| The contrast between the opening and ending is very interesting. It also reminds me of Barakamon which is very nice. I also like how the MC interacts around the three sisters, lol |

| It was really a great experience to watch, and I feel like it was a good pacing and we understand the general kind of setting. But a very real criticism that can be made about it is that I don't understand what his past trauma is at all, which is a little frustrating. I would like to know the context to really appreciate why he feels this way and how he is related to this sweet little family. |

| Pretty interesting start of this series to be honest! Quite a lovely setting and while sometimes very good it also has a very dark atmosphere around the MC. Either way a pretty solid start, looking forward to see what this series has to offer! |

| This series reminds me of Chihayafuru, with the atmosphere of Hyouka. Looks like a nice slice of life, with a little more emphasis on the mental state of the characters. |

| The first time i tried watching this when it aired i simply couldn't stand the youngest sisters' voice, didn't bother me one bit this time, weird. Decent start, the melancholy in the first half seemed to disappear in the second half though, let's see how it goes. |

| i decided to do this thing where i watch one of the pan to watch series on my list alongside with the new anime i'm trying to catch up on and i just picked this randomly, without even reading the synopsis properly and it's really far from anything i expected it to be. recognized shaft there but this lookes like a bit more mature and calmer than most their works. i can't lie, it looks pretty promising but has a possibility to turn into something incredibly boring. i don't usually drop anime but here's hoping it goes the first way. |

| I love the art style and the animation for this anime. Though, the character designs were somewhat off in the beginning, the characters move fairly realistically and the art for the backgrounds are the most beautiful I've ever seen. The characters look so cute, though. I feel that this anime is going to be a tad too melodramatic but the first episode was pretty great. |

| Good first episode, but I'm not really hooked yet. I'm curious to see what the kid is so upset about. He really reacted to the news footage about the killed killing his father. Is he mad at his own father? Is his dad dead? This was probably answered in this episode and I just missed it...I dunno 3/5 |

| In my opinion the tonal shifts are on point, because it focuses our attention both on the mental state of the MC and the way society is set... Modern days are so rapid that they won't give a damn about your mental state, and if you don't wanna be left behind you either tag along or at least pretend like you do. First half very expressive even without a lot of spoken words. |
| I'm going into this show completely blind, save for the extraordinary acclaim the second season has (being the 9th highest show on MAL is no joke, after all). I really enjoyed this episode. I adore the art style and setting. The first half having such little dialogue was a beautiful way to express Kiriyama's view of the world. Kinda curious what his whole situation with the Kawamoto's is all about. Also, I have no idea the rules for shogi, so I was really confused during that match. I don't know enough about the characters or plot to know how I feel in that department, but we'll have to see if this show lives up to its reputation. I'm looking forward to it. |
| hmm so first impression, pretty good series so far, but the comedy was mad annoying, like it was an attempt by the writer to make the audience laugh or relax, not something that the characters in the show would normally do, which means they have to get OOC when they do their comedy skit. I really dislike it when the series introduces a drama/trauma and felt the necessity to include some sort of comedy just to lessen the tension, imo it cheapens the mood of the series. Also, the comedy is way too over the top, way too hyper for this type of show, it's like it doesn't belong. it's also very annoying when the characters are all over-sympathizing with the protagonist, like, they're all aware of his issues and do things way too carefully in front of him. It just doesn't feel right, like, they only exist in the story to help develop Rei and not having their own.. well, character. All the "pity looks" that they give him are very annoying. Hopefully we get more shogi related stuffs too, came into this expecting it to be more like Hikaru no Go / Chihayafuru as far as the sports go, rather than Shion no Ou where it's more focused on the drama. |

| THIS IS SOOOO CUTE!!!!!! <3 I don't understand the game shogi, animation is very moe, I love it.. it reminds me somehow of Yuri on Ice (in terms of comedic scenes) the 3 sisters are cute and pretty.. I love the characters already but it somehow confusing me because the anime didn't explain about what happen to the guy why he's so gloomy.. maybe in the latter part. I love Hina and Momo they are so cute! Akari is like a mother figure, I thought she's a married woman! |

| Pretty average anime. Shaft is making a big deal by advertising sangatsu even within anime, copying the likes of shitty brains base. Most of anime was long drawn with 0 context and the family segment is just so weird. Whoooo the fucking hell puts curry in front of deceased. No wonder the family is poor. Not only do they have 2 cats, but they even waste food a lot. And that not including the curry for the dead. Shogi wasn't cool as they advertised it to be. |

| This first episode blew me away, this is the first time that a first episode really amazed me and captured my interest immediately I guess the art and the animation helped with that but, I can tell the story will be deep. Also Kiriyama reminds me a little bit of Kousei from Your Lie in April not just their appearance but, their personality as well. Anyways looking forward for more of this anime. |

| Judging from the first episode, I think this is going to be superb. I like the soundtrack and the girls are so cute especially Momo. I like how the first 11 minutes where Rei isn't talking much and he kept thinking about the past while making his way to the shogi hall. That's a very smooth scene. |
