The preview also features a very small tease for the final arc! 5/5 |

I'm very scared that at this pace we won't get the Final 2 One Shots animated(unless it's a OVA), but then again the Key Visual showed Tama and she's only in the Video Game one shot |

Great episode as always. Loved the moment where Gintoki was telling Maganagi that Sougo's moves weren't nearly as easy to read as his own. That was some glorious stuff right there with the whole Exaclibur battle, I burst out laughing when Gintoki threw the poop on Hijikata and indirectly called him trash. The final scene with Sougo putting the sword forged with the remnants of Kusanagi to rest with her daughter was really nice. That Shinsengumi special at the end. xD I got chills when the PV for Silver Soul started but then I realized they were just trolling us with random footage and comments. xD |

I never thought I would watch any form of entertainment that involved a character powering up by shoving a sword up their ass to let it feed on their blood......but then Gintama happened lol. And just a couple minutes later, it turns into an emotional farewell scene. Pretty solid arc overall. Looks like we'll see Otsu again in the next episode. And that teaser for the Silver Soul arc......it saddens me that that's a sign that Gintama is slowly but surely reaching the final conclusion. |
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime. Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait. MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol. |

That tease for the final arc had me both happy and sad ;-; I do want Gintama to go out with class though, unlike a lot of other long-running Shounen series that shall not be named. Also, before this episode I never thought seeing a man stick a sword up his own butt could be oddly heroic and endearing, butt this is Gintama, so there you have it. I always like seeing the slightly sweet side of Okita- the side that waited for Tetsuko to forge a sword with his scabbard's family members in it. He's got a bit of a heart in there, deep, deep down. Next episode is Otsu centric which I'm totally happy about because it means more Takachin and he's hilarious XD |

It was an alright episode, i feel like this is one of those gintama arcs where it really didnt fully know what it wanted to be and kind of felt underdeveloped as a result, like that one arc way way back around ep 106 or so about the yakuza son. I think the big problem was it never decided if it wanted to transition into something serious or stay a comedy so both kind of felt weaker, i think they should of maybe had an actual fight at the end and it would of made it greatly better. It was cool seeing both a excuse to see mitsuba again albeit brief, as well the final arc tease. I am really hoping that they have been making the arc for a while now especially cause they had a tease of it months ago shortly after rakyou ended. This is going to be it for gintama and I want the anime to do it justice especially when they dropped the ball so hard on the rakyou arc animation wise, ive been rewatching it as of recent and the katsura fight is spectacularly animated but almost everything else ranges from ok to outright dogshit more in line with a toei show. I dont want silver soul to potentially suffer a weakening in quality as a result of poor animation especially if its as action heavy as ive heard. Time will tell, the homeless arc had some subtle but beautiful/polished animation so im hopeful. |

Much of it was perfectly serviceable. Like the fight where gin, katsura, and sakumoto first arrived on rakuyo, the joi 4 teamup, sakamoto's short battle vs hankai, and kagura vs kamui. It had some higher end stuff: the first episode, the last episode, Katsura's episode obviously (yes it was the best looking overall easily), most of the kouka backstory, parts of umibozu vs kamui, and many parts of kamui vs everyone. The only really meh stuff was Gin VS batou for the most part, some of the fighting with fodders, and the second half of umibozu VS utsuro (and the only reason that one comes off as meh, is cause of just how hype it was supposed to be since it was godly in the manga). |

XD Leave it to Gintama to turn an over the top hilarious story into an emotional reunion between father and daughter. Mom Scabberina deserves praise for her work. T.T I knew Sougo couldn't be controlled, that moment when he returned was just epic. Them blood powerups were hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing. XD R.I.P Kusanagi, you will be remembered. The final scene with Sougo putting the sword forged with the remnants of Kusanagi to rest with her daughter was really nice. That Shinsengumi special at the end. xD I got chills when the PV for Silver Soul started but then I realized they were just trolling us with random footage and comments. xD no they weren't, that scene and that line is in the manga. they did a similar preview for rakuyo arc.(the scene where the joi 4 stand together). it was actually good to know that they're on it, i thought they won't start animating the last arc until the manga is finished. I guess you misunderstood what I was trying to say or I didn't make it clear enough. I was just expecting actual footage from the arc itself like a real PV but in the end it was just them giving us what is akin to 'development comments'. Of course, it's great to know that we're getting the arc though. |

Also the art style(at least for people) was really shiny in the beginning, they weren't in these last 2 eps. Honestly did no one care about that? :/ I'll check out the anime youre mentioning. So i'll probably get to it earlier than others.. |

Bruh, it was fluctuating as hell. Just like Gintama. Trust me, I've watched both multiple times through. Yu yu hakusho's best animation was probably hiei vs bui or Yusuf's vs togoro. Maybe the final fight of the series too. And those episodes/ scenes are probably a little less impressive than Gintama's best of the best animation like jirocho and gin vs the shinra, the reaper arc, takasugi vs gin, and stuff like that. And there were early episodes of both that looked like crap. Honestly they are both some of the most consistently nice looking long running shows of you ask me |

Though Gintama isn't just fights either. Parts of The hotpot episode, beetle episode, the transformation scene in renho, episode 308 (easily one of the best looking episodes in the series, no action. Scene composition and animation of normal movements are godly though). And these are just a few examples. |
